    "Planking the DECK of the HMS PRGASUS"
    Building a ship model of the HMS PEGASUS (1776) in scale 1:64. Kit manufactured by the Italian company Amati. Here I share my personal impressions of the kit and results.
    HMS Pegasus was the sixth of 25 Swan Class ship rigged sloops ordered by the Admiralty between 1766 and 1780. Built at Sheerness Dockyard, Pegasus was launched on December 27th, 1776.

    Some lead fishing weights would hold those planks down. Just paint them to avoid transferring lead to your hands.

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have lead weights and only use them as a press. This also works for veneer on contact adhesive but not for planks on PVA. For gluing the planks on the model, it is better to use clamps, since very often you have to bend them...

    What type of glue do you use on the decking?

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  ปีที่แล้ว

      My main glue is always carpentry - PVA D3
      If I use somewhere else glue it is always described in the subtitles!

      I wrote several links in the description under the video. My wood in the video has the wrong "face" because it is wood from a musical instrument store and was not meant to be cut into planks...

    Hola buenas tardes: A mi tambien me encantan los videos y suelo ver bastante lo bien que realizas los trabajos. Yo soy principiante y estoy con mi primer barco el Halifax 1768. Espero me quede bien. Me gustan algunas de las herramientas que utilizas. Aqui en España igual son otras. Me gusta tambien el cuadrado ese metalico que utilizas para apoyar. Donde se puede conseguir ? Otra pregunta: Que opinas del mini torno Proxxon Db 250. Estoy pensando en comprarlo.

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  ปีที่แล้ว

      ¡Muchos gracias!
      ¡Una gran elección para un primer modelo!
      Estoy usando una pieza de aluminio con ángulos de 90 grados, la compré como chatarra... En cuanto al DB 250, es la herramienta menos necesaria para el modelado de barcos. But you will definitely need a rotary tool! Podrá hacer todas las mismas partes que en el Db, simplemente sujetando la parte en un collar... Tengo algunos videos sobre las herramientas que son realmente necesarias en primer lugar. Puede encontrarlos en la lista de reproducción "NECESSARY TOOLS". No puedo escribir un enlace porque TH-cam bloqueará el comentario...
