Good review, and I liked the drone footage, that's hard to do when you're doing everything else. I rode this bike today and really enjoyed it, I put it up there with the GS.
Carolina Cowboys thanks. the drone footage came from Ducati. They shot it a couple days before I arrived in the canary islands. i really like that bike at the price
@@steve_kamrad5216 I have been creepin 950 videos this am.... since I got my 690 my 800gsa isn't getting any love. I'm looking at getting a 950... My wife has one and gets mad when I steal it haha - crackin bike, especially since I have the orange thing for the real brown stuff. Your V4 video almost has me wanting to sell my car and the 800... But I think I'll be aight with the 950 though the whollies may be less dank.
@@ShutterRev oh man. V4R or nothing! Lol. No if you want something a little more budget a aprilia tuono or rsv4 with abs would be the way to go. A left over ktm 1090 is a rocket to.
Ha. Julia! I've been reading her articles for years! She's a terrific writer! This is going to be a hard choice between the 950 and a 1200gs I've been eyeballing for a while. I'm on the shorter side and could never consider the Multistrada before. You still get a lot more with the BMW, cruise control, clutches shifting, more advanced electronic suspension. But the 950 does have that 19" wheel which should make it a good trail bike while its older sister would be best described as passable with the 17" tire. And the 950 is quite a bit less expensive. Which do you think would be a better dirt bike the Ducat Desert Sled or this 950 Multistrada?
Newmans_Own you're asking the right questions. dirt bike? the desert sled for sure. I haven't riden one yet but I have put about 750 miles on a regular Ducati scrambler. they are very easy to ride off road. the 950 will be easier to handle than 1200gs and much less expensive. the 1200GSA is better when you push it really hard off road but it gets hand quickly and falls over on its cylinder head. I don't think heated grips are standard on any bikes and a aftermarket cruise control gadget will be cheaper than a bmw. how hard will you be pushing off road?
Dulf Nordensvärd the super tenere has the sex appeal of a school bus fire. they're so heavy and the engine isn't even close in terms of performance, fun, or passion. I wouldn't take a tenere for free.
Hi ! Iwould like to buy this bike in the next future. The problem is i like go off road, not hard clear, buti like it so much. approximately i am on road 80% of the year, the rest of the time in off road. Currently I have an old aprilia etv 1000 caponord (175.000km) and with it i drove i some off road pass between Italy and France like Jafferau, Parpaillon and Via del Sale. As I could be with this multistrada 950? THX
Ale hey man. This bike will be more than enough to handle some light to medium hard off-road. I'd go so far as to say it can handle some pretty gnarly terrain but that will depend on tire choice. On road it's a really great bike. The transmission is very good and worth noting as well. Let me know how it works out if you get one or have any other questions. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your answer!! I tried this bike in a test drive last year, but unfortunatelly only for 30 minutes and without the possibility to try it in off-road.
Hey Steve, I did the same thing on a 1200 test ride last month. Couldn't resist taking it off road! Sure enough... I got sucked into a rut and took a slider. Ruined a pannier and busted the radiator. HAHA!
@@khakimzhanmiras depends on everyone's needs. For me. Super aggressive riding I'd be on a SAR. Street duty multi, and the bmw for cross country and loaded up offroad
David Rahbany hey thanks man. Start to finish all myself really. This is actually the first video I've ever made too. My more recent stuff feels better to me. But once again thanks.
Ducati should throw you some Euros as your video may have been the last straw for me pulling the trigger on this bike. Sweet ride. Too bad you didn't get more time off-road. Cheers.
JEB the new 950 motor has some of the best service intervals on the market. My own brother just bought a desert sled with my recommendation so I mean I literally put my family's money where my mouth is.

Rad. Where are you located
Bongiorno Principessa! Who is that at 7:00?
Steve, great review! I know it doesn't have cruise control, but does the 950 have heated grips?
Newmans_Own you can get the heated grips from Ducati so they will be a factory option. also the pretty lady is in the credits. (lens woman)

Hi great review, is the 950 much slower than the 1200?
Yes, it is but the 950 is still awesome
good luck using any of the 1200's power on the street though

Aaron Lupo radiators sound expensive. must have been a good get off.
Aaron Lupo... The Multistrada is too heavy and parts are too $$$$ for off-roading... ✔
This with 1200/1260 enduro suspension and ground clearance would be my dream bike.
Well the 950 is still the 1200 frame so just grab the new 1260 which is supposed to be much more balanced
