I honestly like the stop-motion animations in the cutscenes.
I think they’re cute and part of the crafty aesthetic.

Yeah his design and defeat is a reference to Yoshis Islands 'Burt the Bashful'. (He was pretty easy in that game). Spike the Piranha is I believe a reference to Navel Piranha. They fought similar. As for Mr. Geary... I guess he could be a reference to Tap Tap? That one IDK. I'm taking a guess since Tap Tap you had to push into lava.
