- [KiniNews] A “critical witness” is set to file an affidavit to support former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's judicial review seeking to serve house arrest for the remainder of his six-year jail sentence.
The former finance minister's lead counsel Muhammad Shafee Abdullah confirmed this when approached by the media after in-chamber case management of the matter at the Kuala Lumpur High Court this morning.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said he has no information about a purported addendum added to the partial pardon granted to Najib, which would allow the former premier to finish his sentence under house arrest.

i support unity government, but najib should serve his sentence properly or at least let the justice system do their work without any intervention from anyone. we know najib is guilty one way or another in the 1MDB case. either he is complicit or negligent in doing his job, either way he should pay. we need accountability.

Why not just ask the Palace to clarify the issue. Did the former YDPA issue a decree to change the sentencing to house arrest or not?

Rule of law means in accordance with the principle, due process of legal system. Which means it can be manipulated via parliament and judiciary

He is such a well loved figure by his supporters and after stealing billions, he should be well rewarded. He should be under house arrest in monthly rotation of the Presidential Suites of Six or Seven Stars Hotels in Malaysia. He is after all, once the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Why spend so much time on a person who found guilty for corruption when he was a prime person who appointed to take good care of a country?
