If the mustache joke didn't have any greater meaning to you....cool. I don't think it's unreasonable for some of us thin a recast due to a real person dying should be handled with a bit more sensitivity than a mustache joke. I also don't think it's unreasonable that some of us thought of the real life recast due to a real world death rather than about a fake person's facial hair when they reference him looking different.
I don’t think your unreasonable, and you have every right to be skeptical of the MCU (most are) I just think for me where your opinion doesn’t track with me is thinking that the line was a joke….. I didn’t get joke out of that at alll and I really dont think it was intended to be a joke.

They were doing the classic “you look different” bit which many movies/shows do with a recast. I don’t think it’s the most sensitive way to address a real world death.

The mustache line isn't even a joke. It's not supposed to make you laugh, especially at the expense of the dead actor. It's just a line to explain why the mustache is gone and address the recast. It's not supposed to be "funny." Misconstruing it as any sort of comedic disrespect is a bad assumption.
No one is joking about an actor that died your taking that the wrong way, it’s about the story and his change in look it’s smart storytelling to keep people understanding who this guy is

Literally i Really got pulled back into the MCU from this trailer I love this trailer a lot, I really hope this lives up to its expectations that’s been set from how high quality this trailer is. I hope the reshoots really have shaped this into a great movie

I'm going to be honest the trailer really interested me. I'm going to see it in theaters in February of next year.
For me, I’ve decided before this was released that I’m not seeing the movie. Why should I get my hopes up only to likely be disappointed like most other times with the mcu in the past 4 years

Mustache joke wasn't at the expense of the late actor though so it's not offensive.
The character famously has a mustache in the comic and it's just a subtle bit of exposition letting the audience know he's portraying the character now.
It hardly felt like a joke to me they just had to address it

Marvel marketing really doesn’t reflect the final product as the people creating the trailer feel like a completely separate team.
Case in point Ant Man 3s trailer setup a dark, high emotion, and huge stakes film and instead we got…… Ant Man 3😂

They should have killed Ross to honor William Hurt legacy. If Marvel can recast Ross with Harrison Ford after Hurt died and throw one line of his mustache being gone then they can #recastTchalla this logic by marvel makes no sense
His character is not even that impactful to not recast him and they did do it because of his allegations from his ex-wife resurfaces again during that time he died, so marvel is trying their best to remove william hurt's name to that character. You really compared ross to tchalla? jesus effin christ

@@jmandan8728 you totally missed my sarcasm with killing Ross but what I’m trying to say is marvel killing a $1.7B hero but recasting a side character casual fans don’t know makes no sense. We didn’t want a recast immediately but killing tchalla the way they did was terrible writing and don’t get me started on his son. And it makes it worse that they recasted Ross when it’s the same situation. An actor died but they went different ways with a FICTIONAL character. It has nothing to do with allegations dummy 🤣

Really excited after seeing the trailer! The fact that the film’s got a phase 2 kind of tone instead of the attempted phase 3 wacky tone is really fresh.
As well as that I’m looking forward to seeing this in theaters on my birthday!

Looks very good, visual, cinematography, action and edit wise, kinda reminds of Winter Soldier, and while it still reminds me of Secrets Invasion 😬
I haven’t seen anyone talking about this but there are two shots that I think tease The Leader in here.
There’s a shot with a guy in a hat from behind him, that guy looks green. There’s a guy taking a picture with a camera later in the trailer whose hand is the same shade of green.
Looks really good. I was a bit skeptical, but I'm pretty hyped now. Now it's just a trailer, but still.

Idk if I would call the mustache thing a straight “joke” so much as the trailer quickly catching everyone up on the fact that Ross is Harrison Ford now; not everyone follows this kind of news too closely. Maybe theres a better version of it but I think it’s just supposed to serve as quick in-character banter that clarifies this is supposed to be the same guy.
This is gonna be peak! It feels like Winter Soldier. It likely won’t be as good, but it looks awesome! Harrison Ford seems great in the role. The presidential assassination plotline seems interesting. I can’t wait to see Giancarlo Esposito as his mystery villain.
Here’s my prediction of how I’d rank the Captain America films:
4: First Avenger (Still great, but the weakest)
3: Brave New World (Like I said, looks awesome!)
2: Winter Soldier (Fantastic!)
1: Civil War (Fantastic!)

I agree the mustache joke was weird. Don’t think it’s bad to react an actor who passed (I kinda think they should have recast black panther but definitely handle it better than oh lol shaved the face hair) don’t think the mustache joke was a big deal but definitely not a great way of handling that
Yeah but keep in mind, if they do go with that FULL trailer to get everyone going, they’re gonna have to show some stuff for hype: action scenes, Red Hulk, Sam’s flying choreography, so some vfx for sure. I think they kept as much out because they need to time to touch it up to make it crisp. That’s my only thing about it, cause I agree with you. They should’ve. But, they probably didn’t have enough of that footage ready, touched up, etc to release where it looked good enough to present. Hope that makes sense, but yeah I agree

Excited about this movie because Falcon and the Winter soldier was great to me. The best T.V. show aside from Loki to me.
Honestly I appreciate them noting the actor change in a way that doesn’t feel forced. I think this movie looks really good and reshoots happen in almost all movies. My only concern is that they will overfill the movie full of stuff, George Washington Bridges, Red Hulk, and apparently the scientist from the first Hulk movies, Plus answering Tiamut questions.
My initial reaction was that "its nice to Sam Wilson again." I still don't know if this movie'll be for me, as I've been pretty soured on Marvel lately, but seeing a familiar face from the Infinity Saga doing his thing was nice.
To me, this is better than the Agatha trailer from the other day, and that Red Hulk part is mind blowing 🔥Can’t wait to see how it’ll play out next year 💯

It’s the most I’ve been hyped for a marvel movie since no way home (excluding deadpool 3, that’s gonna be CINEMA)
Seeing more of Sam being captain America is what I’ve wanted so I’m very excited for this
I feel like most of the non-Disney+ subscribers have no idea this movie had any bad buzz attached to it. Most casual fans of media aren’t seeing headlines like this. To them, it’s a trailer for another Marvel movie, and as you say, it’s a solid one. Whether they’re out on Marvel movies at this point is another thing, but I don’t think the behind-the-scenes stories are affecting that crowd at all.
Whilst I don’t think the moustache line was meant to be rude I think it was just a way to explain in universe why he looks different in case there are people who aren’t aware that William Hurt had died.
The VFX was sloppy and it didnt bring anything intruguing to the table. Unconvinced at this stage
With Disney trying to keep there, MarvelI Disney Plus shows on the tv side of the MCU, I hope that the movie does not rely too much on the viewers, seeing The Falcon and Winter Soldier.
Winter soldier mcu is the best kind of mcu , looking forward to this and there was no joke whatsoever about the different look
I am worried about it knowing the BTS trouble and the bad test screenings but tbh this trailer looked pretty reassuring to me. It looked pretty cool. Its just so nice to FINALLY see Sam back as Captain America. Hopefully we'll move further along with a new avengers team and omg that red hulk tease was epic. Can't wait to see that! Always nice to see a serious tone as well in todays mcu

Interesting thought about making a joke about an actor who died, didn't think of it that way. That scene also kinda gave me vibes of the scene in Iron Man 2 when you see the new Rhodey for the first time and he's like "i'm here, deal with it" or whatever haha
For it to be a teaser I think it was pretty good. With the bad taste that Falcon and winter soldier left. This trailer gives me a little hope. Hopefully when they drop the original trailer it will be even better
At 0:31 in the trailer, the Celestial Head/Hand is coming out of the ocean in the background. We get a glimpse of it later when Sam is flying over of the ocean too. The army seems to be fighting over it for some reason. Tbh, not sure if I wanted to see that reference to Eternals ever come back. In my head canon, Eternals didn't happen in the MCU.
Anthony mackie has faced a lot of unnecessary hate as captain America 😢. He doesn’t deserve it
I was pleasently surprised by this trailer. I didn't like the Falcon and Winter Soldier show, so I was very skeptical about this, but this sold me! And Harisson Ford!!!!! WOOO!!!!!!!

The teaser has me a little skeptical. It seems like we might be retreading the same ground we already have in other Cap projects. I don't want to see Sam go through the same developments he and Steve already have.
I also don't think they should habe shown Hulk yet, and agree it felt weird to see so much of Giccarlo.
However, i did enjoy the feeling and tone of the teaser, that did hook me.
I really didn't like falcon and the winter soldier either and this trailer did not win me over. Excited for deadpool and wolverine though

While I found the trailer to be good and got me more hyped for the movie, unfortunately I'm still skeptical because plenty of recent Marvel projects like Secret Invasion and Echo had really good trailers only to be disappointing
I liked the trailer but I don’t like how they downgraded the logo from its original design.
no one was joking. the only time a joke about a recast was ever made was iron man 2. that was MEANT to be a joke. you took something that was a direct let lighthearted recognition of the change in appearance of an integral character played by an integral actor. that chip is on your shoulders; not ours, and definitely not this movie. and you cant even admit to taking it the wrong way; instead, you're doubling down, which says a lot about who you actually are.

I have this feeling that this will not live up to the winter soldier but come so very close.
The biggest thing I think this movie will need is another character to help Sam. The winter soldier had black widow and nick fury and it would not be the same without them
This movie Sam feels like he is on his own. Torres seems like a good character but many people have not spent enough time with him on screen. I think if someone like Bucky was in the show it would really be a 10/10 but unless this movie really proves me wrong idk
Look, I loved Winter Soldier, why? Because it was a political thriller superhero film, with great, practical action. This film looks like another political type movie, and I think Harrison Ford is the perfect actor to replace William Hurt, he fits this kind of role, and this also isn't the first time Ford has played the President of the U.S., I think the blue Cap suit looks cool, and our little glimpse of Red Hulk looks great as well. I love that Tim Blake Nelson and Liv Tyler are also coming back. In all, very excited for this film, I think it will be a great Valentine's Day movie next year

I think Ross should’ve been recast with someone a bit younger, like Bryan Cranston (he’s 68, but not as old as Harrison ford who is OLDER than William hurt). If they plan to use Ross even more after this movie, the sad truth is they might have to recast AGAIN.
If they only plan to use him in this movie, I think it’s a mistake. I’d like to see him square off with Hulk, and make an appearance in Thunderbolts (it’s named after him ffs)
Winter Soldier is certainly up there but I wouldn't say it's regarded by 'almost everybody' as the best MCU movie.
Seems perfectly strong to me for the average viewer. Those viewers are not going to know about any possible behind the scenes issues.
Hey Sean, I’ve been seeing the other comments and I don’t think you’re “dumb” for looking at the Thunberbolt mustache joke weirdly. We interpret it in different ways. Personally, I thought it was kinda funny because I believe they are just trying to let the general audience know that Ford is now Thunderbolt Ross

It genuinely really upsets me that we're getting red hulk and the leader and the movie is about falcon instead of the hulk. This for me is a travesty.
Not gonna lie it kinda won me over
First of all, it's not a joke about replacing an actor who died !!. Where did you get that idea !?. If anything, it's playing homage.
Also what you don't get is this: the massive reshoots were a decision by Kevin Feige who, and i'm happy about this, basically took the reigns back from Bob Chapek who made some very questionable choices in regards of the MCU, especially Phase 4, and Kevin's choice to say "We need to fix what we can and we need to get back into the good graces of the fans" is something he should be praised for.
And by the way, to add on top of that this teaser did, and Feige KNOWS this, exactly what it should have done: TICK THE BOXES for us fans. Feige knows the kind of stuff we expect and want to see: Red Hulk, Tiamut Island, The Leader, Ross as president, George Washington Bridge (probably Giancarlo Esposito's character), a Winter Soldier type POLITICAL THRILLER, Isaiah, Falcon. And this teaser ticks ALL of those boxes.
Trailer looks fantastic, but after great trailers and bad movies, I am not getting hyped until I see it
A lot of the plot of falcon and winter soldier was changed because of the pandemic and it had a pandemic plotline. So, I do have some hope for the movie.

Regardless of this movie is good or bad, it is most likely going to bomb. This film reportedly has a production budget of $350-375 Million, plus reports of $100 Million of reshoots, and also add marketing & advertising & movie theater slices, this movie most likely needs to make over $1 Billion to succeed.
And here come all the people saying, ITS FAKE DONT LISTEN TO THOSE REPORTS. Whether or not they’re true one thing is certain, this film is going to be a flop just like Marvels
I’m with you and was disappointed with the Falcon/Winter Soldier show - but I do like this trailer. It feels like it is trying to go back to what made the Cap films great!
I don’t view this trailer as a return to Winter Soldier. Maybe storywise, but what really set Winter Soldier apart was the way the fights felt. There was WAY more in camera stuff than the other Marvel movies.
all of the shots at the end looked terrible. Falcon flying looked great in Winter Soldier but it was jarring how fake it looked in this trailer. Plus the nature of using Red Hulk will likely keep the action away from that Winter Soldier feel.
Approach with extreme caution. After all, this is Disney/Marvel. Hope for the best but probably get disappointed.

It was confirmed, not too long ago that all the reshoot rumors were false that they only had to do a few days of reshoot and not mouths of reshoots
