You are making me more envious with every video. What could be better than finding two vintage hot rods. People of that era put them together with what they had or could scrounge. By today’s standards , it might not have been great but, if it got you rolling it was acceptable. Bringing back memories of my youth one video at a time! Thanks, Matt.

Hot rod was all about using what you had! We will be making slight changes to the cars for safety reasons but other then that they will be staying as built!!

This Ford is like a vintage wine. It is the remains of a season, the sweat, the energy of the factory workers, the hands of the salesmen, mechanics, the people who contributed to its existence. It's a reminder of summers and winters past. Scents, colors, and visions of 9 decades ago. It's only a decade older than me.

I was gonna say, never had a winch yet, but I believe I recall guys wearing gloves and controlling how the cable feeds or wraps onto the spool. So it doesn't wrap all over itself to the point where it can't even come back out because its now to big a diameter and hits the inside of the housing. Perhaps some winches have an automatic feeder that would walk back and forth side to side helping the cable wrap and wind up on the spool properly. So it doesn't try and wrap around the spool in only one spot, locking up the unit...........Others likely have experience on that end more than I do currently. Though I'm planning to add a winch to a 4wd project I'm about to start. Killer car find though. Love those wheels and the tires too. I'd love to build a '34 5 window coupe eventually.

Great cars Matt! Glad you could get them. I look forward to hearing that 34 running.

Yes you will be driving that red one this spring for sure. I think wonder if the brakes master cylinder are underneath it? It would be very nice if the windshield would show up. Maybe not though I dont think the flat glass is all the expensive.

Yea after we looked it over we found they cobbled together a weird bracket under the car in an odd location but still left some of the mechanical linkage. Really odd. We'll clean it up and get it going again for sure!

Hey, Matt, that Honda CL350 you tugged out of the way of the '34 - are they auctioning that, too? Pity I'm in the UK, else I'd bid for it. Another great video, BTW!

Yes it will go in one of the auctions. Not sure when!

The early to mid 60's hot rods are my jam. There are so many mag wheel options, engine options, brake options, and interior options that all fit into that era. You can sneak in comfort options like A\C and power brakes too and still be period correct.

As soon as I saw this video and you said you bought a couple of the cars, I already new which ones they were. Welcome to the Deuce Club Matt!
