    I enjoyed watching the ONYX videos. Sweet ride for sure but I think im more of a super 73 / actual E bike kind of a guy. I like the idea of cruising and light off road while drinking a beer and shit like that. Say hi to everyone T.O. Thousand Oaks for me. Miss that place. Cheers dude. Having a bike that weighs that much is not convenient in the long run Albeit still weighs less than a gas powered motor scooter.

    These bikes are in a grey area of bike/motorcycle. I was followed by a cop riding but I was doing about 20 mph and pedaling in a bike lane. Never been pulled over or questioned but the cops are definitely watching me when I ride here in Mckinney Texas. I would definitely be pulled over here in Texas for riding like you do there in California.

  • @jcreed09
    @jcreed09 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I have a feeling the Regulators will come after these style of bikes- E "Motorbikes"- no longer resemble bicycles and draw attention. Onyx, Super73, Juiced, Monday, Huck, Ariel, Zugo, etc. are making killer product but could be victims of their own success. I'm gonna get some hate for this but may have to be proactive and regulate themselves to avoid European style regulations like mandatory license and insurance OR limit to lame no-throttle, 250W like the EBikes. I'm thinking driver's license required?- avoid having kids riding them. Better to impose restrictions on yourself than having John Law doing it eventually with a heavy hand.

    • @LifeAsDane
      @LifeAsDane 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can't argue that. Exact reason I went super73 Hudson blue with the S2. The black looks like an old-school motor bike and the R series look like motorized dirt bikes. Only time will tell. Not many ebikes like these in my town.

    • @jcreed09
      @jcreed09 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LifeAsDane Riese & Muller, Haibike, IZip, Schwinn, Trek, even the dual motor Super-Monarch look like bicycles, nobody cares; the Folder bikes are cute commuters, old RVers ride them, nobody cares; the Rad Runners are utilitarian and are like Honda Cubs or whatever "you meet nice people on a Honda", nobody cares; but Super73 RX, S2 , the Onyx, Juiced Hyper Scorpion, Monday Gen7 looks like Serious Shit In Your Face Rides- which is fine with me but gonna get unwanted attention and inspection

    Been watching your videos for a couple weeks now, enjoy your content, love what you do! I'm not trying to be rude or start anything up by saying this. I might be wrong and this is purely speculation, but seems like you gave your R a bit more of a beat down than the RCR? S73 definitely has some issues they need to tweak, but I feel like with any ebike, hitting down a flight of stairs, hitting some jumps or being chucked into a trash bin will mess with a thing or two on the bike? Obviously a rental is something you gotta be careful with and I get that. Hoping you can at least get the v2 motor for the meantime and keep your videos coming! Appreciate you taking the time to make these.

    • @XDmitchie
      @XDmitchie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parker has definitely put his bike through tough siht, I feel like his bike can't be the v1 motor because that thing is invincible. I saw that vid, RCR def didn't sound right on the landing lol Truthfully I just think these two bikes aren't at that level for off roading. Seems like everyone I see taking them off roading, happen to end up with a broken bike. Kudos to you for being brave enough to test these bikes out, I feel like I'd be so worried for anything to happen, I rather just be a pavement princess lmao

    I have my onyx and I’m still watching these videos like when I was waiting on it to get here haha. Such an amazing bike. Literally every time I take off from a red light or a stop sign, even on normal mode, the torque and acceleration brings a smile to my face. Always. Beautiful machine. The break squeak is a little annoying and the fob is a little cheap and plastic-y (and a little weird to use at first). Biggest complaint is the break squeak. But that’s such a minor con, I don’t hold it against the bike at all. Also my front break fluid level was astonishingly low when I got it off the shipping truck. Idk if it was just an unnoticed deficiency or what. But I was shocked that it was so low (like maybe a millimeter or two of visible break fluid in the sight glass). All in all, highly highly recommend. Worth the price.
    Oh and blinkers! A bike this small really should come stock with blinkers. You, individually, can easily install them. But I do think it’s pretty dangerous riding it in traffic without blinkers. A mirror would be next on the recommended list, but it’s not hard to turn and look, and usually when you’re riding you have pretty good situational awareness. I think this bike embodies loophole culture, and should be ridden as such. Sidewalks, steet, alleys, etc. no one really cares (from my experience, in my small 50k population city) where you are or what you’re doing because it’s such an interesting machine. I do believe I’m the only one in my city with a high powered ebike, so people are more curious than they are salty because you exercise loophole culture. Which is nice!
    Oh, absolute last thing! The kickstand!!! Omg. I change my mind, this is the most frustrating thing. It stands the bike up like abnormally straight. So a slight dip in pavement or a strong gust of wind AND THE BIKE WILL TIP OVER. I hoping over time the weight of the bike will slowly start to build pressure on the kickstand resulting in a more stable prop up. BUT HOLY FUCK. I couldn’t even park it when I took it to work the first day. The pavement was too uneven. I had to go find a different spot. So please please please BE CAREFUL with that. ALWAYS keep it in mind. You have to crank the wheel and make sure is stable before letting go after you prop the kickstand. I havent dropped the bike yet, but there has been so many close calls where it’s no longer my fault. It’s definitely just a poor kickstand. But again, just make sure your bike is stable before letting go and you shouldn’t have any issues. It’s just one of those things that always needs to float in your mind or YOU WILL drop the bike.

    Have you or someone you know ever tried riding one through a drive thru? Would it even trigger the sensor?

    Hey man, I don't think many people are talking about 18:00. But you get an internet fist bump from me for that. Good looking out for other people.
