You must have got a gimped copy of Elite Force on the PC, because the single-player is indeed in there. Also, and I'm not making this up, I laughed so hard with the Manu bit, I gave myself a charlie horse. This is agony! And you're a good boy Joe, the Constitution Refit IS the best ship. Its all sleek and sexy.
It's there on the Mac version too. There also released a patch that included Jeri Ryan doing Seven of Nine's lines, instead of the voice actress that is in the shipped version of the game. Sadly, the Mac version was only compatible with Mac OS9. There was no OSX patch, so getting it to run on a current machine is pretty difficult.
Yeah! I seem to remember a pretty okay Borg murder-simulator attached to Elite Force PC. I only barely recall the arena shooter, even though it was all-but-expected given its origin from the Quake 3 engine. It's just what you did from '99-'02 or so.
Wait what? You didn't find the single player campaign option in the main menu of Elite Force? You must have run the wrong desktop shortcut, if I remember correctly it creates 2, one for single player and one for multiplayer. It's one of the 10 best single player campaigns of 2000s PC shooters! It's a love letter to Star Trek fans, with the original cast and a better plot than most episodes of the show. They even made an expansion pack where all you do is explore the Voyager in its entirety. Joe you have to go back and play it.
It does? That may have been it. That's kind of dumb though and hardly something I would expect. There are a lot of icons on that particular desktop so it makes sense that it would get lost. I'm too lazy to hook up the PC and boot it up again to check but so far your explanation sounds the most reasonable.
I checked the manual of the game and now I'm sure it's one of those games that had two shortcuts. I think it had something to do with the Quake 3 engine because Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Jedi Outcast/Academy and Call of Duty 1&2 did the same thing. Yeah, it's confusing.
The single player of Elite Force is actually fantastic! I love that game! By the way: You spend most of the second game on the Enterprise-E. It's just the prologue that's on the Voyager.
Absolutely. The two Interplay adventure games are Year Four in my headcanon. (Frankly, I wish someone would actually canonize them. I mean, they represent the last time the original crew was ever assembled for a project. That's gotta count for something.)
You know they kill him in Picard, and torture him too! Gotta love new trek, they give the people what they want - the senseless and gruesome murder of a harmless yet geek character.
Please do a part 2! You missed all my favorite ones. ST Armada, Invasion, Starfleet Academy, Klingon Academy, Dominion Wars, Bridge Commander, and the Starfleet Command series.
Ok, half of those are not good. But definitely a thumbs up for Armada and Bridge Commander. Also, they need to do 25th Anniversary on PC, Judgement Rights, and A Final Unity.
Shattered Universe on PS2 and OG Xbox is another one they missed. I know its not highly regarded or anything, but I thought it was fairly ok. Nowhere as bad as Star Trek JJ Abrams for 360 or Star Trek Trexels.

This episode was GREAT! It must have taken quite a bit of extra work to get the intro and closing just right, but the end result is spot on. My favorite Trek game is the one you closed with. The sit-down version of Strategic Operations Simulator is really, really fun. A local pizza place had one when I was a kid; I used the money I earned from my paper route to play it a couple of times a week. Sitting in that “captain’s chair” and hearing Spock welcome you aboard was almost worth the price of admission itself. I may have to give the TNG game on NES a shot now, after watching this. It looks interesting enough- I’m not sure why I avoided it.
Nah the first game shown was for SNES and then after a minute or so I talk about the Genesis version. I created a "beam in" segment for the SNES and the Genesis carts, but I liked the Genesis one better because it reflects on the console. There's nothing reflective on the SNES. HOWEVER, I got much further in the SNES version when I was recording gameplay so I made it the primary focus of the review.
I remember most of these games, awful for the most part save for elite force. I am surprised though that you two managed to miss one of the better games that was made for DS 9, Deep Space Nine: The Fallen. criminally underrated, I don't even see it mentioned here in the comments. It's a pretty damn fun third person action adventure style game.

Love the intro and outro guys. Not a big fan of the series myself but you made it interesting nonetheless. BTW our company makes (Perfect World) Star Trek Online.
the “suck trek” theme is amazing!
also thank you for being one of the channels that gives subtitle users a little extra love :)
#BringBackIcheb
The outtakes were awesome!
Blake: You know you loved them. You're not fooling anyone here dude.
Star Trek and video games are two of my favorite things, sadly I feel they don't usually mix well but you guys have showed me some interesting games that I didn't know about to go check out (as usual). Loved the episode.
The sacks of the many outweigh the sacks of the few or the one.
This episode was awesome. Loved that intro. Was a bit surprised when you started talking about the PC version of Elite Force being an arena shooter only but had a campaign in the PS2 version. I remember there being a campaign (and a good one too!) on PC. Don't even remember the multiplayer portions.
Justice for Icheb!
and O'Brien must suffer, don't forget.
Absolutely LOVED this episode! I had Star Trek Judgement Rites on my computer back in the day and played the heck out of it!
Bootleg Harry Kim, love it!
Excited to see the notification for a new upload....
Wish I liked Star Trek 🙁
"the beam room" ok yeah Dave not a Star Trek fan lol . The ONLY Star Trek game that I have ever really enjoyed was the 1995 Star Trek The Next Generation A Final Unity on PC.
"TH-cam , the frontier of yesteryear, these are the commenters of the TH-cam comment section, on their never ending mission to type original and unoriginal comments , to boldly reply where no other comment has gone before "
First!
"...to blandly go where no other salty troll has gone before"
"What kind of stupid name is that?" Ah priceless. Great episode guys I can see you all had fun with this. Great editing, footage, a guest interview and appearance, loved it. Im not a big ST fan but even I know most of the games don't do the franchise justice and youd think they would. But then again some Star Wars games are hit and miss too. Hope you guys tackle that one. Awesome job guys!
Oh my god!! The first few seconds alone made me unload my sack
Premature gamesackulation.
That was absolutely hilarious, I finally lost it at the Bootleg Harry Kim. This is easily one of the best episodes you guys have ever made. Keep it up! Kudos to Manu Intiraymi for being such a good sport and a great guest. He's proof of the many genuinely nice and down to earth actors that make Star Trek such a great experience.
Great episode i love Star Trek to bad most of the games kind of suck
Never thought of you two as Trekkies but this episode is a big treat 👍🏽
Kirk or Picard?
Icheb
But he's not a captain
And yet he's still a better captain than Janeway.
I love you guys for not giving a crap about being PC, please don't ever change.
In all fairness I became an awesome helmsman. We need to play this again.
Great job on this one guys. I love Star Trek, and I'm particularly fond of Voyager. It's awesome you guys were able to get Manu to guest on the show. I'm glad he was willing and able!
Just what I needed after a lot of stressful college work
Was going to write the same exact thing. You're not alone! Praise the sack!
i watch game sack since day one....and i love it since day one....but since today...since i know joe is a trekkie....i love em even more =P you guys are doing a great show!!! and *lol* dave was young...at one point =P
those were some of the best outtakes ever!! *lol*
So i have been on a crazy DS9 marathon finally watching it for the first time after watching TNG and then you do a video about Star Trek Games?! Coincidence??? I think not! Dave and Joe you’re stalking me and my TH-cam history. I actually appreciate it though 😂 especially with great videos about Star Trek and retro gaming.
Edit: and you start with a DS9 game?!
Exactly like me hahahaha
Let me guess, you've been watching it on Heroes & Icons
kari jackson idk what that is i have been watching it on Netflix lol
No prob. It's a cable channel that shows every Star Trek series 6 nights a weeks.
kari jackson oh that sounds like a channel I’d love 😂
14:20, that's the Turbo-Lift control lever. (as seen in _trials and tribble-ations_ , step 1: pull lever, step 2: state destination, step 3: put lever back in neutral, step 4 wait for destination)
That opening... LOL
BEST thumbnail EVER!!! Had me in hysterics! :-D And very, very funny video. Great editing, great content! You two - Joe & Dave.... two of the best! :-) Thank you...….
It's 2 AM EST, and I ain't sleeping until I get my Game Sack
wintdkyo literally me rn
you know what they say, I'm easy like sunday Mooooooorning.
It'll still be there in the morning.
I saw Star Trek once.
That's the one with the whales, right..? :)
its the one with the green midget elf and the tin can robot
The best part is Dave in the fugazi shirt
The first game was on the Genesis, but you said it was for the Super Nintendo. Is this some sort of mind trick?
Nah the first game shown was for SNES and then after a minute or so I talk about the Genesis version. I created a "beam in" segment for the SNES and the Genesis carts, but I liked the Genesis one better because it reflects on the console. There's nothing reflective on the SNES. HOWEVER, I got much further in the SNES version when I was recording gameplay so I made it the primary focus of the review.
A "jedi" mind trick??? Lol
@@crshovveride That's Star Wars, not Star Trek. I'm cringing so hard now. 😂
@@Wykesidefruitmachine i know lol just trolling:)
WHY NO ICHEB!?!!?!!
I remember most of these games, awful for the most part save for elite force. I am surprised though that you two managed to miss one of the better games that was made for DS 9, Deep Space Nine: The Fallen. criminally underrated, I don't even see it mentioned here in the comments. It's a pretty damn fun third person action adventure style game.
never clicked on one of your videos so fast
The GREENDOG enterprise was the best ship and the Gamesack show truly shined from Season 3 onwards!
You guys should review game sack
They did. They said it sucks.
That Manu guy is an incredible actor. I may have to actually attempt to make it through Voyager again.
Good job, boiz. I'm watching this while taking a hot bath..
Game Sack and Star Trek! Awesome! Loved this episode guys, set phasers to fun... I'll get my coat! ....
Waiting for the jerks at CBS to hit you with a C&D
Nice Fugazi t-shirt Dave. Repeater album is one of the greats.
It is indeed. I saw them in concert once. I'll never forget it, what a great show.
You guys pulled out all the stops for this one. Perfect mix of effects, balanced between cheesy and funny. Great video.
I'm just passing by to tell you that the thumbnail of the video it's sensational! Congratulations for the idea: showed the idea of the video in a fun way!
Didn't like Icheb character in Voyager, but he seems like a great bloke and make fun of himself which always gets a massive respect from me when people can do that.
