It was. Especially since Daigo fleeing Ryu to go with the most broken new character felt like a betrayal of his image as the ultimate consummate pro. And maybe if we could get some great fan content to go along with SF6 it'll increase the hype overall. Part of what made SF4 special to me as a viewer (I've never even played it but I was a fan of SF2 in the arcade and on SNES) was following along with shows like Cross Counter live and Excellent Adventures (of Gootecks and Mike Ross). The personalities, the passion, the humor, and of course the games made the 2009 to 2015 period epic as a competitive fighting games viewer. SF5 and its contemporaries didn't quite capture that same magic for me (DBFZ was pretty hype at least) but maybe SF6 will do better.

He's only been making videos for a couple months. Given the relatively niche nature of fighting game content, he's doing really well getting almost 10k already.
This channel has been an early Christmas gift for me this year. Thank You for documenting these cool moments. Hopefully your channel blows up in popularity in 2023, because You've earned it sir
You're hitting all the right moments. I was super invested in the FGC at this time and it's great to be able to see breakdowns of my favorite highlights from back then. Thanks
this was such an awesome moment. also something else to note, daigo abandon ryu in AE because of how strong yun was. it was VERY contentious and people didnt like it. he was figured to sweep basically everyone. then this happened...
It's always so funny when people don't realize daigo is and always has been a tier whore, he just leans towards shotos primarily, then anybody with a solid fireball game after that. But he will just go with a top tier if all else fails
@@drattyg8099 sort of. During the lifespan of sf4 he also said he would play zangief if he just wanted to win but found his game plan boring. so he doesn’t play something he doesn’t find fun at the very least.
Lets GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO another video!!! Literally just recalling your teenage memories seems to evoke alot of memories for others. Dont stop making videos PapaLobster!
I remember watching this and being so hyped!! I’m a Daigo fan but I really wanted Poongko to win the whole thing!! I was a bit disappointed when he lost his next 2 matches…but it was an amazing performance!! Great Content!! Keep it coming!!
This content is so amazing as always!! Not sure if you’ve thought of covering Marn’s run at ncr 2016!! Finding this on Christmas was definitely a present
dude,i still go back and watch top 8s from the sfiv days. My first EVO i attended was in 2012, and the SFIV era of fighting games will always hold a special place in my heart. I should probably dust off my fightsticks
Thanks for bringing back all of these fond memories. Would love to see you cover Daigo vs Infiltration 2015 capcom cup. That comeback was something else
i havent been active in the higher level fgc for some time but im loving your breakdowns and commentary lately. thanks for the great content. please do a video on Tokido! hes been my favorite opponent and player forever!
there was a very good funny compilation video of Poongko called, Poongko The Terminator on youtube, but it got taken down, it showed how he always comes back and wins the match at very low health.
Amazing video. I remember this like it was yesterday. I rooted for Daigo, but i actually screamed of joy when poongko destroyed him. It was so unespected. The man could really pump the crowd. Also plz do comebackfiend(combofiend) vs marn bionicaaaarm
do you think you could do a feature/breakdown on Evolution 2013 UMVC3 - Cloud805 vs Angelic please? Angelic with the shuma tech is always a pleasure to see
Very enjoyable video. Excellent presentation and commentary. I had to subscribe! If at all possible, could you please do a video on Poongko vs Pepeday, Canada Cup 2014.
with all the limitations SFV had Poon Poon never really got to get that second wind but SF6 looks crazy right now and I'm sure he'll find a character in that game
In that event as well poongko was defeated by another unlikely player named latif. And pongko took the 3rd 🥉 place. Fudos beyond fei long became the champion and latif took 2nd 🥈 latif said, “I never fought a fei long like that before.”
Poongko beating Daigo's OP Yun was glorious. I miss these days of SF, hopefully SF6 can deliver with some hype moments.

The energy was insane inside the ballroom that night, the Red Bull chug still sticks out in memory for me being there in-person.

I came here literally to say these exact things. Took the words out of my mouth
Unfortunately, fighting games and the FCG as a whole is STILL poverty and one of the smaller and less popular gaming genres & communities.
I subscribed just because of this comment without even watching the video yet
So, you just found this chanel one week ago and its already your favorite chanel?😂
This has been a very high-quality channel. Really enjoying the vids so far

This channel has been a godsend. I had forgotten about a lot of these matches that I watched years ago. Love reliving all these hype memories!
I don’t even think that this match was the most insane part of this evo. Latif’s run was nuts had me losing my voice.
You're hitting all the right moments. I was super invested in the FGC at this time and it's great to be able to see breakdowns of my favorite highlights from back then. Thanks

Duuude this was the truth.
Poongko also had a big contribution or legacy in Tekken 7 by introducing the Akuma Death Combo.

This channel is my greatest find on YT this year, such a gem!
I LOVE your content! An all supermove UMVC3 pallette swap compilation of all mod characters would probably land you a 100k views for that!
Great video and the break down between their thought process was very helpful to follow.
Liked the vid as soon as I clicked. This channel is gold
Great analysis! I've been feeling really nostalgic with all of the SF4 era personalities back in the day and this was a great trip back memory lane.
Cracked out on all your content, you are poised to pop off with SF6, can’t wait for your growth

Watching this live was one of the sickest moments.
Yeah your content quality has improved a lot despite already already being amazing. Great video again
I truly miss tournaments being this hype! I haven't been to one yet but I could feel the energy through the screen
Great commentary mate. Keep up the awesome work
This era was peak street fighter

The top 8s for the later years of sf4 were incredible. The character diversity really shined.
Thanks for bringing back all of these fond memories. Would love to see you cover Daigo vs Infiltration 2015 capcom cup. That comeback was something else
The best Poongko set i've ever seen live is Canada cup grandfinals vs Pepeday. The amout of crazyness on that match is out of this world.
Chumlee talks about fighting games? I'm all in.
i havent been active in the higher level fgc for some time but im loving your breakdowns and commentary lately. thanks for the great content.

Thanks for the vid - Poongko is a legend of that era.
Awesome content. Really love the SF breakdowns!
poongko really exploded with seth i remember one of the first seth players was online tony
Probably one of the best redbull ad in SFC lol
I remember this match like it was yesterday
great vid of one of my favorite storylines but that subscriber bit in the middle completely threw off my enjoyment
there was a very good funny compilation video of Poongko called, Poongko The Terminator on youtube, but it got taken down, it showed how he always comes back and wins the match at very low health.
Awesome channel man. Just subscribed.
For people who didnt play sf4 I think its important to understand that Yun was BROKEN AS FUCK like this matchup is not even remotely good for seth
Excelent video! Got my subscribe!
This one of those things nobody would believe unless it was recorded 😂

Mike ross going off his mike the cagebreaker ross runs was amazing.
Once the belt came off I knew I was in for a wild ride
Wake up babe, new PapaLobster video dropped
I remember watching this at home on live stream. My neighbor told me to calm down.
I miss Poongko man 😢
What happen to him?
Does he twitch anymore ? I used to watch him 2 years ago
I meant him playing in the competition
Love the SF4 content I think Nishikin’s run at Taito Arcade Nationals or Dashio at TGS 2015 could both make for interesting videos in this style.
The fact the dude fell for the dragon bait like 8 times
Poongko vs Bronson is where I first saw poongko. Hype set lmao
Keep up the good work bro
man poongko is my fav player of all time, and that evo was the most insane ever
I always wanted to catch diago in a mixup so i had to subscribe .
Poongko is everything i love about competition
Amazing video, as always.
It’s very cool when there are people like this creating hype.
Poongko Seth was one of the dirtiest player/character combinations ever on SF and it was a super fun time to watch
As a fighting game fan that wasn’t aware of the competitive scene, your content is awesome
It’d be appreciated if you could cover some mvc2 matches
I'll definitely look into some of the classics for you ❤️
Keep up the godlike content my dude. Subscribed.

I was there getting drunk with my friends off vodka and lemonade...lol
I'm suscribed bro you deserve it
Man the street fighter 4 era was so hype
Poongko is the ultimate chigyu. He felt so badass taking off his shirt, belt and chugging energy drinks. It's beautiful, the Shakespeare of cringe.
Shakespeare of cringe? How poetic...love that expression. 👌😗
Okay, I gotta ask, when are we gonna get a full video on the legendary “Haken Comeback” between Infiltration and PR Rog?
Poongko is probably my favorite player of all time, every match was great.

"if you enjoy this seth leave a like"

that was so fire
Sf4 days were the best
with all the limitations SFV had Poon Poon never really got to get that second wind but SF6 looks crazy right now and I'm sure he'll find a character in that game
"Leave a like"
Me: no thanks
Lol
I was a sub long before 10k 🎉 just leaving this for the future
Some interesting Seth combos here I never knew existed.

Poongko is absolutely "The Shirtless Hero".
If crosscountertv /cap comes didn’t put Gootecks on hiatus. Then there would be a channel where hype and story lines could broadcasted
This makes me want to play street fighter 4
He just abandoned fear and inhibition god damn
Guess I'm in the 5%. Hit the bell this time, 'cause I NEED these breakdowns! Got any favorite Daigo vs. Valle matches? I might want to see that.
I'm a HUGE Valle fan. Maybe I'll break down an old SF2 set! I'll find a good set of them
Not an expert on fighting games, but watching your video really made me appreciate the game more. Great work!
That was super cool
Coolness- Daigo is the authority on Street Fighter approved controllers (joystickless is ok).
God bless.
poongko's seth is my all time favorite..

HYPE whenever you see it!!
I didn't know Seth was this strong
