Well, you know what, When I tried searching something like “Move to Japan” on TH-cam, most of the videos popped out are with the titles of ” Why you should not move to Japan” and stuff, but this video really encourages people to take the first step out, and it does encourage me travel or move to Japan someday. I love animes, I love their music, their buildings and their foods. Someday I will use own my eyes to see how Japan really look like, I’ll just follow my heart like you did!

I'm s happy I found your video. I'm 26 and for so long I've suppressed that calling to move abroad and have an adventure. After finding a "good job" and living my life according to what's safe, I've reached my breaking point. Hearing your story has given me the courage to take that first step. Thank you!

Thank you for making this video. I've been wanting to live in Japan ever since I was 9 years old. I self-studied Japanese throughout my childhood. While growing up, it slowly started to feel like I would never be able to move there but after my first trip to Japan in 2015 it wasn't until then that the spark started back up again. Fast-forward to now, with everything going on in the world, I decided I needed to make it happen. It's my life, I need to make it worth it. I have had this passion since I was a child and now I can finally make it happen. For the past year I have been saving up and I plan on finally moving at the end of December of 2023.
Your story just adds more inspiration to me. I really hope everything continues to go well in your life. I am also in my late 20s, I also have health issues, but your story really keeps me going. Thank you so much. I hope when I make it to Japan we can link up and be friends. Again, I am happy you are following your dreams and living your best life!!

I'm not afraid to admit that I got teary eyed watching this due to the sheer similarity in my own life. I'm 27, I was burnt out in an IT job, I constantly day dream of life in Japan. I'm a quarter Japanese, but never met my Japanese grandma from Kyushu. The remnant of life I'll ever get to see of her is in Japan, and for this reason, I am going to move there. OMG Jessica !!! Your video is such an inspiration to me! I can relate so well to your story ! I have been feeling similar to what you were going through. I’ve been dreaming of going to and moving to Japan since 2019 . But I became fascinated with Japan since 2014.
I liked Anime and grew up playing Nintendo and always felt the Japanese Culture was beautiful 🤩.
Since 2019, my desire grew stronger to come to Japan, I have been feeling a void because I felt I strongly identified with the culture. This is really shedding a light on my situation and helping me stay motivated. Thank you 😊 🙏🏽 !
I know it was a reason I stumbled across your video.
Good luck with your life and success in Japan. Many people don’t have the courage and the know how to pursue their dreams especially if it involves moving and relocating to another place or country. You are such an inspiration 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽.

Thank you so much for sharing your story, it was super inspiring! I’m working to become an architect and will be giving up my well-paying job this week to start my masters at Todai. I’m scared shitless as it’s all very uncertain especially with the covid situation. I’ll be bringing my wife over as well so that adds to the stress, and it’s the second big move we’re going through. I’ve been feeling drawn to Japan for the past few years now and it’s always been my dream to be an architect in a big city like Tokyo. At 27 it’s now or never to move and we’ll be giving up everything we’ve built the past few years. But life is so short and sometimes we have to risk it all to get where we are meant to be ❤️

Have you ever heard about the working holiday visa? Maybe your country is on Japans list as well for it and that way you can stay in Japan up to one year. It’s like a work and travel visa. You don’t have to work if you don’t want to.
But otherwise if you wanna stay more then 3 months (tourist) it will be difficult without a working.
The only option would be to get married and having a partner that earns enough for you to stay home 🤣

From what you said at the start of your video, I could relate to that a little bit.
I'm currently at a crossroads in my life and I am aged 34. I'm not really tied down to anything even at that age, it's more just putting some money away that I need to do. And I recently quit my job. I live in Scotland and I 'used' to have a dream of moving to Japan starting back in 2016 then some things happened in my life and I felt like that dream was crushed. But now I'm thinking maybe it isn't too late. I know a goal like that however will take a lot of time for me to achieve and I will have to work hard for it and procrastination has been the biggest enemy throughout my whole life. I just need to figure out deep in my heart what is the most important to me in life and then do it.
I've been to Japan a couple of times just as a holiday so I know moving there would be much different vibe and would need to take most days seriously to survive.
How have things been for you lately in Japan? I followed you on your Instagram page and I'll leave a message on there sometime.

Love this video! I’ve honestly been thinking about this for awhile now. I’ve got nothing in my life in the US that’s keeping me here. I’ve lost some friends or have some friends that have moved on with they’re lives and have become distant to me and I’ve had whatever little family in my life pass away. So I’ve considered leaving to Japan, not just for my own well being desperately soul searching, but for a potential career opportunity too. Someday I’d love to own my own animation company that’s focuses on traditional hand drawn paper 2D animation. Up here in the west, we are truly living in sad state when it comes to animation in general, I’ve noticed over the years just how extremely successful foreign animation as a whole is doing. I feel if I want to make a living I need to be somewhere where the art form is continuously thriving. Without all the obstacles and nonsense that comes with getting into the western animation industry which feels so impossible in this era. I feel stuck and I’ve been feeling this way for years now, maybe someday I’ll consider taking a trip down there to get an idea.

Y'know something, I can completely relate to you and I'm so glad you followed your dreams. A few years ago I spent a couple months in Okinawa and I've always had a plan for years to go back and live there. But Y'know life happens, ended up getting a pretty good job and having life going pretty well here in the UK. But I feel like I've just been drifting through life. I didn't enjoy my job and I had no goals here in the UK whereas for years my plan has always been to open a business in japan and make a success of myself there. So, a few months ago I decided to just do it. I'm not content here in the UK because I've always had this plan to leave, so I've gotten the ball rolling, putting things in place so that next October ill be moving to Okinawa. It's honestly one of the best decisions I've made, because its given me something to really work towards, now i have just over a year to plan things out and improve my Japanese to make the move that much easier. anyway, I hope you're doing well and good luck in whatever you do in life:) Jya Na

Great video! Eliminate the "what ifs". Thats my plan. 31. Making an IT salary that im sure many people dream of making. But i want to live abroad and try my hand at being a teacher. Giving up all the things that society says you should be happy with to get out there and yolo for your dream is crazy scary. But I'm not the only one out there taking that risk. I appreciate you sharing your story! It's inspiring and helping me take the plunge!

I am moving in February, getting very anxious about, but alot of the stuff you said applied to me. Like playing board games stc. Life has been really stagnant since covid and in a really bad rutt. Worst that could happen is I fail. The main thing I will miss is my two ferrets that I can't take but they will be fine and looked after, and I can't keep putting my life on hold forever

Oh my! I've just found your channel. I like your character _a lot,_ and would love to see where your adventures take you. ^‿^
A couple things to share: I'm sure you know of Rachel & Jun's channel, yeah? Rachel is also dealing with an autoimmune disorder, and she has found that a Japanese probiotic called Miyarisan helped her immensely.
Additionally, there is a Swedish/Belgian (not quite German/Italian, but hey) probiotic called BioGaia Gastrus, which has a small laundry list of benefits that are worth investigating.
_What I recommend_ is to learn how to produce your own homemade yogurt, and culture as much of the Miyarisan and Gastrus in that yogurt as you benefit from. Ideally, you'd only ever need to buy one bottle of each type of probiotic, and just keep culturing more after that.
I haven't watched all of your backlog of videos, but have you mentioned specifically what your condition is? I might have more thoughts to offer if I knew. Either way, I wish you oodles of health, wealth, and happiness!

I'm only 13 but really want to move to japan, idk what it is but just thinking of japan gives me this weird nostalgic feeling and comforting feeling. It's not because of anime or anything lol , I genuinely like the culture and everything. I live in India , India of course is a beautiful country but Last 2 years and this one also were really bad for me. I maybe am young but still I can feel depressed yk and I don't want to say this but I thought of k*lling myself many times before. I just want a change. If you're wondering how I can move to japan : I manifest and stuff and have manifested many times before, so I was thinking of manifesting me and my family to move to japan or a different country but I really like japan :)

This video really popped up at a time where I needed it. I am also in my late twenties, but without a job and a child to care for. In the past few years I have dreamed of living in Japan. I've even started self-teaching myself Japanese. What I worry about most besides the language barrier is what will I do for a living once there? Do you have any suggestions about jobs and work visas?

I wish I could move to Japan.I'd go right away if I could. It's been my dream to live in Tokyo for ages, but how do you move there when you don't have experience in the jobs they are recruiting in, are not a native English speaker (my country is not eligible for Jet) and are still quite on a basic Japanese level?

I'm in my early 50's now and it's too late for me. Japan is as youth-centric as most of the West, so if you're going to go, do it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Anyone but a Scandinavian should make all possible haste. Scandinavia is the best place on earth, so they should stay there 😅

    • @jessicaao400
      @jessicaao400  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Wouldn’t say as much as the west so. Depends where you go, really. But it is changing that is true.
I dont think it is to late, I’ve met quite a few ppl who moved here around your age and are having a blast. But yeah I do understand it is not that easy.
Scandinavia and the nordic countries in Europe do have a high quality of life 😊

That’s not so much, Japan is actually very much centered on the older generation, you can find a lot of information about it online. If you want to go, you may be very surprised and find it’s totally worth it! ♡

ah im glad this video exists, all the videos i see about moving to japan makes it seems like you shouldn't move there and that it's not worth it. When that's clearly not the case at all, it has a beautiful culture and such nice people. Yes you should learn about the manners but they're trying to put a bad impression on japan almost?

    • @jessicaao400
      @jessicaao400  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I definitely agree that there are a lot of obstacles that can make it more difficult than in other countries. But I also believe it is up to how you approach things and your mindset.
I definitely don’t want to make it sound like it’s all pink fluffy unicorns. But for me personally it changed my life for the better, I’m more confident in my decision than ever before.
Except for when I have to decide what to eat for dinner🤣

Hi, I don’t know a lot of details about people from the medical field, but you have to make sure that your medical degree is accepted in Japan. I’ve heard that’s quite difficult. I have a friend who’s a surgeon, but he doesn’t find a job here in the medical field, but since he has a bachelor and masters degree he is doing other jobs, such as working as a journalist.

I am in pretty much the same boat as you (I'm Swiss). I've loved Japan as long as I can remember. It started with anime, then music, then the language and eventually culture. I visited for the first time in 2016 for three weeks and it was more beautiful than I ever imagined. I am planning to move in 2024 despite having a house, a secure job and being married (he has agreed to accompany me). It's a huge step. It'd be nice if you could make a video about how you got a job and what you are teaching in Japan (given that you are not a UK/US native). Also feel free to drop me an email, it's on my channel :) Great video.

No. No. No. If all these people go to Japan what do you think will happen? Japan is Japan because of homogeneous population. Look the troubles the tourists are creating. Imagine now permanent residents? That is why Japan shall close the borders.
