    Hello! I just picked up this keyboard from a Goodwill earlier this week and I'm so excited about it!! Would you be willing to make any tutorials about how to use its different features, like how you explained the transpose feature? I'm specifically really interested in how to adjust what a given instrument sounds like, but don't really understand attack-release, modulation, etc.

      So glad you found one! I'm not as familiar with the other functions as I would like, but maybe I could do some deeper dives into some of the features I do know? Also, here's a link to the manual. Hope it helps! www.manualslib.com/manual/26203/Casio-Wk-3000.html

    I found one in the dumpster, took it home cleaned it up, 2 battery springs rusted off, I dont have power adaptor to test, I set out to repair with flashlight springs, came on, no sounds. turns out volume board had 2 broken traces on the board, and volume pot welds were loose. quick wire bridge repair to ribbon cable and resolder welds...sweet sounds come out. BTW the screws that hold the large speakers are weak plastic, I used 4 nice globs of silicone on each speaker to secure to the frame. hopefully this may help someone who has problems like no sound.

    • @ShaylaRMcDaniel
      @ShaylaRMcDaniel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jeffery! Sorry I didn't go into detail with the sounds! I mainly use the midi sounds I have in Logic on my computer, and just use the regular piano, electric/rhodes piano, or drums directly from the keyboard when I'm practicing or coming up with ideas. This is more of a "how I use the Casio" instead of a full review. Sorry about that!

    Hi, Shayla! I just picked one of these up by the roadside(a wk-3200, actually). Had power supply and everything! We've been trying.to figure out how to use those keyed effects like you did at 1:18. Lol. Figured the rhythms, and some other stuff, and even w the digital pdf owners manual, I'm at a loss. Any help would be great. Thx bud, and great video!!!

    • @ShaylaRMcDaniel
      @ShaylaRMcDaniel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome! To get to the keyed FX and other tones, hit the circle "tone" button on the right side of the display screen. Use the +/- keys on the number pad to scroll through the sounds, or type in the number of a sound listed on the keyboard. The drum kits are 500-515. I think I might have used 505 in the video. I hope this helps!

    Hi! Thanks for the vid! Are the keys weighted at all? Trying to figure out if that’s a necessity for someone who’s just starting to learn.

    • @ShaylaRMcDaniel
      @ShaylaRMcDaniel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Meghan! The keys are not weighted. I don't think weighted keys are necessary for people starting out. I really like having keys that aren't weighted because I can play faster and it seems like my fingers don't get as tired. I'm mainly a guitarist, but it seems like weighted or not is more of a personal preference & makes an electronic keyboard feel more like an acoustic one.

      As a pianist of 44 years, this board is necessary regardless of skill level, a beginner can use this keyboard and a professional can use this keyboard, this board can do the exact same things boards that cost two and three times more can do, this isn't a board that you by now and outgrow later, it's got all the tools you need to be the best musician you can possibly be

      Hi Iris! I connect to my computer using a midi to USB cable like this one: www.amazon.com/FORE-Interface-Converter-Adapter-Laptop/dp/B0719V8MX1/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=midi+to+usb&qid=1613403147&sr=8-5 The programs on my computer that I use the keyboard with are Logic and Garageband, though any digital audio workspace (DAW) should be able to handle midi. I don't know much about creating music directly on the keyboard besides changing tones & playing default beats, but here's a link to the user manual: www.manualslib.com/manual/26203/Casio-Wk-3000.html I hope this helps!

      Saw one at Guitar Center the same day I saw a GearFacts review it.
      It was nice, they wanted $189. I almost bit. The piano was warm and resonant, and I like that you can edit sounds and has a synthesiser mode. Plus the build quality is fairly rugged for an old home keyboard. It's a keeper.

This is an older model that was made around 2002-2003. But here's a link to the manual online, and you can type "Sequencer" in the search bar and it will show you which pages have sequencer instructions.
