You made that look so easy. You are amazing at painting and decorating. Had someone paper my walls and pulled it straight off as soon as they left. I’m a perfectionist and wouldn’t have been able to cope with it

The brush is better.it won’t tear the paper like you said. And I think it leaves more adhesive for the paper to bond to the wall. Also I think? The plastic things that some use, can leave more of what’s going on underneath the paper after all the scrapping that’s been done.if the walls are perfect that’s not a problem.but that’s not always the case.jmo

Great tips as usual, can you show how to measure a room to work out how much wallpaper needed for the job.

Great video as always.Im just about to start wallpapering the landing, stairs and hallway.I have sanded, filled, sanded, filled and the walls are nice and smooth.People mention sizing the walls, please can you explain what this is and what’s the best thing to use and how and when to use it.Keep the videos coming as I think a lot of us have learnt a lot from your knowledge and expertise.👍

Thank you, size was made from bones and you added hot water. It was horrible stuff it stunk now we use diluted PVA... and really it's only for a porous surface. Size is like a glue it helps seal the plaster a little and gives gripe for the paper, so that when the paper dries the joints don't open up.

Painting and Decorating Can you use diluted wallpaper paste and if so do you paste the wall with the diluted wallpaper paste a couple of days before you start wallpapering or at the same time you start to wallpaper..Thanks

@@Rich-fr9xn Personally I would not recommend sealing plaster with diluted wallpaper paste. Diluted PVA allow to dry 40 minutes sorted.

Great video, thanks. I've always known that soaking was important but didn't realise you could soak the paper for too long. With the paper you were demonstrating, is it best to take odd numbers from one roll and even numbers from a second roll to minimise waste? Is this something you could explain, please? Thanks, Mark.

Thanks. In talking to my wife about this, who is my long-suffering assistant when I hang paper, she also reminded me how important it is to try to get the same amount of paste on each piece to minimise differences in stretch.

Well does not matter to mush more important on time soaked. You can have to lengths pasted the same and leave one soaking longer before hanging it. Once paper is hung it starts to dry straight away really and that stops the soaking process.

Painting and Decorating I’ve recently done a child’s bedroom feature wall which was a pirate themed world map.... many little lines and patterns to match up perfectly. Looks very effective!
