Awesome. I've been a toy collector for nearly 35 years. In my humble opinion, these were some of the finest figures of the 1980's. Fantastic detail, imaginative design & great play value. Sadly, they were beaten to death by the likes of GI Joe & Transformers (just to name a few). It's also interesting to note that this ad used the prototype versions of the figures, particularly Kelek. His prototype featured a molded cloak and extremely limited movement. The final released version had a cloth cloak & 4 points of articulation.
I LOVED my strongheart... If the tv show charcaters had had figures...it never would have ended and we'd have gotten more sweet figs. I could only play with strongheart and warduke when that ONE specific ep played though lol ;)
It's interesting hearing stock music from Prisoner Cell Block H at the start of this commercial. I also didn't know until now that LJN made these toys. :)
But of course. :) th-cam.com/video/syrDxzgZQRM/w-d-xo.html It's used at 32:12 on this clip. th-cam.com/video/VmxVHQLMn0U/w-d-xo.html And on this clip at 41:55. It was used on a few other occasions s well during it's 8 year run, in fact many of the BGM pieces had been found and uploaded onto TH-cam. At this point in time though, I don't know the name of that particular track. Quite a few Prisoner tracks were in fact stock music used in a great deal of other things, other TV shows, commercials etc. :)
Thanks so much for posting these--I've searched for them for years. Do you have the Fortress of Fangs commercial? That is the one I remember the most and I would love the chance to see it again. Thanks for posting!
I love the animated bits of the commercials.
Awesome.

great observation! i also noticed that strongheart's cape apoears to be rubber, instead of the sparking cloth of the figure that was sold with it.
Maybe a vintage line-up that reimagines and updates the toy line for collectors.

Can you find an example of its use on that show?

And here's another example, right at the beginning at 0:33 th-cam.com/video/Be7DBgUlk_g/w-d-xo.html
LJN isn't making anything today. They filed for Chapter 7 in "04.
Ah it was a simpler time....
Yes & most toys didn't cost a arm & league.😂😂😂😂
Wait... Strongheart is protecting the treasure? Typically isn't supposed to be the other way around?

Thus far I've only encountered this one.
I had that fortress. I remember the big purple guy that set up top of it.
