I remember seeing Cartoon Network bumpers promoting the show back in 2013, but I never actually watched it until earlier this year. It's about what I expected.
Grojband was a wholly unique show with a silly premise and fantastic music, and I miss it dearly. I should definitely give it a rewatch Thank you very much for covering it
Heck yeah I do this was definitely one of the most memorable shows in my childhood and I find the idea of them getting the lyrics to their song by getting the mc’s sister so mad that she writes it in her diary completely hilarious.
I LOVED Grojband! It was so underrated when it was out. Trina/Corey's hateship was my favorite. Lowkey, they're both psychopaths. And y'know how most siblings, despite constant bickering will be there for each other when it really counts? Absolutely does not exist for their relationship. They will savor and celebrate each other's downfall with zero regrets. It is, in fact, refreshing in its own way. Especially since I was deep into the Gravity Falls fandom at the time, and the sibling dynamic in THAT show was wonderfully fresh in the exact opposite way. Hahaha
My favorite song was “You’re so untrue.” I think I liked it especially because it deviated from my expectations of the shows songs with Laney being the main singer and the song having anger as its main emotion. All the songs were bangers as far as I remembered.
Honestly it is a really underrated show, i remember watching it as a kid not on cartoon network, as here in italy aired on a channel named K2 where at the time a lot of shows like total drama, sidekicks, looped, yin yang yo (when jetix wasn't a thing anymore) aired. Something i always loved about the show were both the character designs and the animation style, i always found it very charming. Really hyped for the rest of fringemas, great video as usual man!
Love Grojband! That art from the same designer behind Total Drama, Stoked and 6Teen cannot be ignored! Its a funny show that sadly didnt last as long as it ther contemporaries...sad shame cuz i love it.😢❤
I just started started this show a few weeks ago. So, the last I was expecting is that a youtuber I know covering this show (imagine how much my heart dropped)
Another Fringemas, another video about a Canadian production. I don't really have much to say except for a couple of notes, one of which is a bit personal. 1: The skull on Duncan's shirt wasn't just reused in Grojband-it also appeared in another show Todd Kaufmann co-created, Sidekick, as part of Eric's shirt design. 2: Alyson Court, the voice of Trina, attended my local comic con last year. I didn't get to meet her, but she did reply to a tweet of mine and even tagged Todd, who liked it. Another great video, Jordan. And I'm super pumped for your 20+ hour Sidekick video for this year's Fringemas.
Oh my god i loved this show SO MUCH growing up, i was so bummed when i found out it only had 1 season. If it's possible i would definitely love another season mainly because of more lore such as corey's and trina's origins which would've been pretty fun to execute and see it in the actual storyline rather than it being a concept.
I loved this show so much. I wish someone would do extended versions of all the songs. Some seem way to short and need more time. Like Laney's song You're so Untrue. It needs to be made to around the 3 minute mark
My favorite episode probably is the one where they have doppelgangers of themselves (I believe they were aliens) trying to replace them in their lives and absolutely failing, especially when it came to making banger music with the sister's diary entries
Over here in Australia (just like many other Canadian toons) Grojband got played on ABC 3 a shit ton to the point where I got kinda sick of it for years. But now that it’s been a decade since that’s happened I look back on the show very fondly:) I wish this got a revival instead of all the old dinosaur shows that ended decades ago
Grojband was an amazing show. It's a shame that it never got off the ground like Phineas and Ferb did. This is what Johnny Test coulda been. The chemistry between characters, how the characters themselves are and the stories are told were great. Did anyone else learn the word "Swoon" from this show? Just me? Cool. I think it was the same company that did Side Kick but that show came out at the same time and I loved it just as much. It's a shame that, that show too got overlooked as well
I don't know if anyone's aware of this, but Groj Band has their own TH-cam channel! There's often quick painting tutorials and other interesting things involving the art from Groj Band to even the episodes in general! It's pretty awesome and it's worth checking out! ❤️
Show I miss most is probably stoked. Wish it got another season like how tdi blew up huge and got a meh reboot compared to the first season. Grog band is cute. I do enjoy how the main girl actually gets somewhere with her romance it was cute. Detentionare meanwhile needed to stop adding more mysteries after the first one finished. The hugging ending was perfect just ignore the robots coming from the bottom of the labyrinth
I remember really liking this one on Cartoon Network and Boomerang, the latter of which I mostly associate the show with. It's hard for me to forget since my sister liked it way more than me, she had a big crush on Cory which I found pretty funny. I mostly just liked it because it felt like a more kid friendly version of all those musical dramas that the teens in my family would watch. Made me feel a lot older for watching a show about an indie band.
So at the time Total Drama Island took place, Grojband has become known across the world. While Trina saw send into a mental asylum (Maybe next to Chris's cell) and eventually got a lobotomy.
So the skull is probably a clothing brand logo, cory probably got the hat and liked the logo and made it their band logo and thus why dunkin had the same logo on his shirt, both the hat and shirt are the same brand
Damn, I remember as a kid I wanted to be like Cory. 😊 [Edit]: I forgot to add, I’ve always wanted Cory’s beanie too. It’s STILL badass. Also, why does Canada always make childhood bangers??? (Coming from an Arizona desert kid.) [Edit 2]: WAS THAT A DEVO HAT??? I love Devo! (Even as a kid!) I never knew about that! 🫨
Shows like this bring me back to the mid-2000s and early 2010s vibe of shows. Where the characters always have a big dream of being the best of their preferred dream in life. Anyway, I really enjoyed the video I kind of miss these types of videos like these, I hope you can still do videos like these they're very fun and entertaining.😎💯❤👍🏾
I saw this show on abc3 as a kid and I was always sad they never showed more of it (because abc3 was prone to do that with licensed shows) and I remember being shocked when I found out that that was literally the entire show.
i feel like there's barely any cartoons about mainly music anymore, whether it's about a group wanting to be the most popular band or something similar is never a full thing to be focused on, and usually it falls on the side characters instead for like one ep i would have love to see more cartoons about something music like Grojband
Been a moment since I’ve watch your channel, I watch this and honestly it sucks it air in the morning during school with side kick and almost naked animals
I remember seeing the show for the first time and liking it, only to find out after the credits more episodes were exclusive to the app. If I remember right, Grojband would be on CN, but only at 5am local time or as show filler after a movie.
The songs actually sound not so bad for CN animated show. The episodes are pretty fun too...full of teen shenanigans. Shame I didn't get to see it when it was live. Thanks!
Wait, one of the main reasons behind TDI coming back was a fan episode getting a million views? Compared to a lot of stuff that gets cancelled thats really not that big when it comes to viewership of fan content.
Animated shows that I hope get talked about on "WAIT... Remember?" one day. Legends of Chima Zevo-3 Harvey Street kids Sagwa the Chinese Siamese cat Ruby Gloom Detentionaire Class of the Titans and Littlest pet shop.
Jordan! If you’re reading this comment, could you do Back to The Future the cartoon series?? Thank you. Bless your heart 🙏 I came to discover this cartoon at the perfect time. I don’t really watch tv in my home, so I don’t have a need for cable services. However, I remember I was taking a vacation week over to California in summer 2013 to visit some family and of course, and most importantly, go to Universal and Disney. My little cousin was still of age where he was watching cartoons and he had the tv channel on Cartoon Network. And that’s where I first found out about the show. Little did I know it was brand spankin’ new at the time. But I genuinely enjoyed it and the episode that was most memorable to me during my stay with my family was the auto tune helmet episode. I love messing with auto tune, so I especially loved that episode.
I remember binge watching this one day on Netflix. Thought it was pretty cool and because I was a cringey teen at that point, I shipped Corey and Nick 😅 but I really like the show and Trina’s Diary segments especially since it was never just anger but also showed other emotions
Thanks so much for watching! Did you ever check out Grojband? Would you have liked to see a season 2 of the show? Let me know!
Honestly after season 1 I don't see a reason for another one. Maybe for more music idk
I remember seeing Cartoon Network bumpers promoting the show back in 2013, but I never actually watched it until earlier this year. It's about what I expected.
I always thought that Corey was the antagonist because of the way he"Writes"music. Stealing Trina's diary!
You: we don't swear here
Also you: bro be pissing off😂
Can you do "WAIT... Remember Oggy and the cockroaches?"
The songs in this show were BANGERS!!!!!!!!!
The best part of the show!
I agree!
The art style alone reminds me a lot like Total Drama Island here. Definitely explains that it's made by the same studio.
This show was my entire jam back in middle school. I was so salty when it got cancelled, it had SO much potential for a second season.
This aired when i was in High School, but i watched majority of the episodes on TH-cam. Lowkey loved this show
Grojband was a wholly unique show with a silly premise and fantastic music, and I miss it dearly. I should definitely give it a rewatch
Thank you very much for covering it
Heck yeah I do this was definitely one of the most memorable shows in my childhood and I find the idea of them getting the lyrics to their song by getting the mc’s sister so mad that she writes it in her diary completely hilarious.
It’s like Phineas and Ferb mixed with Scott Pilgrim in a way
It's definitely a diet Phineas and Ferb, especially Corey and Trina. Trina was like trying to turn Candace into Vicky the baby sitter
This is uncomfortably accurate
Bro this is just too true
you can tell the redhead girl lainey (?) is supposed to be their kim
That is surprisingly accurate.
Yesssss! Its Fringemas!!! Good decision on reducing the number a bit. I would rather watch you for the rest of the year than having just on december.
Finally Jordan cover one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows. This show was the jam and the music were absolute bangers.
I LOVED Grojband! It was so underrated when it was out.
Trina/Corey's hateship was my favorite. Lowkey, they're both psychopaths.

It is, in fact, refreshing in its own way.
Especially since I was deep into the Gravity Falls fandom at the time, and the sibling dynamic in THAT show was wonderfully fresh in the exact opposite way. Hahaha
Corey isn't a psychopath at all.
My favorite song was “You’re so untrue.” I think I liked it especially because it deviated from my expectations of the shows songs with Laney being the main singer and the song having anger as its main emotion. All the songs were bangers as far as I remembered.

Saw it and detentionaires which were basically total drama like shows. I enjoy them and do wish they got more spotlight
You brought back a memory I didn’t remember. I remember enjoying this show and the way it looked when I was a kid
I loved this show so much. I wish someone would do extended versions of all the songs. Some seem way to short and need more time. Like Laney's song You're so Untrue. It needs to be made to around the 3 minute mark
This was one of my favorite shows ever. I’m glad so you’re doing a video on it.
My favorite episode probably is the one where they have doppelgangers of themselves (I believe they were aliens) trying to replace them in their lives and absolutely failing, especially when it came to making banger music with the sister's diary entries
The "[Insert Gag here] Transition!" voice lines are forever stuck in my head.
Over here in Australia (just like many other Canadian toons) Grojband got played on ABC 3 a shit ton to the point where I got kinda sick of it for years. But now that it’s been a decade since that’s happened I look back on the show very fondly:)

Laney Penn was one of my kid crushes.

I love this show and I hate it how it got treated by the network
I feel like it's still pretty underrated because it had personality and was just so entertaining !
I mean other than the music it's no different from an average Teletoon show
Ever since i started watching you last Fringemas, every video has been a nostalgia trip i didn't know i needed. Keep it up man.
This show was so short lived. Some of the episodes can get nuts and I love it.
I don't know if anyone's aware of this, but Groj Band has their own TH-cam channel! There's often quick painting tutorials and other interesting things involving the art from Groj Band to even the episodes in general! It's pretty awesome and it's worth checking out! ❤️

In all honesty grojband is basically a friendlier version of sidekicks
❤❤❤❤
I really liked watching this show and I wish it would have gotten more popular
My favorite show I wish they had more seasons I loved the romance of the characters and how funny it was
I remember that cartoon! I love it! I mean I didn’t watch it when it came out but I’ve heard of it since 2016-17
love how it's got two of my favorite voice actors in it (Lyon Smith and Alyson Court) and one of them sings all the songs himself
So at the time Total Drama Island took place, Grojband has become known across the world. While Trina saw send into a mental asylum (Maybe next to Chris's cell) and eventually got a lobotomy.
I swear if he doesn't mention Dragon Ball GT
Fringe needs to step into the grand tour.
Yup
My GOAT covering one of my favorite nostalgia shows
god i’ve had the phrase GURGLEFLURG stuck in my brain for over a decade
This show and looped was the best as a kid so sad they’re both forgotten
I didn’t mind Grojband but I think at this point in the CN timeline, I was having Canadian fatigue with all these comedy imports.
Would love to see more canadian underrated gems
I liked the animation style and that each episode had a song in it. It was a solid original of the early 2010s that was gone too soon.
Yo this was one of my favorite shows growing up
So the skull is probably a clothing brand logo, cory probably got the hat and liked the logo and made it their band logo and thus why dunkin had the same logo on his shirt, both the hat and shirt are the same brand
I love Mina❤! Sure she's a subordinate type character but she's very cute and it's awesome to see her have some moments to shine!🎉
THEY TURNED A WEEZER SONG INTO A SHOW???
I 100% Loved this show I wish they released like a CD or DVD with all the songs
I cosplayed Laney once haha. God I loved this show
I didn't even know this was on cartoon network, but yeah I used to fw this heavy when I was like 9
13 days seems more manageable good to have you back Fringe
Yes
Fringemas!!! Let’s goooo
Finally the season has come! Jordan bless us with Fringemas
Damn, I remember as a kid I wanted to be like Cory. 😊
[Edit]: I forgot to add, I’ve always wanted Cory’s beanie too. It’s STILL badass. Also, why does Canada always make childhood bangers??? (Coming from an Arizona desert kid.)
[Edit 2]: WAS THAT A DEVO HAT??? I love Devo! (Even as a kid!) I never knew about that! 🫨
I’ve been waiting for you to do this one!!! Next up that super hero one with the same art style and came out a bit before
I think this the first show I've seen you cover that I've never heard of
Shows like this bring me back to the mid-2000s and early 2010s vibe of shows. Where the characters always have a big dream of being the best of their preferred dream in life. Anyway, I really enjoyed the video I kind of miss these types of videos like these, I hope you can still do videos like these they're very fun and entertaining.😎💯❤👍🏾
We have scott pilgrim at home
Having the show flop in the US and making it short-lived should be considered a crime. Why? It's that criminally underrated a masterpiece.
Forget remembering, I never even heard of this show before now.
I watched this show for the first time last year and it got a lot of laughs out of me. definitely underrated
I saw this show on abc3 as a kid and I was always sad they never showed more of it (because abc3 was prone to do that with licensed shows) and I remember being shocked when I found out that that was literally the entire show.

Found this on Netflix as a kid and absolutely loved it
I came in to enjoy Grojband memories. I come out with a connected FreshTV universe XD
Much better breakdown/retrospective than others
YES I DO REMEMBER GROJBAND
The songs actually sound not so bad for CN animated show. The episodes are pretty fun too...full of teen shenanigans. Shame I didn't get to see it when it was live. Thanks!
Also not sure if it's intentional but Gojira is also a metal band which would also be appropriate
i adore grojband i still randomly pull it up if i find the episode
Yes finailly! This show was awesome! This and mudpit I feel like more people need to know about. The music was awesome.
the bubblegum pop song is still stuck in my head.
13 days, ILL TAKE IT!! More than I thought!! Yippie
Wait, one of the main reasons behind TDI coming back was a fan episode getting a million views? Compared to a lot of stuff that gets cancelled thats really not that big when it comes to viewership of fan content.
I keep having the theme song randomly play in the back of my mind from times to time so yes. I do remember! 🎸🎵
It’s Fringemas everybody I loved Grojband the songs were bangers
I actually really loved this show when I was younger lol
fringemas is back my dudes
Never thought I'd be early for one of your videos😅
Lowkey I didn’t know they were twins and I would watch this cartoon everyday
Not one I ever saw, but I might give it a look now.
I hope that this will return someday😊
I remember watching Grojband for a little bit
Animated shows that I hope get talked about on "WAIT... Remember?" one day.
Legends of Chima
Zevo-3
Harvey Street kids
Sagwa the Chinese Siamese cat
Ruby Gloom
Detentionaire
Class of the Titans
and Littlest pet shop.
Fringemas is here let’s goooooo!!
Memory unlocked, 2010s CN was prime kid brain development
I legitimately forgot about this show.
Jordan! If you’re reading this comment, could you do Back to The Future the cartoon series?? Thank you. Bless your heart 🙏

My childhood
Add Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman to the list next!
Can you talk about the series "Lucky Fred"?
I loved this series
Pretty fun to watch when it aired
ngl i loved this show as a kid
