my goodness ooohmygosh that was great tyvm that was lovely so nice to have u here thank u good to see ya u from LA? tyvm that was wonderful thank you nice job good gig by the way
she said in an interview that she gets stage fright especially on tv she says it affects her voice, thats why she sounds different than when shes just on radio or her album.
Yeah, I noticed the difference in her voice. I kept wishing the vocals were louder. The guitar playing was off at some parts as well. They weren't bad, though.
I can see the stage fright and its more than understandable. Playing local gigs can be a little unnerving but playing Letterman and being the front woman singing...Scary!
You know, back in the day, when we didn't have real-time pitch-correction and even syncing backing tracks wasn't that easy, some subpar bands just drowned everything in a sh!tload of reverb and delays.
I can't understand the folks bitching about this live performance. Just listened to the 'official video' and I actually prefer it live. My only complaint is if that's how she can make it sound, that's how they should record it then, more or less. Otherwise you'll always get all these disappointed plastic people ; )
I assure you that this was a bad presentation at all, I would not go back to see this video again and again. I miss Dee Dee Penny, Jules, Malia ad of course that hot drummer.
@@jvlixn Arthur Rimbaud was a mid 19th century French romantic....i mean poet....i mean a poet during the romantic era.....just fuckin read Illuminations.
No, I think the songwriting is really lame on this one. I was very disappointed with the whole album actually, especially after the uberbrilliant "End of daze" EP.
The drummer is cute but she kind of sucks lol. She's just playing the same basic beat over and over. There's many missed places that would sound better with a roll.
I love the drummer!
She's so familiar. Wiki-ed her and found, yes, I've seen her (Sandra Vu) before. Was the drummer for the Raveonettes on one of their tours.
that's my wife.
great
@@VigilanteVegan That is my wife, from China.
@@limitedlau5339 She's my wife ! 😕
IN LOVE with that drummer!!
I woke up hungover in the middle of the night and this was on. It brought my spirits up.
letterman's sound guy deprived their whole audience of DeeDee's astonishing voice.
I saw them in Boston last night and they sound way better live than they did on Letterman . Everyone should check them out.
That was a great show!
They are coming back to Boston this fall.
i saw them in Seattle ... was awesome performance :)
My favorite performance! This new record is by far their best, in my opinion. Reminds me a lot of The Cure
I agree with you!!
love the drummer.
So good
Saw them in NYC same year, amazing band.
my goodness
ooohmygosh
that was great

that was wonderful
thank you
nice job
good gig by the way
The drummer is phenomenal
whoa... they are so good.
That Band's On Fire!
Dee Dee is my spirit guide.
Good sound
That drummer is crazy good!
she said in an interview that she gets stage fright especially on tv she says it affects her voice, thats why she sounds different than when shes just on radio or her album.
I noticed when I saw them that Dee Dee gets out of nerves very quickly though. If only they had more time to play.
Yeah, I noticed the difference in her voice. I kept wishing the vocals were louder. The guitar playing was off at some parts as well. They weren't bad, though.
Tv sound is always the worst representation
KEXP interview, I saw just yesterday
LOVE THEM!!!! ❤️❤️
Love them! ❤
I can see the stage fright and its more than understandable. Playing local gigs can be a little unnerving but playing Letterman and being the front woman singing...Scary!
I saw them live in Washington DC in 2014...They were fucking phenomenal
Sandra vu is such a rad drummer .... Shes in another band that shes the singer in. Look her up
The Drummer !!!
I thought it was the vocals that was too low but I could see that you know she's nervous in front of TV that happens to anyone call sounds good
nice sound guitars...
Kriss Talbot
I am French and l really don't know what to say about the jewel, hardness and suffering songs
Whispering...
I Love you.!!! Shut down!
I am totally in love with her.
Remind me of Throwing Muses the singer even sounds like Kristin Hersch

They aren't lip syncing, I appreciate that anyday.
Malia has the best bass tone
Yep.
Discovered this band from a Nardwuar video, I like them
that guitar is FUCKING sick.
Is it just me or nobody noticed the hardly to hear voice?
+WladimirWostok She can't hear it either, which is why she's frequently off key. :(
@@Gyrant Plot twist (4 years later, y'I know)... she was frequently off key that's why they buried her in the mix. Common trick.
Супер!!!
Didn't sound great on Letterman, but I've heard enough of them to know it's NOT the band.
Everyone quit the band or wtf?! Where's my redhead bassist?!
bambi (departed bassist you speak of) has been out of the band for a few years now. malia james took over the position
It’s not the same in Bambi’s absence; how could it be?
I saw them last spring at an unsanctioned SXSW concert and they were much better live than this performance would lead you to believe.
Dee dee 😍
I like this live very much. Saw them in Brooklyn Bowl last night. Thought Dee Dee's vocals were good but low volume compared to the music. Great show!
What kind of guitar is she playing?
eastwood guitar,airline '59
Whoa! 1959? For reals?
Dana Paramita yes its a reissue of course. www.eastwoodguitars.com/airline-59-newport-black/
Dana Paramita www.eastwoodguitars.com/airline-59-custom-3p-dlx-white/ WHOOPS this one i meant :)
Dee Dee is beautiful and charismatic... Very interesting face.
"dum dum, girls?"
UAUU The Cure Girls
They should have had vocals up and dee dee on guitar
I doesny hit right. It needs to go harder
waait! is that a dum dum dude?
Is the other guitarist (the one behind the first female guitarist) a man or a woman? Because she kinda looks mascular?
Judge Steve Andrew Miller.
Dee Dee is flat at the start, she probably can't hear herself enough
Balance on the audio is off or their covering up a weak singer. Who knowes Showbusiness is manipulated BIGGLY!!
Ди ди вылитая моя жена бывает же такое
So worse than the studio version.
Keep your opinion.
I assure you that this was a bad presentation at all, I would not go back to see this video again and again. I miss Dee Dee Penny, Jules, Malia ad of course that hot drummer.
Lyric: "You've got...Rimbo eyes" ???
Rimbaud. Read the title. Lol
+Julian Aguilar Rimbaud's surname is not pronounced Rimbo.
i don't know what the song is in reference to or who Rimbaud is but i automatically read it as "rim-bow" (rimbo as you spelled it).
@@jvlixn Arthur Rimbaud was a mid 19th century French romantic....i mean poet....i mean a poet during the romantic era.....just fuckin read Illuminations.
Rly want2 like them but wow so repetitive
ouch
Dee Dee...
“The Mission” females?
A pity that this band doesn't exist anymore, what Dee Dee Penny did after as Kritin Kontrol isn't as good, far from it !
что у нее с лицом? замем рожи строить ?
Sounds like Bimbo Eyes to me!
Rimjob eyes
Nobody plays well on Letterman.
th-cam.com/video/zWQHhKrdtSA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ouK2S_gWKhU-gvx9
It's a pretty fucking dreadful song honestly.
+mantra3000 Very basic, few words/cords but that isn't the point LMAO
The album version sounds good. This sounds messy af
+mantra3000 Gotta agree with you. Their actual recorded version sounds way better.
No, I think the songwriting is really lame on this one. I was very disappointed with the whole album actually, especially after the uberbrilliant "End of daze" EP.
I like the demeanor and beat, not much in song writing to appreciate. Bottom of their song writing, their other offerings are better.
1337
Well, kinda third rate music, to be honest. Can't even sing properly.
Oh, my word!
their music is so incredibly boring...
Good grief!
The Dum Dum Girls are (until the breakup) a great band, and this song is one of the best minor key rockers you'll ever hear.
The drummer is cute but she kind of sucks lol. She's just playing the same basic beat over and over. There's many missed places that would sound better with a roll.
Good heavens!
yup... still a horrid performance, they sound so much better literally everywhere else.
Jesus!....! this is awful. The band are like a direct antithesis of Warpaint.
Direct antithesis? Song-wise? Performance-wise? I don't think Warpaint are thaaat great either. I prefer this band any day.
Yikes!
