    Thank you! I watched maybe four videos before someone clarified that even though the labels say N and L on the two lines, they are both hot.
    I’ve had God tell me what I needed to do for my projects a lot! Thank you for giving God the glory and helping a brother out!

    Yooo! I watched this video and then went to replace the same device that broke during a freeze. First person to install the original barely left enough wire to reach and on top of that they built a sink cabinet around the water heater, so I had hardly any room to work the cables through. I could not get the thick cable to go through the space for the life of me! Just as i was about to give up after about 6 hours off and on of trying to get the cables in I remembered your video and asked God to help me find a solution. I looked at my old water heater and noticed the little middle screw in the white plastic piece between the other four screws. I unscrewed it and noticed this would help me maneuver the piece through the cable since the cables had no slack. Thanks for the video and the reminder to always ask God for help and give him the praise afterwards.

      Thanks for your comment bro. Tip to install the wire on the breakers you don't have to do it on the panel box, you can install the wire awy from the main power, then push them in the right spot. If you think you need a pro to install them is better then.

    Tx bro. Sometimes we can learn from vids, whether the person is a pro or not. You just have to be selective as to what it is you’re stuck on. Even the pros sometimes over complicate certain things. I had that same issue with the power connection, being that 6 gauge is so thick… but when you feel you’ve done things right, it usually comes down to common sense trouble shooting, and back peddling. Good job. I have the same unit, and what I’d like to know from you is how long it takes your hot water to reach your farthest fixture. With this I’m concerned. Gracias hermano, bien hecho. 🙃

    At around 8:10 you mention that you took the rubber washers out of the caps to put them on the fitting that attaches to the heater. Did you not use the compression ring? Those rubber washers will reduce water flow.

    QUESTION: You say use 2 black & 1 ground size 6 wires to hook it up but according to the installation manual the wiring diagram shows the 1 breaker with 1 black wire to L1 and 1 red wire to L2 for the 13kW heater. I thought the inside of a black, white, or red coating the wire would be the same, can I use a white or red as long as I mark it as black? Would it make a difference? And why would the manual show 1 black and 1 red? My previous tankless hot water heater froze and busted on Christmas Eve while everyone's power was out. I went with a Rheem this time however this is MY first time installing one. I got it up and running for a few seconds and then sparks flew out of the top right wire connector and it stopped working! 🙏 Please pray for my 1908 home, the renovations that I'm doing completely on my own, and for my hands and brain to be guided by God while I attempt to troubleshoot and fix my water heaters issue. Thank you for your video and for all of your help! God bless everyone

      Hi there thank you for your comment. I will definitely be praying for you.
      And to answer your question yes you can use the white wire as long you identify them so you don't create a short in the panel. Base on the area the color is to pass the code inspection. Make sure you use the size that is needed along the breaker.

      Use 6 2 awg wire for the reheem 13.
      Yes you can use whatever color wires as long as they are 6 awg size. Before you attach to the tankless or the panel you have to put black tape on the wires to show they are hot wires. Do leave them , red , blue or any other color . The green is always ground . Or the bare wire is always ground.
      Breaker is 60 double pole

    Thanks for the video. It really helped. I’m having a hard time deciding on the fittings for the water. The connection to the heater is a 5/8” compression and Rheem provided a copper sleeve to go on 5/8 tube plus a compression nut if you wanted to use smooth 5/8 tube. They also supplied what you used - a combination compression nut with a 1/2” male pipe thread on the other end. And nothing about it in their book. I called Rheem to ask if I needed to use a short piece of 5/8 tube inside the copper compression sleeve, they refused to answer, and told me to ask my plumber. I’ve ordered a short piece of 5/8 stainless tube.
    But - I missed the gasket inside the plastic cap that you mention at 8:13. Did you leave out the copper crush sleeve and just use the rubber gaskets inside the compression fitting?

    • @noellwilson1273
      @noellwilson1273 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      An update: 6-2 wg is really stiff. I had a hard time running it around the heater, through holes in the studs, and making the connections on both ends. If I had to do it again, I’d see if it was legal to run two #6 single, flexible, stranded conductors plus the bare #10 ground (that’s what 6-2 wg has).
      Rheem put an unused plastic bracket with legs on both side just under the connector for the two #6 wires. It was impossible for me to get the right #6 into the Rheem connector so I sawed the right hand plastic leg off to make it possible.
