- tldr use Tag Filter "forge:ores" to replce OreDict Filter "ore*".
Sorry I got a little ranting in there but in this video I explain how to use the new Digital Miner from Mekanism from Minecraft 1.15, Tag filter that replaced the OreDict filter. I also explain what item is used, the Dictionary, to get the tags you need for the filter.

ok so i was having an issue with setting the filters as well and found that if you are using JEI you can hit F3+h to bring up the advanced tooltips, then hover over an ore in JEI and hold ctrl to show the tags for the item. there is also this post from Janurary in the github that ur referencing.

4 YEARS LATER AND THEY STILL HAVE THE SAME FUCKING PROBLEM
I have been trying to use these tags and not getting any match..... -_____- The only way I can get it to work is if I have a block in my inventory and use that on the ItemStack
