    Awe yes the classic French ingredient of cookie butter

      collin corbean I know right, I was thoroughly confused when I saw that, they are usually made with pastry cream and chocolate on top and I thought they would do that... But nooo, cookie butter, the obvious choice?!?

    • @haleybrewer2373

      collin corbean they may be twists of traditionally eaten desserts, but idk. That did seem weird

      I'm french and I can tell you that you're right... the most popular version of "éclair" is definitely with chocolate on top and pasty cream inside :/ I had almost never seen a "éclair" like this (with cookie butter)
      I'm sorry in advanced for the errors ^^'

      Don't be sorry for your mistakes, that was better grammar than many native English speakers. :-)
      And yes I didn't think "cookie butter" was particularly French haha.

      Michelle Miyazato I think it's more like Tasty style desserts. Even the American dessert is off. Tasty style is different. I am not wild about how they change their recipes.

      Michelle Miyazato Yeah I was think the same thing, I don't think they're intentions are to insult people's countries but to give their twist on things being an inspiration.

      And they never do anything from Russia or any Eastern European country, even though like 90% of all Western European recipes are based on some Eastern European or Mediterranean recipe from a long-ass time ago. I'm guessing that Tasty bases their recipes off of 1) what's available in Walmart, 2) what other channels have recently done so that they can rip them off, and 3) whatever is politically friendly and well-represented in media (so that former Cold War enemies and countries that aren't discussed much are simply ignored).

    1. Im Brazilian and I never saw that dessert
    2. The language spoken in Brazil is Portuguese not Spanish so it would be banana as in English not platanas as in Spanish
    3. Again, in Brazil we speak Portuguese not Spanish, it's "doce de leite" not "dulce de leche" for f%#€ sake
    4. If that was really a thing it would actually be called "Banana frita recheada com doce de leite" BECAUSE WE SPEAK PORTUGUESE NOT SPANISH!!

      Bananas (which, in American English, isn't usually applied to pplantains) and plantains are different species of the banana genus, though perhaps the Portuguese language doesn't make a distinction. However, we do distinguish the two in the English language and in American cooking. Dulce de leche is actually part of the English language, one of many crossovers from Spanish. There is no non-Spanish, English word for dulce de leche. Buzzfeed is no doubt well aware that Brazilians speak Portuguese, but since most of their audience speaks English, they wrote the recipes in English.

    • @kennikitty
      @kennikitty 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You expect americans to know the difference between an austrian and a german dish? Usually in these types of videos: if it sounds german, it's german. Austria has so many awesome desserts.
      For a german dessert, they should've gone for either black forest cake or bavarian creme or red fruit jelly with vanilla sauce or something like that. Bavarian creme is god tier, though. Once you eat, you'll never stop. NEVER!

    • @SaheeliRai
      @SaheeliRai 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Krampus If you want to be this precise: 'Strudel is related to the Ottoman Empire's pastry baklava, and came to Austria via Turkish to Hungarian and then Hungarian to Austrian cuisine. '
      or if you speak German:
      'Vermutlich liegt der Ursprung des Strudelteiges in Arabien, von wo aus er über Ägypten, Palästina und Syrien bis in die Türkei gebracht wurde. Von dort aus gelangte das Rezept nach der Eroberung Konstantinopels im Jahr 1453, möglicherweise aus der türkischen Baklava oder einem gefüllten Fladenbrot weiterentwickelt, über den Balkan nach Wien.'
