- This is about as fluid a take as I can manage this afternoon.
I didn't expect this to work as a finger style arrangement but it turned out really nice. I have a capo on the 2nd fret because it made my guitar feel a little more alive today, but if you play it without the capo it will be in the original key Khruangbin plays it in.
Here's a link to a lesson on how to play it: • How to play Khruangbin...
This may not have a lot views for now but every Khruangbin fan knows what a gem you have created. Please, please teach us this arrangement..
Thank you, it's a special song. Here's the lesson: th-cam.com/video/i48UOv8HjnQ/w-d-xo.html

nice arrangement.. it sounds great played solo like that! Is it based on a tab that's available anywhere?
Thanks, I worked it out myself. I don't think I'll get around to writing out tabs anytime soon, but if I do make tabs or some kind of instructional video I'll be sure to pass it on.
I made a little lesson for it. Here you go: th-cam.com/video/i48UOv8HjnQ/w-d-xo.html
awesome..well done! thanks!!
What effects / pickup settings are you using to get this tone?
Hello... there's not a lot of unique things going on. But the recording is a blend of a mic pointed at the amp and the mic from my phone mounted on the headstock. So the phone picks up some clarity and articulations that may otherwise get lost. Otherwise make sure your guitar is intoned properly all the way up the neck, and use EQ to remove any overwhelming frequencies from your guitar or amp. I did mix this a little in Logic Pro, but probably just compression and reverb. Nothing crazy. Here's a copy paste from what I told someone else who asked, back when I remembered what I actually used for this video... "This rig is fairly simple. Squier Bullet Strat ($110) with light gauge flat wounds, into a CP-24 EQ Pedal with cuts at 250 Hz and 1k Hz and some brightness boost ($40), into a Keeley Caverns Reverb/Delay Pedal ($180), into some kind of Dean Markley amp I found at my local store ($100). Sometimes I record the amp with a cheap old Studio Projects condenser mic, often with a direct signal split off the guitar mixed in. Some effects and alterations made in Logic Pro. Honestly the Caverns pedal is not really my favorite, but it gets the job done. The amp doesn't have very good built-in reverb. The most important thing in avoiding a cheap sound is a well-tuned guitar with good intonation setup, then some good EQ to remove bothersome frequencies and balance the bass/treble. If you have those things worked out, the guitar sounds much more expensive than it actually is! And if you don't have those worked out, no amount of money will make the guitar sound great. Anyway, thanks for the comment, and good luck digging in."
And looks like I'm on the neck pickup
Amazing!
