I have my onyx and I’m still watching these videos like when I was waiting on it to get here haha. Such an amazing bike. Literally every time I take off from a red light or a stop sign, even on normal mode, the torque and acceleration brings a smile to my face. Always. Beautiful machine. The break squeak is a little annoying and the fob is a little cheap and plastic-y (and a little weird to use at first). Biggest complaint is the break squeak. But that’s such a minor con, I don’t hold it against the bike at all. Also my front break fluid level was astonishingly low when I got it off the shipping truck. Idk if it was just an unnoticed deficiency or what. But I was shocked that it was so low (like maybe a millimeter or two of visible break fluid in the sight glass). All in all, highly highly recommend. Worth the price. Oh and blinkers! A bike this small really should come stock with blinkers. You, individually, can easily install them. But I do think it’s pretty dangerous riding it in traffic without blinkers. A mirror would be next on the recommended list, but it’s not hard to turn and look, and usually when you’re riding you have pretty good situational awareness. I think this bike embodies loophole culture, and should be ridden as such. Sidewalks, steet, alleys, etc. no one really cares (from my experience, in my small 50k population city) where you are or what you’re doing because it’s such an interesting machine. I do believe I’m the only one in my city with a high powered ebike, so people are more curious than they are salty because you exercise loophole culture. Which is nice! Oh, absolute last thing! The kickstand!!! Omg. I change my mind, this is the most frustrating thing. It stands the bike up like abnormally straight. So a slight dip in pavement or a strong gust of wind AND THE BIKE WILL TIP OVER. I hoping over time the weight of the bike will slowly start to build pressure on the kickstand resulting in a more stable prop up. BUT HOLY FUCK. I couldn’t even park it when I took it to work the first day. The pavement was too uneven. I had to go find a different spot. So please please please BE CAREFUL with that. ALWAYS keep it in mind. You have to crank the wheel and make sure is stable before letting go after you prop the kickstand. I havent dropped the bike yet, but there has been so many close calls where it’s no longer my fault. It’s definitely just a poor kickstand. But again, just make sure your bike is stable before letting go and you shouldn’t have any issues. It’s just one of those things that always needs to float in your mind or YOU WILL drop the bike.

Seriously, the only thing holding me back from purchasing one of these is that it weighs 145 pounds! I’m looking for a bike that’s 90 pounds or less for so many good reasons. Having a bike that weighs that much is not convenient in the long run Albeit still weighs less than a gas powered motor scooter.
