Go in August when the kids are back in school! Where do kids go back to school in August? Anyway, Yellowstone is busy, busy, busy anytime you go. No such thing as a "slow" time anymore. Used to be, but not anymore. The difference is minimal from one time to another. My advice, if you decide to go, no matter when, pack a lot of patience. Understand that it will be crowded. Don't spend your time filming yourself, enjoy the surroundings, tune out the crowds.
One of the great things about Yellowstone is no cell service. Another great thing is that it is so big that you never run out of things to see. Furthermore, its great to see all of the animals. Wyoming sucks, tell your friends & stay home.
We = my hubby and I went to gorgeous Yellowstone twice, once back in late July 2017 and last Aug. 2018. We didn't let the unwanted traffic, unwanted crowds, and unwanted construction to ruin our trip there. Yellowstone has tons of gorgeous scenery everywhere. Miss being at Yellowstone. I don't miss the major crowds, construction at all. Wish I could go back to Yellowstone this year and next year. I took tons of pics and some videos of gorgeous Yellowstone for those 2 years. Yellowstone was my bucket list. My dream come true. I would highly recommended gorgeous Yellowstone.!!!! The Yellowstone cruise was spot of fun for us both. I heard its less crowded in the fall and winter. Just make the best of ur trip there.
We agree with everything you said! Our intentions with this video was for people just to know what to expect when visiting. We plan on going back, maybe even when there is a little bit of snow! Thank you so much for watching!👍
The rangers give you classes to identify bear skat so you can be aware of the types. They also provide a cinnamon bear spray, whistles and bells. Brown bear skat is dark and hard, grizzly skat is lighter in color, more massive, smells like cinnamon, and has pieces of bells and whistles in it.
The comments will reveal who gets it and who didn't pay attention in English class, or was educated by Google and Instagram. Oh....and a certain percentage will declare that bison are racists.
Hahaha totally! These are just the various challenges we think people should prepare for, but we definitely love the park! ❤ It's understandably popular! Thanks for watching Zaundra!
As a wildlife management volunteer in the Park, all you say and recommend is spot-on! I love your "complaints" of too many animals and inability to take selfies with them. Kidding aside, each year we have serious injuries when visitors attempt to do exactly that. Elk and bison are incredibly fast and can go from meek and mild to charging in a split second. Sooo, I wish all visitors to be safe, obey the park rules, and when you park alongside the road, make sure all 4 tires are off the roadway!
Thanks for watching glad you got that we were joking. You definitely need to be safe in the park. Yes we also touched on how people don't park in correct areas.
I live in Idaho and take day trips to the park frequently. I know how to enjoy and love it. These two should learn to enjoy life. Very negative couple and I’m glad they have each other!
Hey, thanks for the kind comment LOL. I don't know if you watched the whole video or not but the whole video was sarcasm and we stayed at the end that we love the park and give a lot of helpful tips. Thanks for watching anyways LOL
I found it odd...I go back every year I can...and I have no problem, except at Old Faithful with traffic. Wild life...I am all into that, love the elk, bison, bear, wolves etc. The herds, clans and packs are interesting. You couldn't post this and that....maybe it could have been a time of peace and quite, just you and her, mellow out and take in the sights as a personal experience. I am from Texas, fly to Bozeman, get my rental car, and I am off to Gardnier to my motel. (Jackson Hole is a rip-off on flights, cars and lodging ) I am right at the gate, off every morning and all over the place. I stay the week, at a mom and pop place. Why ? They are clean, friendly, helpful. It's their bread and butter to get through the winter so they keep things up and their prices are good on my budget. I hit the grocery store for frozen foods, use the frig, and microwave in my room, and all is good. Nope, one day was a bummer for sure
I understand their point and I think this is a helpful video for people that might have different expectations going into this park and I don't see any reason for negative comments about this video. "Can't we all just get along?"
I dont find it negative. I think it sets my expectations just right. Going to start traveling to Yellowstone this Saturday. Thanks for the heads up. My husband is very impatient in driving and glad to let him know what to expect before we head there. 😂
Thanks for the video. If I stay on a west Yellowstone hotel will I have time to enter west entrance in the morning do all the loop and be back by night to the hotel? Also is going by the end of August a good time with less crowds? Thank you
I was going to skip this because of how I experienced Yellowstone, which was awesome and not very complicated, but the comments made me rethink that. Glad I stuck around for what a different, worse experience could be like. Thanks y'all.
So glad you had a good experience! It can definitely get crazy and we just wanted others to know what to expect in a worst-case scenario. We hope you got a few laughs too! Thanks for watching.
We went in late May of 2021 and had no issues at all. You guys are hilarious. Can't even take selfies with the animals!! LOL I am currently editing my experiences in Jackson Hole, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. The entire area is amazing!
@@matthewkirkland6497 It was wonderful and not crowded at all. This may be due to us going towards the end of Covid. There was snow in the morning at Yellowstone which made it beautiful but warm enough to melt away quickly. Check out my videos for a little more info.
Haha thank you for watching Angela! Glad you caught on and enjoyed our satire! We hope this video is helpful for other people while planning a trip here! 👍
I’m in Yellowstone right now. After all the floods. Zero traffic. No lines anywhere. Only stopped a half hour for construction. Our trip has been amazing. Yellowstone probably didn’t like you either 😅
One of our all-time favorite places to go. So we went when it was cold. We agreed, traffic sucks so we got up early as well to do our looking around. People have to stop at every animal, that does get annoying. Selfie with animals - I mean they rarely smile anyway. 😂 For us, no internet except at one of the two lodges, which really sucked there as well, was our number one. So we learned you have to stay outside the park and commute in. We agreed with your list 💯. We wish we knew these things before going our first time. We could have planned better instead of learning as we went. WHY WASN'T THIS VIDEO OUT A YEAR AGO. It is all about us, you know! 🤣😂🤣😂 You guys rocked this!!!! ❤️👍👏 Donovan & Jodi
Haha guys so sorry we didn't get the video out earlier!🤣🤪 definitely glad that you guys think it's helpful, commuting in is a must especially with a large rig and being fulltime. All in all we had a great experience but hope this video will help other. Like always thank you for watching!
If it's not on the 'gram, it never happened! Great funny perspective on visiting Yellowstone - glad we're morning folks, and hopefully going during the middle of the week will help somewhat with the crowds!
Yeah guys glad you enjoyed our perspective, we wanted to show the downsides without being too negative. Mid week and early will be perfect! Thanks for watching.
We are going august and we are saying for a week so this video really helped me to tell what not to do and what to do and what time to wake up and stuff so thank you
Hey Melissa and Jesse!!!!We were supposed to go to Glacier and Yellowstone this July with whole bunches of Families, but everyone cancelled from Covid.....You two are really funny in your presentation!!!We know you are trying to deter everyone from going so you can have the park all to yourselves.....hahhahha....keep up the excellent videos....loved the comment about the animals and taking selfies!!!!Hank and Pam from South Texas!!
Thanks for watching guys, COVID has really three a wrench into many people's plans. It could be far worse though, just have to roll with it. Really glad you guys are enjoying the videos! Yellowstone all to ourselves, I doubt that will ever happen 🤣🤣.
Lol this video was hilarious! My dad actually thought you weren't being sarcastic 😂We are going to Yellowstone for 3 days on June 12th-14th! I am really excited!!!
One week minimum to camp inside the park and you still won't see everything! We loved it, but we were there in late spring before the summer crowds. Good job to point out what to expect so people can prepare for it.
Was it cold around that time? I hear there's snow. Well you are definitely right though, I went only one day and didn't see even quarter of the park. Wish I planned to stay there longer.
I have a cabin 18 miles from the west entrance. From memorial weekend though mid September I won’t go to the park. Before and after those date are excellent times to visit.
Back country hiking there is ALOT cheaper and a lot more fun. I have done it on a roadtrip. And im from Denmark. Best trip ever there was in 2019. Mid to late July. Ok amount of traffic but not a problem if you sleep in the back country for only 3 USD a night
I wish people fully understood sarcasm 😂😭. I just applied for a season job in Yellowstone! I am so excited! If I get the position I will be there from July to October/November!
OMG!!! I knew Yellowstone would be cool, but I was unprepared for HOW COOL! It is my new happy place. It's my end all be all goal to get back and be able to explore it how it was intended.
We bringing the family in July of all times and I’m extremely concerned we’re going to be wasting so much time in traffic and not actually enjoying the park. After watching this I’m definitely bringing a portable potty as well.
I think the traffic part info can help out but selfies with wild animals? Of course you can’t take selfies and yeah it is a big park that is good. I’m sure you won’t be able to go through it in one day. Lots of animals that is that what is all about.
Wow, I thought you were doing this video as a joke. Yes Yellowstone is crowded, but because it is so big it actually helps to spread out the people somewhat. Have you ever tried to camp inside Yosemite?? You are not even allowed to drive your car in the valley! We just spent 6 days in Yellowstone with our travel trailer, 3 nights at Canyon campground, and 3 nights at Grant campground. It was beautiful. We actually thought the park was a little less crowded this year because there were no huge tour busses with foreign tourists. Of course we booked our reservations 10 months ago and it was a fabulous trip. Planning makes it happen 😉
Hey Marilyn, there was a lot of sarcasm in this video maybe it was lost 😆. We almost always stay outside of parks because we love boondocking! We were definitely joking a little, but there are some things to keep in mind when going to such a popular park. Thanks for watching.👍
Hey Folks, thank you so much for the video, help us to plan our trip. Only one video that shows how to navigate throughout the park. Looking for your next video
Good tips to know I’m sure the crowds will be insane when we go this month especially with everyone back on the road now after COVID. We experienced a line like this at the great sand dunes NP Sunday morning on Memorial Day weekend. New friends from Florida :)
Oh nice, we didn't know about the app! I bet that is helpful, also the speed limits I didn't notice. Come to think of it there were many bears that we're hit by cars when we were in the area, its a shame. Thanks for watching Eric.
@@AdventureEndeavor There is on for Teton NP too. The speed limit was a whole 45 mph and in some areas it was really hard to keep it at that speed. We were there in mid to the end of June and spent 5 days in YS and that wasn't enough time.
Excellent point Nancy! True, the sheer size of the park and nature of the geologic features means it's near impossible to see the sights without a car. We're glad you had a good experience there. We definitely agree Yosemite and Zion are more scenic! 😍 The animals and active volcanic spots are the most interesting part of Yellowstone. Different parks for different things. 😊 Thanks for watching!
Lol…. Oh yes I did. I worked there. Know it extremely well. I myself am sardonic… Seriously though, DOI absolutely needs to limit personal automobiles (this is the problem). I started working there in 1986. Annual visitation was around 2.5 M. Now it is between 4.5 to 5 M. NPS will have to mandate a carrying capacity of private cars. And then ramp up a sophisticated bus system. And remember… there is just too many animals! 😂
Bison got too close to me when I was there about 10 years ago. I got on my car pretty quick. There were babies and the bison walked right up the road towards me. I guess most of this is sarcasm. Lol. Like this
I’m glad we didn’t have that experience of heavy traffic. One benefit of Covid. I agree you need to plan ahead and at least 5 days. We did not get to view the NE corner as the road was closed.
Adventure Endeavor we hit a few bison blocks and an elk block. But it amazed me that they had staff moving cars along when they found them. I loved your facetious remarks.
Thanks for the advice, I'm going to Yellowstone on the Fourth of July week with my family. We had to rent an airbnb back in January because all the hotels were rented out. The crowds are going to be horrible, but I'm looking foward to it.
So would you recommend staying in the North instead of the West? Iv been thinking how the West seems far too touristy for a week stay. Of course we still would visit the West one or 2 days but I’m definitely leaning towards the North as it looks so beautiful- I just hope it’s as beautiful as the West and I don’t regret not staying in the West.
Yeah, I went to Yellowstone back 1991 and I thought it was to crowded then. Then a few years back I went to Jackson for work and the town was absolute insanity with all the people. I did not even attempt to go to the park, I knew it would be even worse. And that is sad because it really is a beautiful place. But today it is so crowded that I did not even attempt to even do anything touristy, just went up on Snow King mountain to do my job and left as soon as I could.
Not bad early in the season, no crowds, lots of snow and no smoke from all the wildfires in the air everywhere. Just remember to bring winter clothes, remember it snowing on the 15th of July once at old Faithful.
Can I ask out of all the West Entrance boondocking did you all have a favorite spot? I have a few picked out with cell service for work but they are all 45minutes from each other makes for a long day of deciding :) Thank you!
Iurs was ok, most of them are 45 minutes yo an hour. So not really lol we wish we were closer as well. I would definitely search around on compendium, that will be your best bet.
We went the summer of 2020 and enjoyed it so much, that we returned on the way back east . And are planning a longer trip back to Yellowstone. I think 🤔 that you two out to stick to a wax museum, or a small zoo. Also, you thought that you could see 2.2 million acres in one day? It appears to me that you meet the the four Ps… Pessimist, Poor, Pissed, Planners.

The fact nobody here understands this is all a sarcastic video is wild.
Yeah, glad you got it! We felt like it was pretty obvious, oh well.
Man to I will say I was in Wisconsin and in a rv camp ground and there was no phone service so people it’s like that anywhere you go
Yeah very true!
Yeah, in Montana and Wyoming there are only two seasons: Winter and Road Construction!
Totally! Thanks so much for watching!
Lol this video was hilarious! My dad actually thought you weren't being sarcastic 😂We are going to Yellowstone for 3 days on June 12th-14th! I am really excited!!!
We were being sarcastic! Great park we enjoyed our time!
We are going on the same dates!!
Arkansas
Have fun!
@@AdventureEndeavor We are leaving Friday! We're going to the Hope Idaho Castle, Glacier National Park, and Yellowstone!
So exciting! Have fun safe travels!
One week minimum to camp inside the park and you still won't see everything! We loved it, but we were there in late spring before the summer crowds. Good job to point out what to expect so people can prepare for it.
Hey Tina we totally agree, it's tough to put a time on it. There is so much to see, thanks for watching, we hope you enjoyed the video.👍
Was it cold around that time? I hear there's snow. Well you are definitely right though, I went only one day and didn't see even quarter of the park. Wish I planned to stay there longer.
@@Pixics The day we drove in, it snowed and dropped to 28°, but after that it was nice and very comfortable.
@@asadventures_moriicoddiwomple Wow, that is freezing cold
@@Pixics Yes, but that was the only day like it. We survived in a pop-up.
Is there public toilet in each area?
Not all spots but most of them do have toilets.
I really hope this reduces the traffic.
Maybe hahah
I'm going in a few weeks in late Sept/early October in an RV and I really hope it's not this crowded, sheesh!
I Think you'll but good! But you never know!
I have a cabin 18 miles from the west entrance. From memorial weekend though mid September I won’t go to the park. Before and after those date are excellent times to visit.
Yep, we think so too. 👍 Thanks for watching Bryan!
I went to Yellowstone and I had great time. I was on vacation and it was crowded but everyone was having good time. And yes it was some road work.
We had a great time as well, the video was mostly sarcasm! It's a great park!
Back country hiking there is ALOT cheaper and a lot more fun. I have done it on a roadtrip. And im from Denmark. Best trip ever there was in 2019. Mid to late July. Ok amount of traffic but not a problem if you sleep in the back country for only 3 USD a night
Yes we 100%agree this park is great. You just have to plan it out like we did.
Definitely appreciate your honesty will be going somewhere else with crystal clear beach 💦.
Copy that, it's a great park but you have to plan around crowds.
I wish people fully understood sarcasm 😂😭. I just applied for a season job in Yellowstone! I am so excited! If I get the position I will be there from July to October/November!
Same here! Thanks for watching, that is super exciting.🤞🤞🤞🤞
There’s sarcasm, and then there’s just being bitchy dirtbags.
Thanks for all the great info , lol , going to Yellowstone soon
Awesome, glad you found the video helpful!
What’s the best time to go. We are planning May 20 th until May 27 th
I think you'll be ok, the more cold you can handle the better. Shoulder seasons, summer is busy
simple solution, go in september , less crowded. I never had a problem going late in the year.
Yes this is a great suggestion!
My husband & I have never been there but plan to go within the next couple years so we really appreciate the advice .....Thanks!!!! :)
Thanks for watching Judy! Hopefully you all are early risers it makes the days so much more enjoyable!👍
OMG!!!
I knew Yellowstone would be cool, but I was unprepared for HOW COOL!
It is my new happy place.
It's my end all be all goal to get back and be able to explore it how it was intended.
Ben Simon. I’m with you. Yaw don’t go if it’s that bad
It's a great park we have tips at the end!
What time of year and which side entrance?
We went in through the west entrance. I believe it was around mid June.
We bringing the family in July of all times and I’m extremely concerned we’re going to be wasting so much time in traffic and not actually enjoying the park. After watching this I’m definitely bringing a portable potty as well.
Yes it does take it well to get around the park. It would definitely give yourself extra time everywhere you go.
I think the traffic part info can help out but selfies with wild animals? Of course you can’t take selfies and yeah it is a big park that is good. I’m sure you won’t be able to go through it in one day. Lots of animals that is that what is all about.
Hey Jose, this video was sarcasm! We love this park, obviously you shouldn't take selfies with the animals! Thanks for watching.
You are welcome glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching.
"Too many Animals", and the Bison is thinking... Damn, way too many humans out here, can't wait until one tries to get close enough for a Selfie!
Haha too funny hopefully you caught our scarcasm.
Good tips to know I’m sure the crowds will be insane when we go this month especially with everyone back on the road now after COVID. We experienced a line like this at the great sand dunes NP Sunday morning on Memorial Day weekend. New friends from Florida :)
Yeah going early will be key, mid week if possible! Thanks for watching glad to have you following along!
There is a Yellowstone app yo can download that works without cell service. You for got about the extremely high speed limit posted too.
We totally agree with you, you need quite a but of time!
Visited 2 years ago. Traffic wasn't too bad considering you HAVE to have a car unlike more beautiful Yosemite and Zion.
“Whats the point of having animals if you can’t even take selfies” hahahaha I’m dead ☠️☠️☠️ hahahaha
Hahah really glad you got the sarcasm!
@@AdventureEndeavor funny video, I just left Yellowstone a week ago so I can relate 😂😂
Haha hopefully you had fun!
Excellent video. I had to watch the whole video.
Thank you! Hopefully you found the tips helpful.
@@AdventureEndeavor I already know Yellowstone well. I just liked the entertaining way you did the video.
Nice! Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. We had fun with this one.
OMGosh !! You can’t see the park in one day? They need to build a huge monorail system, more parking lots, widen the roads… geez.
Haha apparently you didn't get our sarcasm! Thanks for watching, we love this park!
Lol…. Oh yes I did. I worked there. Know it extremely well. I myself am sardonic…
Seriously though, DOI absolutely needs to limit personal automobiles (this is the problem). I started working there in 1986. Annual visitation was around 2.5 M. Now it is between 4.5 to 5 M. NPS will have to mandate a carrying capacity of private cars. And then ramp up a sophisticated bus system. And remember… there is just too many animals! 😂
@locojohn6637 too many! Hahah
Love watching you kids, but there was life before cell phones. :)
Yes so true Jim! We were totally joking!🤣👍 We live getting off the grid, thank you for watching.
great. no cell service. this is the best news of the day!
Yup we love disconnecting.
Bison got too close to me when I was there about 10 years ago. I got on my car pretty quick. There were babies and the bison walked right up the road towards me. I guess most of this is sarcasm. Lol. Like this
Dang! Yes most of this video was sarcasm, live this park. Thanks so much for watching.
And you guys can see half that park in one day if you live close by it you can run it it’s called getting a work out
Very helpful!! Thank you for the information
So had you found it helpful! We have a few other videos that take place in Yellowstone as well if you are planning a trip!
I’m glad we didn’t have that experience of heavy traffic. One benefit of Covid. I agree you need to plan ahead and at least 5 days. We did not get to view the NE corner as the road was closed.
Thanks for watching Bob! The traffic is a bummer most of it was construction, wildlife of the line to get in.....luckily we were heading out!
Adventure Endeavor we hit a few bison blocks and an elk block. But it amazed me that they had staff moving cars along when they found them. I loved your facetious remarks.
Yeah they do a pretty good job, its got to be tough. There are a lot of people and animals.
What’s a good place to stay?
We stayed just outside the park. Near west Yellowstone, there's boondocking.
Thanks for the advice, I'm going to Yellowstone on the Fourth of July week with my family. We had to rent an airbnb back in January because all the hotels were rented out. The crowds are going to be horrible, but I'm looking foward to it.
You'll have a great time, just try to go early in the morning!
I heard that there is cell service with Verizon in Yellowstone.
It's possible in certain areas but it's not reliable. The lodges have WIFI that is helpful if that is a need for you. Thanks for watching!
Oh that's good to know, when we went there was no service, but we don't have verizon.
Better than when I worked there in the 70's. Remember the notices at every entrance, so and so call home, emergency of some sort...
@@bhatkat I can imagine how communication was in the 70's, must've been slow.
Thanks for all the great info guys!!!
You are welcome thanks for watching.
We hate crowds. We just visited Big Bend National Park and it was amazing- and not crowded! If we get there early am will we miss crowds?
Yeah go early in the day that will help a lot. Also shoulder seasons.
I don't see any problems here.......👉😳💨 Loved how empty the NP's were earlier this year! Good vid guys👍👌
Haha no kidding. It was the best not having to wonder about parking. Bryce was the best of course. 😉 Miss you guys!
The bears
Ok can we buy a satellite phone and in case of emergency use it? I know is one dollar a minute probably but it worth it
Yeah that would probably work
Are all gates open for early arrival?
Not 100% sure, this was a couple years ago.
Thank you.
Welcome
i'm plannin to go by the end of september. would it be a less crowded time?
I think so, off season will definitely help. I THINK you'll be fine.
With June and July over 1.500,000 people that's a big no no 25,000 a day Yellow stone carpark
Recommend visiting on June!!!
We have been to both and they are different. We liked the west because west Yellowstone is a cool town as well. Its a hard choice.
Yeah, it's getting busy everywhere really, we are learning secret locations 🤣👍. Well thanks for watching Dale.
Not bad early in the season, no crowds, lots of snow and no smoke from all the wildfires in the air everywhere. Just remember to bring winter clothes, remember it snowing on the 15th of July once at old Faithful.
Yes next time we want to go when there is snow and less crowds. Thanks for watching!
Yes I would like I went there 3 times like bro
I love and use sarcsim a lot myself. By the way, you guys look great.
Thank you, we appreciate you watching. 👍
She needs make up and he's smug.
Trying to avoid some of the crowds by visiting in October :) hopeful.
Dylan I think that will help a lot, it's going to be pretty cold! I bet that time of year is incredible! Thanks for watching!👍
@@AdventureEndeavor Thank you!!
@@AdventureEndeavor thanks so much
I understand their sarcasm
Glad you caught that Craig! Hopefully you enjoyed the video!
Was this in the summer?
Yes on the 4th of July. You'll have a great time just plan ahead.
Haha love this comment! Unfortunately it seems as though you didn't catch our SCARCASM. We LOVE this park and had an amazing time. At the end we left many tips so everyone an have as much fun as we did. We do appreciate you watching. 👍
What days were you there?
We were actually there around the 4th. We knew it would be busy but we left some great tips at the end of the video.
@@AdventureEndeavor July ? We are going June 1st
Yes sorry. I would just plan on going early in the mornings. It'll be way less crowded.
@@AdventureEndeavor thank you … very helpful!!!
We are going in October. How’s the weather?
I think it will start getting cold then, shouldn't be that crowded though.
Lol we were there last Wednesday and had no problems with traffic or anything.
That's great Sheila! Maybe we had bad luck, anyways we wanted to make the video just so others visiting the park would know what to expect! Thanks for watching.
