What if the SEC chews itself up? Could Alabama, UGA, Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others beat up on each other so bad no clear teams emerge? What if we see TWO undefeated G5 teams? What if Michigan gets high-level QB play this season? Michigan is extremely undervalued. This team will look like the 2021 team, mid but functional offense with a game managing average QB1 and the defense will win most if not all their games. They will lose to OSU but beat Texas and Oregon at home. They ain't winning it, but will get into playoffs.

    If you know how to watch football, you can easily tell the difference between two teams who have 3 losses each. Too many casuals have opinions on this stuff and it creates this crazy casual echo chamber where you get analysis like "Michigan's defense can't get any better after Hutch and Ojabo leave!" And then it does. For 2 years straight. And probably will again for a 3rd straight year.

    Finally somebody said this about michigan. Everyone just assumes they're going to be weak at QB, but what if they're not? There's a reason they didn't even pursue a QB in the portal. Most see it as the only real question mark on what looks like a loaded team otherwise, especially on defense.
    With even just solid QB play, there's no reason to think this season won't just be a continuation of what we've been seeing the past few years.
    So many rumblings about Michigan's QB situation, but not a peep about the situation in ohio? Every poll has them at least top 3 and their QB options are a transfer that was going to lose the starting job at K state, a true freshman, or a guy that lost the position battle to mccord last year. I'd argue they're in worse shape at the position than michigan

      This is just historic mis-remembering... the BCS was NEVER just point based algorithims........ Thats not how the rankings were calculated. From 1998-2001 it was 50% computers and 50% human polls, from 2002-2013 it was 33% computers and 67% human polls. FYI theres a reason why this was changed in 2001 (cuz Nebraska got ANNHILIATED by #4 CU in the B12 title by 38 and yet still made the championship over them and a PAC Champ #2 Oregon) - also this historical fact completely destroys the narrative that the CFP was created because the 2011 selection.
      What human and computer polls were used also changed 6 times during the lifetime of this system. Which is also why its incredibly sus that media talks about how legitimate the CFP was in reference to BCS composite rankings of the last decade - The BCS formula changed so much, so what "BCS rankings" were actually used to legitimize the CFP?
      Somehow all of yall forgot that the BCS had insane levels of controversy leading to major polls like the AP refusing to be associated with them, and other sponsors literally getting convicted by the FBI for corruption. Like jesus christ talk about some revisionist history acting like this never happened.....

      2008 - the only undefeated teams in the league were in the G5 and both had Top 10 wins. ZERO G5 teams made a title. 3 G5 teams ranked in the top 10, yet only 1 made a major bowl.
      1971-1974 Toledo holds the 3rd longest win streak of all time - 3 seasons undefeated - they made ZERO bowl games despite being ranked in the Top 15 by AP every season and being a FBS Division 1 team.

      - at BYU
      - at UCF
      - vs Oklahoma State
      - at Oregon State
      - at Washington
      - vs UCF
      These are all OOC games notice how 12 of the 18 are on the road.
      This year they play Oregon, Oregon State, and Washington State.
      Next year they play Washington State and ND both on the road.
      The year after that they play Oregon, Cincinnati and Michigan State.
      You really chose the wrong team in your argument. BSU is the only program that dgaf and will schedule anyone anytime anywhere. They have 20 years of evidence doing this.

      @@MattBuild4We don’t agree. Plainly. But good chance 12 is G5 top team and plays 5 - also good chance that 5 is the “better” B1G/SEC #2 team as seems ACC/XII getting byes. That should give some indicator of G4 “deservingness”. Feels like Liberty v OR - type of repeat - but we shall see. I’d guess #5 by 13-21 Vegas odds. Decision made. Frankly 5/6 seeds IF BIG/SEC runners up very bad draws. The BBall “play ins” were DESIGNED so low seeds get at least a shot. Decision already made. I still say G5 should have a play in. BIG/SEC 2’s likely better than ACC/XII Champ. And SIX teams plenty. Frankly, BIG/SEC teams might PREFER to tie for 2nd lose tiebreak. Rest than play the top team in SEC/BIG and get a home game as a 7/8 seed which will be less wear and tear than the Conf Championship maybe lose then still be 7/8 seed. That extra game just extra punishment and tougher to win that and then 3 playoffs than winning 4 playoff games.

      Ok go ahead...... but just so you know doing this means you will get absolutely throated by the G5 in federal anti-trust lawsuits. And you better believe they got some serious receipts for the last 80 years.....
      The MWC literally submitted an 8 team playoff back in 2009... YALL CHOOSE to not support this because you wanted to maintain a monopoly on BCS bowls - this eventually led to a $2.7 BILLION federal case against the league.
      There is no contractual evidence that P5 vs G5 actually exists, its the very reason the CFP had to specify "so called P5" when talking about FSU's claims - because this terminology literally doesnt exist on paper. So in the eyes of a court youd be cutting 80 teams based on feelings - good luck with that.

    • @MattBuild4
      @MattBuild4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thats easy - Liberty. They go undefeated they make it its that simple. Based on history BSU could go undefeated and beat their opponent by 100 a game and they wont make it (the fact that they have more undefeated seasons than major bowl appearances illustrates this point extremely well).
      Boise is really hype because they have a bunch of unknowns and historically this is the exact same way 2008 started, which coincidentally is also the last time they played Oregon in Autzen and slaughtered a Top 10 Oregon. But, its a huge and ridiculous ask for this team to replicate that roster - they literally had 14 future NFL draft picks and a Top 10 All time college QB. I dont see it.
      Imo its more than likely Liberty or texas State who makes it on an undefeated season or a one loss Memphis. The MWC will cannibalize itself. there will be some upsets but expect similar outcomes for record of last season as the MWC OOC is yoked af again this season - the projected top 4 teams in the MWC play Michigan, Oregon, Utah and Texas all on the road.

      @MattBuild4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@scottyclayton2501 I dont like that though... If you go undefeated you deserve to make it. Its that simple. I think there can be arguments for an additional G5 team - like if Boise beats Oregon, but loses to like Washington State or something but goes 12-1. Liberty should still make it, but realistically if Oregon isnt overrated, the G5 team would literally have beaten a playoff team, so thats where we can run into controversy.
      This could also happen for Memphis, Frenso State, App State or UTSA.
      Plus dont dog a team for their first major bowl appearance ever. They didnt have the talent or schemes to win, but its also a learning experience. 2024 shouldnt define that university.

Every team should play pretty even schedules so then you truly are what your record says. It sucks to leave out undefeated teams because the players don’t pick the schedule but if Liberty had a low tier Big Ten team like Indiana I would be a lot more gracious towards them but since they joined CUSA they have either had trouble making good schedules or just don’t try, either way I don’t blame them because it worked last year
