As a painting progresses, we have to stay alert. The process of painting is a constant reevaluation of previous decisions. Witness a bit of my thinking behind this painting; building on top of a drawing, adding a color foundation that will support more complex combinations of colors and values. The goal, for me, is to experience the subject in a combination of abstract poetry and natural precision.

Astonishing
there's something magical when you complete such a big canvas with high details, figure coming even more alive , something you need to see in person and digital art can't give us this delicate feeling (unless printed on largeee canvas, maybe)

Fantastic video! You can explain complex things like feelings and decision making so clearly - more so than some art teachers I have had in the UK. I’m beginning to get hooked on oil painting although I’ve never done any before.

Wow amazing
I kinda like it best in its unfinished state in the 10:13 point. It looks like the bottom half is human and organic, while the upper is ethereal, like a statue or some divine being. The finished painting is brilliant, don't get me wrong. It's the kind of work I'd see at a museum and think the creator of it was something more than human.
Your "base coat" looks like a finished masterwork. How you can even think of how to improve it is a mystery to me. Also how you can remix the right colours over and over is amazing. I bet you could use a renoir as an undercoat and improve it.

Wow. First video of yours that I have watched. The process is so interesting. I saw a video previously about the process used by Caravaggio. This way you go about this piece is very similar. Quite an amazing result.

Please wear a dust mask when you do something like this. Oil paints are safe....only if you don't eat them and especially only if you don't inhale the dust if you sand on them! Love!

Wonderful. I was expecting the model to step out of the canvas.
The opaque subsequent layers after the first painting stage seems the naturally belong to the earlier layers. It’s so hard for me to get harmony from layer to layer. Shows such skill on the palette
