- [KiniNews] Police have detained Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh upon his arrival in Kota Kinabalu this morning.
The Umno Youth chief could be heard in a mobile phone video recording saying “No fear, no surrender” as he was escorted into a waiting police car at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, electoral watchdog Bersih decried Najib Abdul Razak’s judicial review leave application to allow him to serve the remainder of his jail term under house arrest.
This was due to the current practice of house arrests only being granted to those serving minor offences with prison sentences under four years through the Licensed Prisoner Release Programme (PBSL), the Bersih steering committee said.

As we all know about Malaysian law, Akmal was released soon. If it were a non-Muslim, it would be different. He would be charged in court tomorrow and fined or jailed.

My thoughts exactly..no doubt,we Muslims do not condone the disrespect towards our religion and the negligence of the management of KK mart in letting it happen..however, the respective people have already been charged, and in fact KK mart itself has taken legal action against the suppliers of the socks... not to mention that KK mart has apologised to the Agung and public, so in that light,leave it to the authorities to go through the process, and stop harping and repeating the same mantra in the name of Islam...Akmal is not only inciting unnecessary anger and social disharmony but also displaying an embarrassing behaviour especially as a political youth leader... jangan Sampai orang menyampah dengan Bangsa melayu islam disebabkan orang2 macam Ni!!! But active calls for boycotting and to continue bringing up the issue by Akmal despite the Agong's orders to not exacerbate and prolong the issue is blatant and utter disrespect to the Agong, who is the leader of the Islamic faith of Malaysia. If Akmal doesn't respect the leader of his religion, do you really think he is going to respect the god of that religion? He is just putting on a show with us as puppets that grow his influence and relevance. By using religion for his personal agenda and instigating chaos within the nation, Akmal has already betrayed his faith, and both him and his cronies shows an utter lack of the moral qualities one would expect from a Muslim.
