Does this mean that shopify's auto image optimization does not work? They say that they automatically optimize file compression and file type. However, I haven't found any indication of them actually doing anything and I've checked on many browsers. Files all load exactly as uploaded.
When would it make sense to use a WEBP file type. Not exactly sure what the difference is between WEBP and JPEG/PNGs. I've seen a lot of stores use WEBPs

Oh you actually don't have to re upload the images with optimized text, one can just change the images name in the Content -> Files
