Thank you for the video. You did an excellent job of explaining the pros and cons of this boat. I would’ve loved to of had one but unfortunately they’re just simply out of my price range. I was actually quite surprised to see that this line of boats was as expensive as it was. I was not aware of the fact that both had increased in price so much over the last five years. It looks like you have a great boat that you can enjoy for decades to come!
Best review of this boat on here. In ordering the 1654 or 1648SC this morning. I cant use the big motor here but if she can drop the motor down im getting the 1654T. Thanks for the video man.
Its a nice boat! Ive currently have a 2019 tracker Grizzly 1860 jon with 60 hp tiller on it. I use to have a Grizzly 1754 jon with 25 hp on it. If i ever buy another hunting boat, it will be the 17' with side console or this boat like yours, but in woodland camo
That is a LONG tiller handle, especially for where the seat is located. Does it interfere with operating it with a seat mounted there or do you have to just use a cushion and sit off to the side? I bought one....but have to wait for spring to really see how it will work as it's stored at the dealer. May have to add another seat mount to the left a bit looks like.
3blade was the old one (don’t remember pitch) I just replaced with a 4blade lost speed so I’m still playing with it too. I’m gonna go back to the 3 blade I think. (Stump and I didn’t quite get along duck hunting had to do a quick eBay replace.)
33 is about tops with the factory 3 blade if you trim it while underway...... I need a spare as well...my lake drops down in the fall and I beat the hell out of my motor hitting stumps and rocks and ice. ....won't do the 4 blade....may play with prop pitch. If you load your boat up, you lower the pitch to get on plane faster as it has better initial torque...but you'll lose top end speed..but if you run fairly light, you increase pitch to gain speed. 33 is a good speed overall.
Been looking for one of these without a motor, but the website only shows with motor options. I've got a 25hp outboard already to put on it, think that'd be enough for this thing or do I need to drop down to a 1648?
@@chrissnider9555 I think you could be okay on a 1648 but yeah not this boat join the tracker grizzly page on Facebook and search it for rigs like you’re thinking about and you’ll get good idea of speeds and stuff
Hi can you explain about the foam? Does the foam retain water? Working on my loan, should have the boat in 2 weeks!. I'll check with Tracker about increased weight regarding the foam but if you can explain more that would be helpful. Thanks for the video.
In my opinion don’t stress about the foam. I make 30mph and that’s plenty fast for me. I keep the boat under a carport in the humidity of the Mississippi River. If you remove the foam and it sinks you’re not getting it back. Never weighed it to see a difference. I feel like you get sucked in on the Facebook pages about it and think it’s going to be an issue and it really isn’t maybe 3-7 years down the line but if you removed foam I highly recommend putting a foam back in its place. May seem wild but Metal sinks foam helps you not lose the boat completely in an accident.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure Hmmm.. Yeah I had no issue after I played with that. I don’t use the seat. I sit on the side so that may have some reasoning why I don’t feel as hard a pull? Idk just shooting ideas for yah.
Great Vidya. Would you buy it again? is a 25hp enough or is a 40 hp too much? would you rather have a split rear bench (lowe boats have this) to reduce the twist in your back as you steer the boat?
40 is perfect so far. I like my bench full across the back so 2 people can bass fish comfortable. But I don’t use the seat post I sit on the side to steer works great for me.
It's a nice boat! Bad thing is is max motor rated is 40 hp, I think it can take a 50 or even a 60 hp. I currently on a Grizzly 1860 jon with a 60 on it
How big of a rod can you fit in the rod box? 7ft? Could you also give measurements on the gun box? Those things aren’t specified in specs on the website. Please and thank you
@@simssboyy1446 Sorry so late for the reply but the box is about gun box is 7in deep, about 5in wide, 55in long. It has a shell box that is 9in long same depth and width. Also rod box I have 4 bass rods all 7ft or plus in it. Fits fine I just put the bottom two rods in the same tube.
@@kalebsanders9266 it’s ok man. I had already had the boat ordered when I commented before i got it all figured out. Thanks for getting back with me anyway

Yeah I got rid of that janky seat the first day. I just sit too the side.
Do you find the 6 gallon fuel tank is good enough for a whole day on the lake/river?
Not an issue for me!
Do you know how long the deep part of the deck is , trying to figure out how many hunters could squeeze in
What pitch prop do you have on there? I have the exact same setup. 2016 1654 with a 21 40hp merc. Been playing with props and not quite getting 33.

Nice work Kaleb!
Did you have any issue with your motor pulling to the right? Even after moving trim tab, mine still pulls right.
I haven’t had an issue have you adjusted your tension nut?

Thanks man! I live a stressful life lol
How long is the shaft on the trolling motor ? Too long, too short, or just right ? TIA
Too long in my opinion but it’s not foot-pedal so it works out nice sometimes I’m 50/50
The hole in the gun box that you put the bolt in is actually for a pad lock
For sure but it still wobbles with a lock
