I don't understand why most people or swifties think Lover is her weakest album despite the fact that it is my best taylor album. It's lyrically beautiful with different beat.
Owen WS Agreed. But can we blame her? She said she doesn't want another 1989 era because of the too much exposure and fame. She said she doesn't want to go through that again. We can't blame her for releasing singles that are questionable. At least her single choices this time have stories behind why they are released unlike rfi, eg, and delicate. Imo, if she released Cruel Summer as the lead, followed by The Man then Lover then Cornelia St. It would have been so successful.
“I've found time can heal most anything” -15, Taylor Swift “I hope never lose, hope it never end. I’d never walk Cornelia Street, that’s the kind of heartbreak time could never mend” -Cornelia Street I just love the growth.
And suddenly this song just became the most heartbreaking song she wrote. I still can't believe what's happening right now, I will never move on from this.

I'm so happy you guys also recognized it! It's kind of like a cute easter egg for the 13 years of Taylor. 💛😊 Honestly, I feel so excited and happy for the first hour Lover has been out!
This song has been my “hope on love song”, the one song I’d listen to when I’d lose hope on love. The way Taylor describes her memories with Joe in such a detailed yet simple but powerful way, would just bring me back to believing that the romantic type of forever lasting love must be real. I’d listen back to “King of My Heart” and that one line in “Call It What You Want” that says “I did one thing right”, and even though they’re also powerful songs and I’d admired the fact that her relationship endured through one of her toughest times in her career, it was just the beginning of their story. But then “Lover” came out bringing us this masterpiece, and ever since, just like Taylor said herself, I would as well “hope I (she) never lose(s) you (him)” thinking “I’d never walk (believe) Cornelia street (in love) again”. Years would go by, and with every album, every song (their colabs together), my hope on love would grow stronger. I’m heartbroken and almost skeptical of the news about their breakup, and even though I kinda wanna give up on love, I’d still come back to this song. All I have left to say is thank you Taylor, thank you for this masterpiece, we stand by you.
The thing is, even though they broke up, their love was real. They really did love each other and probably still do. Most times, you don't love someone for six years of your life without giving them a piece of your heart. Even though it didn't last, they really loved each other, and I'm not sure why they broke up, but my guess is they decided they both wanted different things out of life, and if you and your partner don't share similar goals and values, most times it won't work even if you do love each other more than anything. Their love can still give you hope for love. Having the opportunity to love someone who loves you just as much... it's not something you'd want to miss out on, even if it doesn't last.
And the thing that I think a lot of swifties are going through with the Jaylor break up is if Taylor can lose this kind of love anyone can. If it happened to her it could happen to me too. And I’m finally with someone I feel this way about. But if she can lose it I can too.
I think it was a bad sign early on she had this anxiety about what if she lost him in the future. Unfortunately it was a self fulfilling prophecy. With the right relationship you never feel this anxiety. You feel completely secure and confident it will last forever.

Cornelia Street in Nashville where she started her career Cornelia Street in NYC where she lived while a feud with Kayne West Cornelia Street in London where Joe Alwyn lived *ugh her mind*
@@BT-ip8um Cornelia street in London is about an hour walk from where Joe lived. It's definitely not about London. I live in London and the area around Cornelia street is surely not a place where someone like Taylor would live. Not that it's a bad area.
We all know she's the best when she wrote a song or an album all by herself. Remember Speak Now? It just felt so relatable and heartfelt. I just don't understand why she needs collaborators. For me, when she does collaborations, her songs are worst.
That part from 3:26 - 3:44 where there's only a piano playing and she sings "I hope I never lose you... I'd never walk Cornelia street again... never again." really hits hard. You can feel the pure sincerity behind those words in her voice. 😭💕
For me, I think "Cornelia Street" represents a place in their story where they have romantic memories together, a place that is part of the story where they fall in love. But the line "I'd never walk Cornelia Street again" has an underlying meaning that could be "I'd never fall in love again". Just read this line from the song. "And I hope I never lose you; I hope it never ends. I'd never walk Cornelia Street again." She's simply hoping she will never lose this person; she's hoping it will never end. Because if it ends and she loses him, she does not want to walk again down Cornelia Street alone and remember those happy memories with this person. It's heartbreaking, but it simply means she does not want to fall in love again. (yup, Cornelia Street is a real place)
Yeah the street of memories, this obviously holds a significant purpose towards the start of their relationship, it might’ve been the time she knew he was the one. And she figured it out pretty early on in the relationship, ‘we were a fresh page on the desk, filling in the blanks as we go’ (getting to know each other)
Lime Green that’s the joys of owning your work. She didn’t own any of her first 6 and due to this being the first album she owns she can do what she wants with it and upload the whole album like she did.
What is it with Taylor's songs, I listen to a song like this for a couple of times and then all of sudden I need to listen to it everyday at least 5 or 6 times. This woman is prodigious.
Have you noticed that all the songs Taylor wrote herself are much longer than others which were written in collab with other authors ... (Cornelia Street, Daylight) I think that's because Taylor put all of her emotions and feelings into them without having to compensate her writing style with anyone ... she just wrote another amazing story.
Andreja Ketiš Radič Fun fact. Every song that Taylor wrote herself are either 10-20 mins long. The whole Speak Now album is the perfect example for this until she cut them to shorter time.
Why is this the best song of the album for me - love the lyrics and the story - the rhythm😻 - the details, rain dropping sound at 0:03, she is sitting in the car, the sound of the wiper at 4:06, but the frequency is slowly deceasing, the rain is stopping soon, 4:31, the rain stopped, she pulled the handle of the car door and left. She is a genius! edit:One more easter egg, cornelia street can be found in NYC, Nashville and London, which can be refer to her career, her home/family, her soul mate. PS: this is the only comment of mine that has over 1000 likes, thanks guys.
@@stiiigabayheh3 well, i don't recall writing that comment, and i changed my mind now (or maybe it was a weird sarcastic comment, who knows) but commercial success doesn't equal quality anyway
This song won't probably end up as a single, but it will forever be my favorite from her Lover album. Her love for her lover just shines through the lyrics. ♥️
It's not about her lover as she was single at the time she wrote it, this song happens in the time frame reputation was released, that's where the memory is from
All too well: Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place Cornelia street: Autumn air, jacket round my shoulders is yours. All too well: So casually cruel in the name of being honest Cornelia street: I say casually in the car All too well: We dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator light Cornelia street: barefoot in the kitchen, sacred new beginnings.
I remember when Lover just came out and we were all freaking out abt the differences between lover and rep. now it’s midnights and ttpd. she’s grown up so much.
We are all listening to this song and thinking of our own "cornelia street" or it's just me? 😭 "That's the kind of heartbreak time would never mend, I'd never walk cornelia st. again" it's a metaphor for being so much in love with a person that you know if he breaks your heart, you'd never love anyone the same again and thinking that you can't go to the same place you went with him once your relationship ends because it would bring too much memories about you two.😭❤️
@PM - 12ZZ 586147 West Credit SS i think "city screams your name" is a metaphor for being so much in love/ being into the person. To the point that being with that someone, the world seems so loud but the only thing you could hear is that person.
This actually brought tears to my eyes! I lived on Cornelia Street in Sioux City, IA were I grew up, until I was 18. I have so many memories there!! I miss my house. My dad just pasted away a few years ago. Almost 3 years on Sept. 4th. It was the last time I was there. He lived there for 35 years. I miss my hometown and Cornelia street so much! ❤
Wow. Peace to you. You must have gotten such goose bumps and all the feels when you heard this. It's so cool when a song so relates to your life. It'll be special forever.
3:17 there is strong ‘invisible’ beat vibe, from Taylor Swift album, when she sing “we could be a beautiful, miracle, unbelievable, instead of just be invisible”
"And baby, I get mystified by how this city screams your name..." This line sums up everything, not just the Cornelia Street but entire city has the memories of love etched in it.
How did she go from “i hope i never lose you…” to “stop, you’re losing me” to “you’re the loss of my life” 😭💔 this is now one of her saddest & most tragic songs 😭
Unpopular fact: If you listen carefully the last time she sings the chorus you can listen like the time is reversing....Something like she is reversing the time to back siting in the car and it actually never ends . Thats why she finishes with the verses from the beginning. GENIUS!
and also if you listen closely, in the end you can hear the sound of a car windshield so in the pictures like they were in the back seat in a car SHES A GENIUS
It just makes me so happy that everytime I look in the comment section of every taylor swift song, there are always comments about: how they relate to the song, how they always loved taylor swift's songwriting, how they noticed references from her old music, how they noticed taylor's maturity in her lyrics and so many more. Ahhh many "trendy" artists right now can't relate.

I'd never walk Cornelia Street again."
She's simply hoping she will never lose this person; she's hoping it will never end. Because if it ends and she loses him, she does not want to walk again down Cornelia Street alone and remember those happy memories with this person. It's heartbreaking, but it simply means she does not want to fall in love again.
(yup, Cornelia Street is a real place)
Damn this hits differently, i wont back to my ex anymore too!
Sorry for ba denglish
sobbing, crying, screaming, throwing up
Yeah the street of memories, this obviously holds a significant purpose towards the start of their relationship, it might’ve been the time she knew he was the one. And she figured it out pretty early on in the relationship, ‘we were a fresh page on the desk, filling in the blanks as we go’ (getting to know each other)
It’s a real street and I think that is what this song is talking about
@@reignhansen4771 You do realize that lyrics can have more than one meaning, right?
Well this just became the most tragic thing she’s ever written
I hope I never lose you taylor

The mood💞
Not to mention the lyrics too

Omg this song is going to be a go-to crying song for me now.
What is it with Taylor's songs, I listen to a song like this for a couple of times and then all of sudden I need to listen to it everyday at least 5 or 6 times. This woman is prodigious.
Because it's honest and heartfelt and relatable. I feel the same way too 😭
Me too ,she is just an incredible woman

I did lol.
cornelia street used to make me happy and feel butterflies before, now i couldn't help but shed tears whenever this song comes up
Have you noticed that all the songs Taylor wrote herself are much longer than others which were written in collab with other authors ...
The whole Speak Now album is the perfect example for this until she cut them to shorter time.
j.d. cor Omggg but I would definitely listen to her 10-20 min songs!!!
“ time can heal most anything.”
“that’s the kinda heartbreak that time could never mend.” PLS IM CRYING
My entire heart 💓💓
"that's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend" that's how you know He/She is the one !!
She really never will walk Cornelia Street again. Sending you love Taylor. xx
🎉🎉🎉😂
Why is this the best song of the album for me
- love the lyrics and the story
- the rhythm😻
- the details, rain dropping sound at 0:03, she is sitting in the car, the sound of the wiper at 4:06, but the frequency is slowly deceasing, the rain is stopping soon, 4:31, the rain stopped, she pulled the handle of the car door and left. She is a genius!
edit:One more easter egg, cornelia street can be found in NYC, Nashville and London, which can be refer to her career, her home/family, her soul mate. PS: this is the only comment of mine that has over 1000 likes, thanks guys.
Because Taylor wrote this song on her own.
I think it's such a terrific song too.
yeaaaahhhhhh! Dude! Her mind!
and in 3:26 before 'i hope i never lose you', its like time stop sounds

Cornelia Street isn't just a street. Cornelia Streat is a place that you get stuck in. Cornelia Street is a pain that you can't erase.

Reputation did
@@katerinemiranda516 no it did not there is reason why 1989 was commercially way more successful!

All too well: Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place
Cornelia street: Autumn air, jacket round my shoulders is yours.
All too well: So casually cruel in the name of being honest
Cornelia street: I say casually in the car
All too well: We dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator light
Cornelia street: barefoot in the kitchen, sacred new beginnings.
All too well: that little town street
Cornelia street: Cornelia street
All too well: I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here
Cornelia Street: We were a fresh page on the desk.
Wow. You guys are very insightful. I wouldn't have picked up on those connections.
HER MIND OMFG
All too well: Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone
Cornelia street: walk me back to my apartment, years ago we were just inside

We are all listening to this song and thinking of our own "cornelia street" or it's just me? 😭
"That's the kind of heartbreak time would never mend, I'd never walk cornelia st. again"
it's a metaphor for being so much in love with a person that you know if he breaks your heart, you'd never love anyone the same again and thinking that you can't go to the same place you went with him once your relationship ends because it would bring too much memories about you two.😭❤️
Everyone has a Cornelia Street😭 including with friendships
@PM - 12ZZ 586147 West Credit SS i think "city screams your name" is a metaphor for being so much in love/ being into the person. To the point that being with that someone, the world seems so loud but the only thing you could hear is that person.
@PM - 12HC 586147 West Credit SS that's an interesting perspective
@@JF-ct5sg yup 😞

This actually brought tears to my eyes! I lived on Cornelia Street in Sioux City, IA were I grew up, until I was 18. I have so many memories there!! I miss my house. My dad just pasted away a few years ago. Almost 3 years on Sept. 4th. It was the last time I was there. He lived there for 35 years. I miss my hometown and Cornelia street so much! ❤

I can't tell if it brought tears to my eyes by the domg or I'm really tired... probably a bit of both 😂😂
3:17 there is strong ‘invisible’ beat vibe, from Taylor Swift album, when she sing “we could be a beautiful, miracle, unbelievable, instead of just be invisible”
YESSSSS I HEAR IT NOW THAT U POINT IT OUT 🔥😢🔥
Yeah ur ryt....
YESS
I CAME HERE LOOKING FOR THAT COMMENT. YES.
Bella Heisler same 😁
"And baby, I get mystified by how this city screams your name..." This line sums up everything, not just the Cornelia Street but entire city has the memories of love etched in it.
How did she go from “i hope i never lose you…” to “stop, you’re losing me” to “you’re the loss of my life” 😭💔 this is now one of her saddest & most tragic songs 😭
Unpopular fact:
If you listen carefully the last time she sings the chorus you can listen like the time is reversing....Something like she is reversing the time to back siting in the car and it actually never ends . Thats why she finishes with the verses from the beginning.
GENIUS!
Whaaaaaaattt? Amazing
OMG I LIKED IT BUT I NEVER GAVE IT TOO MUCH THOUGHT I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN NO "SOUND EFFECT" IS THERE WITHOUT REASON OMGGGGGG
and also if you listen closely, in the end you can hear the sound of a car windshield so in the pictures like they were in the back seat in a car SHES A GENIUS
