  • After finally getting the slip clutch off the shaft we decide to go further into the winch for a quick inspection before reassembly.

      Yep. She put up a fight and some head scratching. Not just on disassembly but trying to figure out the level of moron that had caused these problems. Think we got it all figured out and hopefully ready to go back together.

      @@bayoudiesel that would be awesome….it would be nice to see how it’s supposed to go back together. I dont think ive ever seen one of those style winches….i might have seen one on a shrimp boat….a long long time ago

    What oil do you use? I heard you should use special oil because of the bronze.

      I run Rotella t4. 15/40 in all my 7.3’s. I do have friends that run other oils in theirs like delo 15/40 or shafers. To me any quality diesel oil would be fine as long as you stay with one and not mix oils. But I’m a Rotella man as for mine.
