This information just save tons of hours doing own research. Short but precise yet very informative. Thank you very much for making this vid.

For the hikes you stayed and watched the sunset, did you use a torch to help you get down or camp at the top?

I'd say for a day hike, doing the traverse Avalanche Peak through to Mt Bealey or the other way round is a better trip to do, good views moving along the ridge + isn't too bad for heights, there are much narlier mountain in New Zealand than these (from a fellow anti height enthusiast)

Ironically, a lot of us born and bred Kiwis are doing these tramps and day trips for the first time in our lives now the borders are closed and we don't have to deal with the hundreds of tourists you mentioned crowding the trails.
    Nice camera work.

Kiwis have such a choice selection of hikes/tramps in their own backyard 👍

thanks for using 'tramp' instead of hike. So many are now saying 'hike'. It may sound picky but it's our tramping culture that is being eroded.

Good list! I've done most of those but still need to do arthurs pass. There's also a lesser known hike called peak hill in Canterbury that looks insanely beautiful

NZ is seriously so beautiful. I'm sure there are still so many hikes that we haven't even done yet that are just as stunning. We love this place!

Don't know if you are a Kiwi or not but we say 'Tramping' not 'hiking' we have tramping clubs not hiking clubs. Just saying. Cheers
