  • RECIPE BELOW!!
    I love banana bread. And I love chocolate chip banana bread even more. This recipe takes hardly any time to whip up and only an hour to bake. The result is a chocolatey, fluffy, chewy banana bread. Enjoy!
    Recipe:
    4 ripe bananas, mashed
    splash of vanilla
    1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
    1 3/4 cup flour
    1/3 cup brown sugar
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 cup choc chips
    Mix mashed bananas, vanilla and melted coconut oil together in a bowl. Stir well. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda. Stir well t combine. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix to combine. Pour into a parchment paper-lined loaf pan and bake at 350 F for 60 minutes or until browned and cracked on top.

    So I made this, but instead of making a loaf I did muffins, they take less time to bake (about 20 min at 350) and instead of 4 bananas I used 3 large ones and subbed coconut oil with vegan butter. they came out so bomb!!! Thanks for the recipe :)

      Marie Can you make it without vegan butter and coconut oil?

    • @Marie-ut4ht
      @Marie-ut4ht 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Like no oil whatsoever? I'm pretty sure you can sub oil for apple sauce but I've never tried it before!

      Marie Thank you, I was asking because I only have vegetable oil and olive oil so I didn’t think it would run out right.

      Yes, you can used unsweetened applesauce in place of the coco oil..... And actually instead of brown sugar i'd probably use agave nectar and for a twist i'd try using green banana flour...... And oh my gosh i'd probably use pecans instead of chocolate chips and drop in some pecan milk as well

    Y’all- I’ve literally watched every vegan banana loaf recipe there is and this is by far the best and simplest recipe I’ve come across. It’s got the closest cake like texture, it’s rich in banana flavor and sooo moist. Thanks so much for sharing this!
    For you glorious people who want it in grams:
    123g flour
    288g bananas
    40g oil
    88g brown sugar
    3.5g baking powder
    2g baking soda
    Vanilla
    ^ this makes for 480g batter
    NOTE: it definitely matters that you fold the dry ingredients into the wet and not Vice versa. Makes for a cakeier texture rather than bready

    haha. My Grandmother always told me, I do want to hear that you have mixed the wet and ingredients together child. It was her most sacred law what I am about to tell you. She said you ALWAYS "fold" the ingredients in with a very light hand. And another law of hers was, never ever deal with flour if you are in a bad mood. Passing on the wisdom.. lol.
    Looks delicious, going to try it out today.

    So, I just made this for the second time. My family loved it! I added cinnamon to it. The batter has come out pretty dry both times, so I just add splashes of almond milk in intervals. In the end, the bread turns out fine :) Good and easy recipe to use. We need more vegan-friendly foods!

    This is a fantastic recipe! I've used it several times. I haven't used chocolate chips. I used pecans/walnuts. I also nixed 1/2 cup of flour. But!! It was so good I had to tell you. If you're looking for a great recipe, pay no attention to the vegan part if it distracts to you. It makes no difference in the deliciousness of this recipe. Delicious...I used applesauce instead of coconut oil. Mine was a little gummy then googled it and it says to GENTLY fold in the ingredients, not stir until totally wet and coated, otherwise you end up with a gummy bread. I will do this again and be gentle...delicious toasted also, almost gone already, everyone likes it!

      @itslivb  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, using applesauce can also make it a bit denser and more gummy because the oil is what keeps it moist and fluffy. But if you fold gently it should still work great and not be as gummy! Glad you liked it :)

    Will the texture of the bread change if I omit the oil and substitute the brown sugar with honey or maple syrup? Btw, ur banana bread looks amazing.. Gosh Im drooling! You are da bomb

    • @itslivb
      @itslivb  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      omitting the oil won't change it too much (just make sure you replace it with more bananas or applesauce) but replacing the brown sugar with a liquid might change it. You could always try and let us know how it goes!

    Made that recipe yesterday evening (switched out choc chips for walnuts and brown sugar for regular cause we didn’t have brown) and what shall I say.. not even 24 hours gone and I already finished it all by myself except for one slice I want my dad to try. This is the best banana bread I’ve ever eaten. Thank you for that recipe & greetings from Germany!!
