Bts is my favorite group of all time. But Stray Kids are so so important to me. They are literally my life line. Bang Chan does live streams on Vlive every weekend to talk to the fans and playing music he enjoys and you cannot imagine how comforting it is to know he’s always there and that he’s not going away. Stray Kids are often called comfort idols, and I f you get to know them a little better you will quickly understand why. Hearing them talk feels like listening to a friend. I have and probably will never meet these people, but I can confidently say I would trust them with my life. People often underestimate how much idols can mean to someone. Bang Chan is quite literally the reason I am still alive. They saved me and they were there for me when no one else was.
The covers they did for Day6 songs, they don’t get in trouble or sum because they are actually in the same company as them.
I hope you guys really take your time to know our boys for yourself and not listen to what people say about them. I'm saying this because I saw a comment and I feel misinformation might affect your opinion on some members in the group.

With Bang Chan having been a trainee for as long as he was, I'm sure that his level of knowledge was such that JYP absolutely trusted him and his judgement. And you're right, I don't know of any other groups that the agency's allowed to self-select. As for Minho (Lee Know) being a trainee for such a short period of time (fun fact), a casting agent from JYP spotted him while he was a back-up dancer on the BTS tour in 2017 - so it really didn't take him very long to round out his other talents.

As far as I know most/all of the covers they've done are also JYP artists, such as Day6 and Twice.
the main thing why they most likely would not just leave JYP is because to get popular and get your name out their groups need an outlet so big companies are pretty much their advertisements. And usually groups contracts lasts for about 7 years then to renew them, and I’m not absolutely sure about SKZ but they are still a fairly newer group so if I missed something please tell me👍
ps. this is just my speculations so if you don’t agree with me then I guess we have different views

Good thing about SKZ.. The members are selfless.. It's because they have the freedom of making their own songs that's why the member's exposure are equally the same. If you would see on their albums, one might not have as many lines in one song but they will get a lot of lines in the other. Or they would try to highlight a member in a different way like in choreo and such.. This is why most of the fans love all the members.. Unlike in other groups chosed by their company.. Mostly, only popular or most talented gets the highlight thus leaving other members behind.
But you will not see it in SKZ, they lift each other up.. They know when to step in if it involves their specialty & they know how to listen when needed. Each members are exceptional in their own way making the other get's inspired even more. Very hard working & talented. And their love for each other & fans is legit. You'll know what i mean when u know them more.

When y'all started talking about how Stray Kids could leave JYP after the contracts ends and make their own thing because they're so raw and know how to do almost everything, I immediately thought about the boygroup Highlight, previously known as BEAST because that's exactly what they did! They left CUBE in 2016 because they were being mistreated and mismanaged and formed their own company, AroundUs Entertainment. They've been in the industry since 2009.

unfortunately a lot of korean entertainment companies are just as bad or have their own set of problems :( but yea jype isnt great in a lot of aspects. lately stray kids themselves had to ask sasaengs (stalker """fans""") to stop waiting outsides their dorm because jype hasn't done anything about it. and you KNOW they're pissed when Seungmin of all people, who is always incredibly sweet and calm, asks the sasaengs "what on earth is wrong with you???" like this has been an ongoing problem

I don't think they would get in trouble especially since day6 is in the same company as them (jyp) but even if it was from a group or artist from another company they probably wouldn't get in trouble.. it happens all the time in kpop especially with iconic songs that everyone knows

SKZ are a self producing group for all the music aspect but they still need JYPE for managment, promotion, (organizing the tours, interviews, making and selling the physical albums etc) and they help them with choregraphies and if they want for the music etc

Just a note: JYP copyrights the groups under their label for 10 years so the groups have to wait if they leave the company to use the group name. It's common in the kpop industry.
Year old comment, but for anyone who may watch this video from today on, and read this comment. The only thing JYPE owns of "Stray Kids" branding is their stage names. The members own the group name as well as all of their music. "Stray Kids" the name and the logo were picked and hand drawn by BangChan himself. Because JYP didn't know enough about the members and their style to pick their name. 🖤 They are completely self-made and therefore self owned. JYPE was basically their financial and legal backing. (SKZ basically had to do all of their own promotion throught their schedules, which they also controlled.) They were their financial backing, but today it's more the other way around. Bascom, Stray Kids pay them to help guide them in certain career moves, and provide them with the Division1 staff they love. They are not however owned by the company.
