How much love 💘 he gave to everyone, he was a puppy until his last trip, a sweet and strong puppy at the same time. God gave a great gift to the world and then, in order not to make it suffer any more, he brought it home. I will miss him forever. 😍❤️👑🎸🎶🍀✌️
You must read this book. Sally has researched every aspect of Elvis's life. There is so much information and insight. It will make you love Elvis even more than you already do.
The book is over three years old and still not publicly used by media and films. They either don't mention it or still continue to mention the drug abuse.
Elvis's generation trusted their Drs. Technically Elvis was killed by the Medical "profession" so was George Washington, Michael Jackson, Prince and recently Lisa Marie and Matthew Perry. Many others too.
There is another book on Elvis's medical history which is very interesting. It is written by the chief medical expert from the criminal trial of Dr Nick. The book is called "The Strange Medical Saga of Elvis Presley" for those who want to read it. The wonder is how Elvis kept on going in spite of his illnesses and pain, it makes you appreciate him even more ❤.
I didn’t like this book and found many inaccurate statements in it. He kept saying that Elvis weighed 350 lbs. When he died, which is ridiculous. I saw him in his casket and he probably didn’t weight much over 200. He still looked beautiful.
I have to agree with Jenny's comment. I also read this book and found so many inaccuracies. The only information I found in that book that struck me as true was that Elvis suffered from migraines due to a concussion he suffered in 1968. Too much of the rest of the book struck me as gossip re-hash.
@@jennyjorgensen9935 You are right. There is no way he weighed 350 pounds. His last concert, he looked like he weighed no more than 220-250 pounds. No one can gain 100 pounds in 2 months. His face was puffy and he had the belly of many middle aged men but I wouldn't call him obese, maybe 20-30 pounds overweight. The only exception is that he could have had something called anasarca where the body fills with fluids due to heart or liver failure and he did have both.
Thank you for sharing this, I just ordered this book after seeing your video. I truly believe he was suffering in silence. Those very close to him may have had an idea but very very few of them. Its very sad that he suffered so much alone. I've also read quite a bit that Elvis grew to dislike the movies he was contracted to make, he wanted to do more serious acting. He also wanted to do more gospel music, even tho he did quite a bit he still wanted to do more. If I had to pick a fav song it would be How Great Thou Art.
Thank you Ray, I hadn’t heard of this book before! I’m going to order it today… I had known he had medical problems as a youth also. I never bought into him being a druggie . He was such a sweet person and treated terrible by the media, I’ll love him forever ❤️
Really enjoyed this book. Downloaded it on my Kindle. It’s a good read. Elvis was very sick. It’s been reported that Vernon chose to seal Elvis autopsy report for 50 years which takes us to 2027. Not sure how true this is but I have definitely read this 🤷🏼♀️
I had also heard the 50 year rule, but just recently saw an article stating that private autopsies in TN were just that - private. A lot of it has been leaked by money hungry "friends" in any case. If what was stated in the article is true, the only person who could release the actual autopsy results would be Riley (and/or her sisters if they are of age in 2027). I am hoping it IS released just to give the lie to so much of the BS that has been told over the years. Hoedel's book talks about the drugs - and that they were all in therapeutic levels - none of them were at toxic or fatal levels.
Elvis had health issues but like entertainers today that suffer from addiction it's hard to really determine if maybe they over medicate themselves. Look how many people using pain killers end up over dosing. There have been critics of this book stating that genetics did not play a real problem with his health. Supposedly Vernon sealed his autopsy until 2027 we will see if we find out then.
Seriously? You can't compare entertainers of today who don't have a myriad of health issues and suffering from addiction of some sort to Elvis and what he was going through.... ridiculous.
When 2 cousins are your grandparents it developed a double gene called Alpha 1. He was 42 when he died his mother was 46 , her two brothers died in their 40's. Hostel says if he had never taken a drug he would have still died in hid 40's.
@@MaryJones-vo5nz Alpha 1 is not a DEATH SENTENCE!!!! Nor Double Gene - I have researched this extensively after hearing about this book - It is NOT A Death Sentence Dr's SAY!!!! Actually they say with cousins having children there is a 7 percent chance of it developing liver lungs etc issues - 7 PERCENT - My Older cousin is a Product of this!!! She is 62!!!!! I don't think they Know Everything about this YET
Didn't know this book existed. Thanks for posting this, it is fascinating. This goes some way to explain the on-stage rant about the people who were saying he was "strung out". He was sick, I wouldn't have known how sick without this kind of research and presentation of the facts. He hid it so well. Makes me love him more ❤
Whatever the truth about health, addiction etc. , it is unbelievable that he worked so much through sickness. I understand that times were different and he is a special case due to his fame and he was stubborn etc. But it is still unfathomable to me that he was not given a break to focus on his health and his daughter.
Maaaaaaan, u think u might be able to get to Interview her? Would love to hear your as a „new“ fan questions! Youre insightful and I think it would be an awesome Addition to your channel. Much love
Elvis had real ailments and he had a lot of early death in his family. when he died his heart was 3 times enlarged, but he made some poor choices with his health in his later years in his food and drugs. His health really seemed to go down when he went back to touring. The travel really took a toll on him it seems
To some extent, Elvis really liked touring because it put him in touch with the fans. He said that live performances were what he loved best about the business. On the other hand, Parker booked so many back to back performances that it had to take a physical toll. Common opinion is that the Aloha concert was the last where Elvis was "really healthy" but in fact, he had crash dieted to lose 25 pounds before the concert, so the dress rehearsal and the concert itself completely exhausted him. And his illnesses were taking more of a toll. His mother's health deteriorated greatly in the last four years of her life, and Elvis followed that pattern.. He also had to be aware of the premature deaths of many of Gladys' male relatives, and I think he knew he wouldn't make old bones, either.
@@Kathryne0816 Totally agree. He most certainly would have known. And with his live-long struggles (including easily gaining weight), IMO he just plumb wore himself out. It appears he was severely depressed & the lethal frosting on the cake, his supposed friends for life exposing his problems to the world in a book & after Priscilla had placed a lien on Graceland to get more $. It breaks my heart how hurt he must have been but still kept plodding along, no matter how weak or how much pain, to pay the bills & keep Graceland. He shouldn't have been that cash-strapped but he gave it all away due to his generous spirit. Truly heartbreaking.
@@Kathryne0816 Hey Miss Kathryne 🙋 This has nothing to do with the conversation here but something else. To begin: I don't like being negative. It simply is not in my nature. So when you expressed your opinion on AI a few weeks back I did not really think before responding (I should have given it more thought.) I do agree that this AI business is art piracy and can have potentially ruinous consequences. Why I bring this up now: The Tennessee state governor recently signed a bill into law protecting singers and songwriters both past and present against AI voice covers and those who would profit from it. The bill signed into law is called The ELVIS ACT. I just thought you would like to know this. Tennessee set a precedent too doing this. They are the first state to do so and they also may be the first place in the world to do so. TCB ⚡ & TLC ❤ & God bless to you & yours, Miss Kathryne ✌🙏💕
Its also a way to make Elvis’ fans feel better by explaining away his heavy drug use. When asked why they couldn’t stop his drug use, one of his Men said that he liked the drugs and he would lie to get them.
Jazz? I heard he wanted to go back to doing more Gospel. What he really loved. I have this book & totally agree with her. Sadly, the truth isn't as popular as a big headline full of lies.... Only fans will read this.
Sally just commented on Facebook about being on a reaction channel. She thought that would never happen and she didn't caare if her name was pronounced wrong.
Elvis's death to me was a combination of factors. Maybe it can be possibile he also had some original health's issues to face. If I'm not wrong Lisa Marie suffered from something similar, that maybe was genetic. No doubt in both cases addiction was a big component to their issues 😢
@@vibereacts05 It'd be better if they said why. I mentioned Amazon and Kindle - did they think I was giving free advertisements, I wonder? Whatever. Get the book Ray, can't recommend enough.
If anyone has a Link in account, can you look her up and see if anything besides this book of hers is listed as a previous job? Something is fishy to me about this. Gut feeling.
She is a journalist she did real research, read her book. How many people do you know who had Alpha 1 the double gene. He died at 42, his mom died at 46 and her 2 brothers died in their mid 40's, stop trying to smear the truth.
@@jennyjorgensen9935 -- I am sure that a lot of the people that have read her book do respect her. Hermione Lee (whom I know nothing about) is apparently a highly respected, top author. Stephen King is a respected author. JK Rowling is a respected and disrespected author. A lady by the name of Misha Defonseca was well respected and admired for roughly 11 years until it was found that she lied about her ordeal and identity (information I found online listing and briefly detailing 5 (I believe) authors for fraudulent, nonfiction works). I don't know whether to accept Sally's biographical work(s) on Elvis or not; something in my gut tells me not to "blindly" believe all of what she's presenting as truth. Nothing wrong with skepticism and/or gut feelings.
To be honest this woman make no sense. I didn't learn anything new, but someone else might, if they know little to zero about Elvis. The author is not an expert, is not a direct family member and is not a friend of Elvis or even an acquaintance of his. How she knew Elvis had genetic diseases. And saying the reason that he got genetic illness because his maternal grandparents were cousin. Yes first cousins are somewhat more likely than unrelated parents to have a child with a serious birth defect, but scientists say the risk is not large. The risk that a child will be born with a major birth defect, is 1.7 to 2.8 percentage. Most of his uncles & cousins from Gladys side didn't only day normal death, some died from alcoholism and drugs. He had uncle's and cousin who lived old ages, his cousin billy smith is still alive in his 80s. If Elvis was sick since childhood. How did he passed his army physical test. He and other inductees would spend time in the Army Hospital for processing and physicals test. His medical army report said he was healthy. I have seen interviews and read articles about pathologists who did Elvis autopsy, they said his organs were ok and he didn't have an heart attack. Elvis's autopsy has not been made public. The author states this or that about its findings. How would she know? She can't know. It's just a cash grab book.
She has doctors reports. When you have been fed lies all these years you will refuse to believe truth. His mothers parents were first cousins it produced Alpha 1 a double gene, in most states intermarriage is illegal. He died at 42, his mother died at 46 and her 2 brothers died in their 40's. Sure drugs didn't help but he would have still died in his 40's.
She interviews experts, and if your grandparents intermarried and were first cousins, you don't think it would be harmful? these are facts. It is still illegal in most states, he was an Alpha 1 look it up, a double gene which meant he inherited all the health problems from past relatives. The autopsy said that all his systems were blocked except 3. You say well he took drugs. Had he never taken a drug he still would have died in his 40's like his mother who died at 46 and her two brothers died in their 40's. No one knew about Alpha 1 in his era. And as far as taking drugs, why is Ozzie still alive, why is Stephen Tyler still alive. Get smart.
It doesn't affect every sibling! It can skip some! A person can have several children and only one can be unfortunate enough to carry the gene! I read up on this years ago and have actually watched programs in the subject by professionals! In my own family on my mother's side, from my grandfather on through his 6 children they all died young in their 40s and early 50s from heart disease and other medical issues. Her baby brother at age 32. Her oldest brother lived into his early 80s. My own 3 half siblings passed in their late 40s, I just turned 76! My mother's oldest sister had 6 children and all passed of heart disease (same as my siblings) except for 2. One was killed in Vietnam and one is left out of 6. Do your research on the subject.
@@Mary-d5x6g Who are those experts? Did they examine and diagnose Elvis? There are so many books about Elvis, many claim they are experts but never met or examined him. It may happen but It is not a condition that you get genetic defeat if your grandparents intermarried and were first cousins. First cousin marriage is far more common in other cultures around the world and far less dangerous than many of us have been led to believe. The rate of defects between unrelated people is around 2% and the rate of defects between first cousins is around 4%. That means that 98% of the time there is no difference between children of first cousins compared with children of unrelated people. Saying he had a genetic condition because his maternal grandparents were first cousins is not proof. Yeah, I know what alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency is. It is a protein made mainly by your liver. My grandfather was diagnosed with it when he was 25. He lived until 80 years old. How did you know what the autopsy said? His autopsy was sealed by his father Vernon. No one knows what was in the autopsy. I didn't mention drugs in my comment. How did you & the author know that he was going to die with or without drugs? Are you God? His mom was worried about him so much and she was a drinker. Alcoholism ran in his family. That's why he hated drinking alcohol because it killed his mom. She developed hepatitis that caused her to develop liver problems and died from a heart attack at 46. You said no one knew about Alpha 1 in his era. You're wrong, they did know about it. It was first discovered in the early 60s. You keep repeating the same things the author said in interviews. If he took drugs, why are Ozzie, Steven Tyler and those other rock stars who took drugs still alive? What kind of nonsense question is this. I don't know if you believe in God, but the exact time of a person's death is known only to God. The way in which each of us will die and when is known only to God. Elvis was his time to go to his maker, like Michael Jackson, Prince, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bon Scott, Marilyn Monroe. Why did they die young because it was their time to go. You need to be smart and keep your faith strong in God because everything is in God's hands.
@@sandralybrand9425 I know about it. I lived in Asian countries and first-cousin marriage is common there. I know it can skip some but my point is how did she know Elvis had defect in his gene without a genetic test or his autopsy report?

How much love 💘 he gave to everyone, he was a puppy until his last trip, a sweet and strong puppy at the same time. God gave a great gift to the world and then, in order not to make it suffer any more, he brought it home. I will miss him forever. 😍❤️👑🎸🎶🍀✌️
I 've wanting to get her book ! Ray thankyou so much ray for reacting to this I hear it's an awsome read !😊❤
You must read this book. Sally has researched every aspect of Elvis's life. There is so much information and insight. It will make you love Elvis even more than you already do.
I’ve read Sally’s book and it’s one of the best books on Elvis out there!
Thanks for this video.
Don't forget Elvis acted and I think was in the army
Absolutely he spent 2 years in the Army right at the pinnacle of his career.
This video is great! ❤
It's a great book and it really makes you look at Elvis' life in a different way.
I am so grateful to Sally for doing her research and getting the Truth out!❤
Thank you for sharing this, I just ordered this book after seeing your video.
I've read her book and I highly recommend it.
Really interesting Elvis video.🤗❤Thank you Ray.
See what happens when you don't have facts, people just assumed stuff about Elvis, not right. He deserves respect, good job Sally!
I read this book! It’s great.
Thank you Ray, I hadn’t heard of this book before! I’m going to order it today… I had known he had medical problems as a youth also. I never bought into him being a druggie . He was such a sweet person and treated terrible by the media, I’ll love him forever ❤️
reading this book will change your world. She is an amazing journalist.
Have this book. Truly an interesting read as a Nurse. It can be slow reading in part and the rest is so fast. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing! It's about time the truth came out! ❤❤❤❤❤
Anyone that loves Elvis should read this book. I have and will read it again. It answers so many questions. Thank you Sally A Hoedel for the book
New King Los! 🔥🙌🏼
I don't think I could choose a favorite song.
No Ray you said Hoedel right..this goof guy said it wrong....😂
Hostel says if he had never taken a drug he would have still died in hid 40's.
calm yourself don't always take what you read from someone's book as the bible
when it is researched and confirmed in many ways, you can believe it more than sick rumors.
It was very common in those days for cousins to marry.
I’m currently reading her book, so far it’s good. Definitely lots of information in this book. I think it’s important for everyone to read this book
Like Sally has said in an interview, Elvis medicated to Live!😭
I saw this interview and then bought the book. It is very good and recommended to any Elvis fan. Read it so you can dismiss the lies.
This is a great book and I got a signed copy
Reminds me of Ren and the artist he is through his illness.
You gotta read this book. It is amazing.

@@Kathryne0816 Hey Miss Kathryne 🙋
This has nothing to do with the conversation here but something else.
To begin: I don't like being negative. It simply is not in my nature. So when you expressed your opinion on AI a few weeks back I did not really think before responding (I should have given it more thought.)
I do agree that this AI business is art piracy and can have potentially ruinous consequences.
💙❤💯🙏
The army got him hooked on prescription drugs!!!!
Ray. You need to react to “NFL Films Presents Elvis Presley”
I've this video by ESPN.
Sally did. Over 2 years of research before writing the book. She talked to family members Drs and specialists etc.
Elvis’s father had his autopsy locked away until the 50th anniversary of his death. The entire autopsy will not be revealed until then.
Ray don't play with paper cuts!!
He was not drug abuse. He was very sick.
Elvis's death to me was a combination of factors. Maybe it can be possibile he also had some original health's issues to face. If I'm not wrong Lisa Marie suffered from something similar, that maybe was genetic. No doubt in both cases addiction was a big component to their issues 😢
Curious if there were treatments that could have helped Elvis
He abused drugs. We still love him. He was an incredible human being. Hope to see him singing in Heaven.
I take it that my original post was deleted because I mentioned something that violated the rules?
Did it omg i hate when youtube does thag
She is a respected author.
AY RAY you see churches recent video?
