Beach-combing at Powell Lake and Branches for Christmas Wreaths

I went to Powell Lake just down the street to gather driftwood to use around the garden, it works great for edging the beds and the pieces are quite interesting. Lots of wood washes up on the shore of the lake after a big storm. It has been a very stormy November, we have had some very high winds and wild waves along the West Coast of British Columbia and Washington State. Luckily the trees around our property swayed but none fell over. There were however lots of branches on the ground and many had big cones still attached so perfect wreath making material.
