  • [NOT SPONSORED] After about ten months of 'here and there' learning of guitar, I've finally completed all lessons in the Justin Guitar app!
There's still so much for me to gain from the app, particularly consolidating my knowledge and skills, but I thought I would share my thoughts on this incredible learning platform.

I have learnt almost everything off the internet and mostly with Justin. 5 years down the line, I have been playing in our church band for over a year and have even done a few solo performances. I am not sure how many songs are in my file, but it is probably in the region of 300-350. There are lots of things you can learn that make things simpler and more fluid, but you will pick them up. Keep going

It's really interesting to get a fellow learners perspective on the process. You're further on than me. I love the little back and forth you can have with your self about getting the barre chords right and laugh to yourself about it.
I think that's the kind of thing Justin refers to when he says "be forgiving to yourself". You still playing now?

Nice to see a ‘real’ representation of how long it takes to learn. I been playing for nine months and currently doing grade 2 module 12. After grade one I spent 2 and half months just playing songs using chord chords I had learned before moving to grade 2. Taking it slow don’t think rushing it will make me better. I’m not very good right now either but won’t let that discourage me even though it can be frustrating at times. It’s refreshing to see a real video like yours and hope you are still playing and enjoying the guitar.

So good to see someone else’s perspective with their learning stages. I love how you’re able to be forgiving and even self deprecating, understanding that this whole guitar process of learning isn’t easy…..like as Justin continues to assure us. No sugarcoating. It’s bloody hard….but worth it. I’m only hitting my 4th month myself. Loving each level, albeit slow but no rushing involved. I’ll repeat modules and that’s fine.

I realise that it's difficult to play naturally in front of a camera, but I would always recommend having it rest on your left leg for a right-handed player, and ideally you need to keep the body of the guitar slightly lower. It will make your strumming a lot more comfortable and natural.

try learning to strum with your fingers. the 4 fingernails of the fingers for downstrokes and the thumb nail for the upstrokes. U will be able to make it sound less intense and more pleasing.
