Acer Aspire 5738/5338 Disassembly. Corrupted BIOS due to corrosion.

- The BIOS got corrupted due to the corrosion on one of the memory sticks. Cleaning the corrosion and flashing the BIOS did the job.

U're using my favorite screwdriver.
Those Acer was popular here on their time and I have repaired plenty of them, and still got some of their new keyboards here at my shop
yep, i saw on your videos that you use the same screwdriver. I use mine for about 10 years now. Still do the job.

The battery is 2032 standard one.

How do I reset the bios? I had the same laptop it was given from my dad and it has bios password and I cannot enter the bios. How do I reset the bios via jumper I dont know where it is located.
You have to open the laptop, remove the CMOS battery and short the pins on the board. If that doesn't help, you have to use a non password bios, but you need a programmer to do this.
@LaptopDisassembly I have tried removing the cmos battery but that doesnt work. And on shorting the pins the probem is I dont know what pin and where it is located. I hoe you can help me locate the pin I should Short. Modem is 5738Z
@juliusformentera5255 when you remove the CMOS battery, you have to short the pins on the battery connector. But I doubt this will help. CMOS password can be removed with this method on the older laptops. These days you have to flash the bios with new one... Or try to use the bios password calculator.... Try to search on Google there is a 50/50 chance to do it like that.

I don't do intentional repairs. About the keyboard, it need to be replaced. I doubt the cable can be fixed. About the broken USB, go ti a repair shop and they will find a similar port and replace it.

How did you flash the new bios, via windows or with programer. Also try to remove the CMos battery and reset bios. Also replug the ram memory
@@LaptopDisassembly via Windows i ubdate bios, I clear CMOS I take out ram, no help, I try ubdate bios via crisis mode via USB flash no flashing, motherboard is dead?
If you did flash via windows and if it was wrong one, the flash tool should pop an error. So probably it was the right one. Try with only one ram or on different slot.
