  • EMOM for 20 minutes
    1 Clean-and-Jerk (80% of 1 RM)
    1 Clean (1 RM)
5 Burpee Box Jumps (24/20 in)
    Weight: 175 lbs
Not sure how the weights are supposed to work but I knew 175 was going to be a challenge due to the jerks. Speaking of, if you’re a fan of push jerks that go 80% of the way followed by a 20% strict press then this is the video for you! Never felt confident on this one. This was also a nerve wrecking one because I knew if I failed a jerk I would most likely have only one more effort before not having a chance to finish the minute. Was finishing each round with about 15-20 seconds left which sounds like a lot but not when you’re fixing weights or sucking in air trying to hit a near max clean and jerk. Round 17 was scary, barely got the jerk and failed on a box jump. Think the second to last jerk was my best. Give this one a go!

Incredibly hard work out and excellent effort but why do I get an image of a mouse in a maze in my head?

Hmmm…Could be the repetitive nature of the workout? Maybe that I am also searching for a certain goal, hidden at the center of the workout, much like a mouse to cheese? Or maybe just that I have some mouse-like features. You choose man!

@@maxe7056 I was an elite level competitive powerlifter for over 15 years and none of my workouts were as grueling as yours. Hat's off. I hope you find what you're looking for. Are you actively competing in cross fit?

@@kurtschulten5369 that’s impressive man. 15 years doing anything is a long time, especially something as demanding as powerlifting. I’m just a dude who likes CrossFit workouts and does them in his garage. I’ve done the Open a couple times but that’s about it. Started a couple years ago after I stopped coaching wrestling so I could stay in shape.
