Hi Cindy, that table at the Habitat was a humidor for cigars. I have a humidor that is a cabinet but they came in different types of furniture. I saw a lot of nice things at this Habitat/Reuse. Ours has nothing like that one did n they really jack up the prices too. Anyway you got a lot of cool stuff. Oh, forgot about that Ironstone pitcher n bowl. I couldn’t see the price but I’m sure to know if I was there I’d buy it. I collect Ironstone n love it. Hey, I thought those shorts looked cute on you especially with the shirt you got. I wish I could wear shorts but I’m to embarrass with the spider veins. It gets hot here in Florida too not wearing shorts. Sorry, I got off the beaten path hahaha. I’m sure it was nice spending time with your daughter n granddaughter. It’s so much fun to do things together n going thrifty too. Look forward to your makeovers. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟

Was just in Williamsburg this past weekend with my sister, camping. She's looking for a particular piece of furniture so im going to tell her about the hfh resell store. She lives in norfolk, so it wouldn't be a huge trip for her to run up there.
I believe the little silver cup is either a syllabub or punch cup. Love all your hauls! My favorite this haul is the pair of glass wall lamps. Just lovely…
You might be right about the silver cup. Someone else commented that it might be a baby cup to celebrate a birth. She suggested I look for an engraved name - sure enough the cup has ‘Scott’ engraved on it!

I know those thrift stores! Used to live in Williamsburg. You missed the CHKD on Mooretown Road and the Barhamsville Thrift. Two really good thrift stores. Barhamsville is only open on Saturdays. They moved to a different building since I moved from Williamsburg and I haven't made it there yet so I'm not sure of the address. Ask your daughter, she may know. Next time you have to go there. ❤ Nice finds.
I had to google Williamsburg, as I couldn't believe the prices in those Thrift stores. Whether you live in the States or in Canada. Yard sales are still the better option to find very nice things for a really good price, if you restore and resell the items. But only good if you have time on hand. lol I do love going into Thrift stores. Always bringing enough time with me to look around. Most of our items are from thrift stores, yard sales or inheritet items. And it comes together nicely. Love your videos!

Glazed items must go on a tripod item with spikes to hold it up so the glaze does not stick to the shelf in the kiln. The spikes made the "dimples" on your plates.
@@ReinventedDelaware oh the regrets! I have a lot of thrifting regrets as well😂 however my house is small and I do not have enough room for everything I want to get so I have to tell myself no. I regret not buying some things later. It doesn’t help me either that my husband is a minimalist. Otherwise I would buy more.
Here in N. ILL, I rarely see any nice old furniture, iron stone, old picture frames, ornate mirrors, or brass candle sticks in the thrift stores here. Shopping looks more fun in your area and in your daughters area!
I loved thrifting with my Mom, and you are so lucky to be doing that with your daughter and granddaughter! You both found some amazing things! I couldn't believe that the chair was only $2, and I thought for sure that it was going home with you. I could see you turning it into something beautiful! I can never find any white Ironstone in my area, not sure why that is. I hope the brass hanging pot is waiting for you....I loved it too!
Thanks so much Lori! That chair for two dollars would’ve come home with me if I didn’t have to stay in Virginia for another two weeks. They would’ve been perfect in my living room. That copper and brass hanging pot was not available even though my daughter went back a week later to get it so bummed! 😊

I’d been grabbing those silver plated pieces in Goodwill. I’ve got a booth for church bazaar in November and I love to redo them for Christmas. The blue top and shorts look fabulous on you. I like those stores.

The three little dents in the bottom of your plates are from the stands that are used to keep the glazed plates up off of the kiln shelf. If the glaze dripped during firing without the stand, the whole plate could be stuck on the shelf. With the stand, you just have a spot of glaze that can be broken off and sanded smooth. Much easier clean-up! Also, my mother-in-law had that same Norman Rockwell print. I always thought it was so cute!

Nope I’m not near Kansas at all! In fact, I’m all the way over on the east coast. But maybe that piece traveled long and far to get to the East Coast 😂😂😂

Those marks on the little plates are from "stilts" that are used in the glaze firing process.

yes, they use clay cones when firing pottery, i bet those dimples are from those plates being set on them when being fired in the kiln
