bwcastillo I think the waffle strap is too thin for the metal Seiko keeper. I think I remember seeing someone use the OEM buckle and keeper on a US waffle strap. You can give it a shot, but I‘m not optimistic. I personally don’t feel the keeper jives with the waffle strap aesthetic either.
I believe the Hima waffle strap is vulcanized rubber. I have one of these straps that are used by these Chinese watch companies. I like the material of it, but the strap is much thicker than the Uncle Seiko strap. It also has a weird taper at the spring bars. For those reasons, I prefer the Uncle Seiko strap. At first I thought the Uncle Seiko strap felt a little cheap because the material has more of a plastic feel than rubber. However, the more I’ve worn it, the more I prefer the Uncle Seiko Waffle to the thicker vulcanized rubber straps. If you’re looking for a strap similar to the Uncle Seiko, cheapestnatostraps.com has a waffle strap that‘s pretty much identical. I hope that answers your question.
It’s going for a particular vintage aesthetic. I bought a few competing waffle straps and the Uncle Seiko is my favorite. I’ve grown to like this even more, but he knocks it out of the park with his GL831. That’s my favorite rubber strap that I’ve tried.
Thanks for the laugh and possibly constructive criticism. Can we agree it’s better to waffle on for 16 minutes than post a tiresome 45 minute review for Uncle Seiko’s Tire Tread strap?
If you’re not a fan of the waffle, check out the GL831. That strap is the same price and is way better than any Chinese strap you’ll find. It’s worth every penny!
You know most are made in China? Strapcode are so is Uncle Seikos and a bazillion other brands like Zelos, Spinnaker watches, and Phoibos watches and many others. I bought their Razorwire bracelet and its F n awesome!
@@Sunby59 No, it’s stiffer. The GL831 is the best strap from Uncle Seiko in my experience. I would love a waffle strap with the same material as his GL831 while keeping the same dimensions of his waffle.
@@justintonation9726 Thanks for your response. I do own GL831 and it’s so comfortable. I wanted to try Waffle for its retro looks, but wanted to see if they are comfortable as GL831.
Your Turtle looks good on the waffle. I have my SRP 777 on a Strapcode Endmill for that vintage look.
Interesting. I'd like a waffle strap that feels like the strap from the Turtle, not the skx. Wonder who makes them.
I bought an orange 20mm waffle strap and the patterned GL-831. Both are super flexible and a big step up from this waffle and the plain GL-831

Lemme ask ya this: can you reuse the oem Seiko keeper on that bad boy? Just ordered this strap but I opted for the single keeper.

@@TimelineWatchReview Just ordered 2 straps from cheapnatpstrap. Have you had good experiences on there shipping?
It takes a little while since it’s coming from overseas. Maybe 2-3 weeks.
Is this strap uv resistant? Thinking of using mine when on holiday
Great information, thanks for sharing!.
Duncan Russell?
does the fat spring bars fit the hole of that strap?
Of the Uncle Seiko strap? Yes they fit. He even sends a set with the strap.
Thank you Chris Griffin for the review.
i guess it is pretty randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to stream newly released movies online?
@Dakari Lionel Lately I have been using flixzone. Just google for it =)
AHAHAHA!!!
Awesome review.
DimitriMiles thanks for watching!
How big is your wrist?
7 inches
I love the chocolate strap form uncle
Great strap from our favorite Uncle! Very comfortable on my 6309.
Uncle seiko waffle strap is thin compare to other waffle straps.
Looks really cheap, especially the strap holder rings.

I don't know how you can waffle on about this strap for so long. 5 minutes would cover it.

Asking $39 for this is a robbery. It's truly just another Chinese strap with a logo.

WAffle strap is not good, its not pliable and it has no taper, looks weird with the big cushion case
Thanks for your feedback. Is your comment about the Uncle Seiko waffle strap or a waffle strap in general? What type of strap do you prefer?
