I still have this game for the Sega Mega Drive although I preferred Quarterback Club which I also have. The thing I remember most about this game was how they advertised 'Left Handed QBs' on the back of the box, showing a pixelated Steve Young throwing left-handed. In typical EA fashion, Young was the ONLY lefty QB that was animated correctly. At the time, Boomer Esiason, Cade McNown and Mark Brunell were all playing in the NFL and were left-handed, yet they threw rught-handed in the game. Total false advertisement.
This was suppose to be release on Sony PlayStation, but Electronic Arts cancelled it due to not meeting quality standards, so we're stuck with the 16-bit version of this game.
Your right. However, there actually is a PS1 beta rom of Madden 96. But it's really glitchy, and it sounds like it's unfinished. I have it on emulation.

I have the SNES version. It’s not the best thing in the world. The NFL on Fox theme sounds so accurate, but that’s about it, though.
