- The video talks about basic terminology used widely in instrumentation and calibration field such as what is zero Adjustment , how to calculate span for the instrument, what is Span Adjustment and what is the significance of Linearity Adjustment .
Span is algebraic difference between upper and lower range values
Therefore
SPAN = URV -LRV
“Zero” is an offset adjustment. It means that if the measured value on an instrument is 2% up or down, that it just needs an offset or zero adjustment around the set point.

Hello. How should the zero span setting of the transmitter, which measures with the continuous purge system, be made?
Hello.. Could you explain me your question in detail please
Great content
Thanks for the Feedback !!
Very good channel
Thank you very much!
AWESOME INFO!!
Thanks
My situation we have a 3 tiered vacuum pump system in an industrial plant. Someone moved the pots in the Barksdale pressure transmitter. Normally the pumps would cycle once vacuum was reached. Now all 3 pumps are running all the time.
Vacuum was set to run between 24 to 26hg, and the program would cycle the pumps as needed. Started empty all 3. Once vacuum was achieved depending on demand 1-2 would run. During the course of the day the system would cycle the 3 pumps. Alternating pumps giving equal run times. Not anymore.
I am new at this so how would I go about seeing my span and null?
Sorry...This is more about process issue. I don't have answer for this question.
If a die of convergent design how to set zero and span values?
How can I do a calibration for a positioner through span and zero adjustment?
Hello
I have made one video on positioner calibration. You can watch by clicking on following link.

Does mean the same between zero and offset?
No, It is not
Pls explain how to carry out span, zero and linearity adjustments for model 763 Samson actuator valve.
@@abbafelectrical3577 I will make video on this topic in future
What is two points calibration?
Hello Ritwik
Thanks for your question. Zero & Span Calibration is known as two point Calibration. In two point Calibration, Value is corrected at two different points.
@@InstrumentCalibration thanks you very much!. Can you please elaborate with example??? Plz🙏
