I'm pretty certain that the childs voice at the station isnt an actual recording but TTS, text to speak, it cant say 'mobile phone' properly! Spent a while the other day trying to work out what was being said, ha. Havent been to Newton yet, think i'll leave it while.... cheers Bill
If you have the bank app on your phone you should be able to deposit a cheque using that. Would save you a few quid in travel. I haven't been to Newton in a while so good to see what they're up to with the new layout.
Yes, but that's only for UK checks or cheques that are payable in Pounds Stirling - The US Dollar $ cheques have to go into a branch - Always been that way, but not to worry - That was the last cheque I expect to receive in $s as they pay me digitally direct now 👍👍👍
And to top off the road works bill, wetherspoons ran out of lager and draught the other day bill 😂 I was in newton and thought I'd go and get a lager and lime 😢
Some people don't like Newton....I always enjoy a mooch around. Coffee and cheese scone in my favourite shop, Austins!!! Lovely!! Enjoyed the train journey Bill. I had a trips to Okehampton, Totnes (South Devon Railway) and Plymouth and then onto Calstock recently. Let the train take the strain. That's one of the many Lovely things about living in Tinny - so much on our doorstep!! Nice one!!

I used to eat there EVERYTIME I came I came to Newton Abbot in the 80s & 90s - But I'd have to say I honestly have never been in there since they changed hands 👍
It’s an incredible mess at Newton, really feel for the locals, still a great place with plenty of history and decent shops. Sad to see game gone , sign of the times, bought my Nintendo of that branch. The old platform switching game , what fun that is , patsy regularly gets caught out with that one and the peppa pig voice on the stairs again……Arghhhhh! See you tomorrow
lol child is back. not much room with the works the chips looked lovely. lol nice FGW 150 looking on RTT i can see why it went to platfrom 3 its because a exmouth to paignton was a bit late making the cross county late so they wanted to put paignton into 1 so they can put the voyager to plymouth into 2. does that make sense
Yes, lots of problems behind the scenes - 90% of business owners effected were against it, but they went ahead anyway - And gave the contract to a Cornish based firm, so not even kept the work to within Devon... This is the same guy who says theres no budget to dredge Dawlish brook - Even when the equipment and man-hours are being provided for free! 👍👍👍

Have you tried the chippy near the cinema , think it’s called market fish bar , it’s the only place I go to as spot on fish and chips ,
