Paladins are an embodiment of the Light, priests believe and have true faith in it. Pallies summon the light through will, priests use it through prayer. That's a big difference between the two, not as much wether or not they prefer close combat, priests can be battle clerics.
Being an embodiment of something and believing in it are not mutually exclusive. And if Paladins control light with their will, then why are they using weapons? No, you're talking gibberish. It's the way they prefer to do combat that decides their role.
0:39 - The human is Robert Strongblade, I rp as him! Next to me is Selisa Ashwood, and one of those druids is called Mythundis! I roleplay as Riccuel on the server "Argent Dawn" EU! :D
Doronsmovies Quite indeed, yes! I got a request too, I am always interested in going to learn some lore, but I think it is all too much sometimes..- Can you maybe make a video covering some big events in the Alliance / Horde histories? I think it would help alot of people. :) Anyhow, I think you make just GREAT video's, and I definatly reccomend this channel for newer players to learn a bit :D
Great video but the difference between a priest & paladin is that priest calls upon the light & cast it, while the paladin does the same but also channels the light through their body. "Galell snatched up a nearby sack, whipped the door open, and clasped his hand around Orovinn’s throat, driving him against the far side of the hall, channeling the strength of the Light into his grip, trying desperately to ignore the clash of discordant noise within his head as he did." That was from the chapter Blood of the Highborne from world of Warcraft paragons about how the blood elves became paladin & the 1st few Blood Knights of the order. Galell was very weak physically before he became a blood knight & by channeling the light it make him stronger. Ingame term I'll have to say something like the seals.
You said that the Order of the Silver Hand later transformed into the Argent Dawn, but that's not exactly true. After Arthas killed most of the paladins of the Silver Hand, the remnants became the Scarlet Crusade. The Argent Dawn was formed until the death of Alexandros Mograine, when Fairbanks spoke out, revealing the corruption of the Crusade. Those who listened left and formed the Argent Dawn.
Actually, the tauren ARE paladins in the exact same sense as the humans and dwarves. Mu'sha, the moon in tauren mythology, is the tauren name for Elune. Just as the night elves get their druidic power from Elune, the tauren get their druidic power from Mu'sha. An'she, the sun in tauren mythology, is the tauren name for the Light. Aponi and Tahu recognize An'she not as a physical being, but a representation of the Light in the world. The Sunwalkers as well as the tauren priests draw upon the power of An'she, so therefore, they are channeling the EXACT same powers as the humans and dwarves. Also, the dwarves are VERY prominent paladins, more so than the blood elves until Burning Crusade. Since the humans first encountered the dwarves, the dwarves have learned the ways of the Light from the humans, and one of the first five paladins in the Knights of the Silver Hand was a paladin. Throughout the duration of World of Warcraft and Burning Crusade, dwarves were devout followers of the Light, but in Wrath of the Lich King, they returned to their Titanic origins, although some dwarven paladins still exist in the Knights of the Silver Hand, who have been in hiding for years since their dissolution. The draenei are by far the greatest followers of the Light, and every draenei, paladin or not, has a connection to the Light in the form of their racial ability, Gift of the Naaru. On Draenor, the paladins, known as Vindicators, were the most prominent caste of draenei, led by none other than Exarch Akama. When the draenei came to Azeroth, the Hand of Argus served as the police force of the Exodar, led by Vindicators Boros, Aesom, and Kuros. Although all draenei can join the Hand of Argus today, they are in fact the last remnant of the original Vindicators of Draenor. Aside from the Hand of Argus, many draenei paladins remained on Draenor, going into hiding with the naaru A'dal and becoming the priesthood of the Aldor and the vindicators of the Sha'tar. After the blood elves came to Shattrath, paladins in the Sha'tar joined the blood elves and formed the Shattered Sun Offensive, which is arguably the most prominent draenei paladin organization still in existence.
Wow....i never knew the first five paladins of the silver hand were paladins. I thought they would be warlocks or druids....but *paladins* i could never picture. Thanks for that tidbit of knowledge. Next thing you're going to tell me is that dwarves are dwarves or night elves are elves
Attention Roleplayers! If you are looking for a Paladin Roleplaying guild, check out the Caelestis Templares on Silver Hand, or our other branch, the Caelestis Exercitores on Moon Guard.
hey Doron some paladins within the scarlet crusade did the right thing in fact brother crowly in Legion declared that the scarlet crusade would assimilate into the alliance and all the fanatical torturers would be deemed enemys of the true crusade. They now serve the alliance church and are basically a non-neutral less undead tolerant version of the argent crusade
Mind redoing the druid rp guide? Most of it was really just a debate about history and who founded what, rather than how to rp druids effectively. I felt like it fell short of its potential in what it could have explained, such as various nature magic, less emphasis on shape shifting and more on the 'groups,' and just more about druid abilities in general.
Possibly Pie I did forget to cover the important groups, you are right there, but I think i explained fairly decently what druids are and how they work. I might do a lore video at some point, to explain the worgen part of the backstory and all the various groups.
Alright, I have a question about the light - to use its powers, do you have to believe that your cause is right and just, or do you have to believe in your cause and that it's working? For example, if you tried to use the light for selfish, evil reasons, and you knew that, would you be able to use the light, if you believe that your cause is working?
What stops other races and/or classes from using the light if all it requires is conviction? I know Night Elves can be priests, so why can they not combine that usage of the light with their knowledge of warriors to create paladins? What stops a simple hunter from enchanting/blessing his arrows & bullets with the light, or just making ammo out of pure light to pierce through foes? If all it requires is faith in yourself and your beliefs, what stops him from aiming his hands and casting a smite? I'm talking strictly lore here btw, not gameplay reasons.
Me, my sister, and our best friend rp a trio of blood elf sisters. Mine the older sister is a dps demon hunter, my sisters is the second oldest and is a tank death knight, and finally our friend's is the youngest of the three and is a holy paladin
Question; because the way the Horde members worship the Light to become Paladins, is that why they are more tolerant of the Forsaken than the alliance would be?
This is a daft question, unrelated too, but do you know why there are druids of the talon in the alliance garrison, cant find a straight answer anywhere?
Hey Doron I was wanting to know what you thought about implementing more melee into the hunter class, like a separate spec for the hunter so we can melee again much like survival hunters back in the day but with more melee abilities added too it and shorter ranged dps? Just want to know your thoughts on it, great videos man!
I tend to RP as my main character, a former Knight of Strongard, Warrior of old Arathor, turned Paladin of the Silver Hand, veteran of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd War & a all the other major campaigns after. I suffer a lot of PTSD Vietnam style, drink heavily and known sexaholic womanizer with a heavy amount of a elven & dreanai women fetish. He is mot exactly a true devote of the Light let alone a pios follower or believer of the Light, but someone who has strength in its virtues, but is not blindly foolish of them. I was heavily inspired by the Legend of King Arthur and Knights of The Round Table, The 12 Piers if Charlemagne, The Teutonic Knights, The Knights Hospitalier, The Knights Templar from our world history with a bit of debauchery from George R.R. Martin A Song of Fire & Ice with Knights of Realms in the Andals and the Mounted Warriors of the North in Westeros.
Quickly Doron! Ride out with me, ride to Silvermoon and meet them, at the first light of dawn, teach them that cat-girl anime warlocks princesses is not proper roleplay! (Blood Elf RP on US servers is ..let's just say, it makes you wanna gouge your eyes out with a fork sometimes.)
Doronsmovies is it possible for you to help a new rper out with his story and stuff like that. like in a private chat cause i could use a little help with figureing out how to role play
Doronsmovies all I know about argent dawn was the continental RP argument. And how EU acted when they got the argument banned as if they won Lol. Was really funny... And a tad bit annoying. I think it was about if you can make your character directly related to former characters and ignore lore to do that
Sheut the far seer Emerald Dream isent the biggest RP server; but were a very large Rp/PvP server. Huge Wpvp battles and some RP stuff. Some trolls, some idiots; as per the usual However our server does have the LARGEST single race guild in the entire game. Clan Battlehammer; over 700 dwarves.
xi Nerd Lord ix Its difficult to understand though the original idea in the classic sense was a priest with hand to hand combat. Though in theory its more of an accession that a priest cannot obtain. While a priest can channel both the light and shadow the focus of the paladin light (like the green lantern) depends on inspiration of their cause. Somewhere between there is monk.
I believe some people have bigger light energy and can be bigger paladins. Plus I guess it takes a lot of devotion and dedication in order to be a paladin, unlike being a warrior.
Doronsmovies Are you saying being a warrior is easy?! One does not simply run at mach 5 speed across a battlefield while carrying metal armor and weapons without proper training and dedication. :]
xi Nerd Lord ix When I say dedication I mean more along the lines of giving up on stuff to follow the way of the light. In the Day of the Dragon the silver hand paladins traveled in a group and they were much like monks.
Doronsmovies The only book i read was the Athas one and for him it seemed like being a paladin was easy, the priest just blessed him and he suddenly became super strong and carried that hammer. It just seems like any race can become one if they have access to holy magic. But game mechanics only let a few certain races be paladins, but for some reason every one can be hunters.
I rp on defies brotherhood in the regiment (It's like the guards) and if you have a rp guild I would like to join your one Ty for reading I hope you had a good day :D
Doronsmovies Hm... I think, if that's what you wanted to do, it's ok. I just want to mention, that the title could be missunderstood. If I read "Roleplay Guide" or "How to Roleplay..." I'm expecting something else. But as said above: I liked the video. ;)
Doronsmovies you're with them? I remember spending a bit of time on Defias and seeing your guild around, cool guys, tempted to make a return there soon (argent dawn currently has a hold of me though!)
Nathan Buchan I started playing on argent dawn a bit more as well since the guild from my dwarf transfered there and it is much better for rp, so at some point it might even be my main server.
For crying out loud. what a lot of yadda yadda. A palladin is nothing but a warrior that has learned som spells. in the beginning tincans prevented spell casting. but in order to create some new in games they had to come up with some. dark paladins believe in darkness and can throw spells that make you wommit - fart and get thinshit. or what ever. (my own creation) ha ha ha.
It is a lot of fun to create a story and play that story out in real time, having friends to help extend that story through rp events. It's fun to some not to all. More misunderstood than anything
+Leo Tokarev Well look at it this way. A. You log on daily, quickly try to grind up to max level, try to get better gear and get angry if somethings get in the way of it, like someone not doing an encounter correctly or something. Do the dailys, sit in a town at an AH or someplace just waiting to be called in for a dungeon/bg/arena. And when you have everything you wanted, you just wait for the next expansion or make an alt or whatever... B. You find a group you can casually or a bit more seriously RP with while playing. Sure the leveling may take 2-3 times as much time, but it turns a grind into an adventure, even with 2-3 players only. Creating a close bond, not just between you and the other player, but between you and your character. I started late in Vanilla, barely got to to 58 before BC hit, but literaly 80-90% of what i played in wow was on my Druid, because i love the memories of the adventures we had and what that character is. A beast, a friend, a defender, a mischevious-sneaky joker who pounces on your back to surprise you, but can be a real asset if things get serious. I have only RP-ed ingame casualy and we didn't do many great things, aside from a few dungeons that we shouldn't have been able to clear on our own, but we did it most of the time somehow. So basically as i see it, you can either just play a class that you want in a certain role as your main because it's strong or whatever reason and have fun achieving stuff, getting loot, ect. Or you can rp a little, actually immerse yourself and feel what that class really is, like what the light means for the paladin, what Elune/Earthmother is to the druid, and ad a ton of fantasy to a game with a good layer of extra fun.
Well you literally asked what's good about it, what's the point. I just explained the best i could while trying to keep it short and to put it even shortet, it's really fun. It's the frosting on top of the "cake" that the game gives you. Some like it, some don't, and some don't get it because they never experienced it.
Rito Cold me, i was just expressing my opinion. I like the other videos of this guy so i didnt dislike this. Plus i was having a bad day then. Also, i like your profile picture. (cause kitties :P )
all though i like your videos i find these "how to rp" guides silly, I mean I dont know why anyone would want to role play lol its really lame and I can only imagine the type of people who actually do this dont have much of a social life or many real friends besides virtual friends they meet in WoW. anyways lol at RP people
george gonzalez That is not true at all. If you don't like something you don't really have to push it in someones face. I find a lot of things weird but i'm not commenting on those saying how they are freaks.
george gonzalez Do you think authors are weird? Because that's what roleplayers are. Authors, that constantly work with other others, to create massive intertwined stories.
If you read the discriptions of the virtues of light of the church of holy light from the humans and then the teachings from the Draenei in Shattrath near A'dal, you see that the Humans have build up a far more complex and deeper philosophy about the light than the Draenei.

I think Nobbel put it best:
"If you have faith within yourself - within the cause that you are fighting for - the Light will respond."
have you read the ashbringer comic where a troll belived in the light so technically if he was a warrior you could be a self thought paladin

Doronsmovies besides a Rogue a Paladin is the only other class I got to max lv. at least in wrath and caty.
This is a daft question, unrelated too, but do you know why there are druids of the talon in the alliance garrison, cant find a straight answer anywhere?
Can you do a vid on draenei shaman vid asap trying help a freind with lore (already checked shaman vid but nothing said about this race) thanks
aw, kinda hoped you'd mention leroy and chicken.
Do you play on Argent Dawn EU? I think I recognise some of the characters in your clips.

If you could reply to this txt I would appreciate it, I'd have a hard time finding it in your q&a's lol
+Sebastian Gracia Your wish is granted.
+Ryan Luong yes yes it was, too bad can't use 2 melee wraps though, I shouldn't complain though.
I like to rp as a merchant and I was wondering if there's a good class for it I usually go hunter
Hunter goblin
Rp guide on monks? I really dont understand gnome monks
Gnome monks= Bull ants
I tend to RP as my main character, a former Knight of Strongard, Warrior of old Arathor, turned Paladin of the Silver Hand, veteran of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd War & a all the other major campaigns after. Man, that's so funny. I almost have the same backstory.
Can you make a video about demon hunter.. or is it too soon?
+YunaQQQQQ8 I will do an rp guide on it. I did make a lore video on the demons hunters recently.
Doronsmovies Awesome!
Question: Are you online often on your human on Argent Dawn?
Mitar Zecevic Not really, I'm usually on my main on Defias brotherhood. I don't have too much time to play alts.
Doronsmovies IM ON DEFIAS TOO :Dsame as the yogscast :D
Just curious what RP server do you play on?
Defias brotherhood is where my main orc is and I also have a human on argent dawn.
Can you do a rogue RP guide next?
Do a hunter RP guide
Quickly Doron! Ride out with me, ride to Silvermoon and meet them, at the first light of dawn, teach them that cat-girl anime warlocks princesses is not proper roleplay! (Blood Elf RP on US servers is ..let's just say, it makes you wanna gouge your eyes out with a fork sometimes.)
I wonder what being of light would give the gift of light to the Humans and for what reason
What is that armor at 1:50? It looks so awesome.
it's the judgement armour you can get it from black wing lair
Judgement Set. It's tier 2. You can get it from BLW and Molten Core.
Doronsmovies is it possible for you to help a new rper out with his story and stuff like that. like in a private chat cause i could use a little help with figureing out how to role play
Honestly i love RP :D
RyanGamingX1 [TH-cam] same
Monk next! Panda master race~
Hey doron, wheres the best Rp server u know on US (assuming you are on US ofc)
I'm on EU so I really wouldn't know. The best one for strictly roleplay on EU is Argent Dawn.

Sheut the far seer im on Emerald Dream; dont come here go to Moonguard or you will have bad time.
Zulatobari Greatforge Any stuff at Karabor and Bladespire?
Woooo Paladins!
I dont get why not just anyone can be a paladin. Is King Varian not righteous enough for the light? what if Gamon wanted to be a Suncow?
xi Nerd Lord ix Its difficult to understand though the original idea in the classic sense was a priest with hand to hand combat. Though in theory its more of an accession that a priest cannot obtain. And with the guild thing it can be on any rp realm
And for the next wow lore what kind of character do you want to be the main in next expansion and who do you want to get rid of?
What if a paladin thinks ,that something he has done was wrong... But at the time he had done it he thought it was right?
Scarlet Crusade.
13:12 *heavy facepalm and sigh* oh god this guy.
I like the video!
But I'm not sure if I would consider it as a "RoleplayGuide".
It's more like a LoreSummary of Paladins, isn't it?
Dr.Lore That's what I strive to do. It's presented for the roleplayers but esentially it is a lore lesson.
Doronsmovies Hm... I think, if that's what you wanted to do, it's ok.
I just want to mention, that the title could be missunderstood. If I read "Roleplay Guide" or "How to Roleplay..." I'm expecting something else.
But as said above: I liked the video. ;)
What guild are you in on your Orc? Don't worry I'm not a stalker
Orcs of the Red Blade.
Thanks

BY THE HOLY LİGHT!!!
I think Exarchs are the first paladins.
Can you do Huntard? I MEAN HUNTER
Love the video but found your voice a little hard to follow, is there a subtitle option in the future?
+Skynova All of the recent videos have subtitles.
+Doronsmovies how to roleplay a demon hunter
+Doronsmovies how to roleplay a demon hunter
Can you do mage next?
Boybandhair Not sure yet, but do check out my arcane magic video it covers quite a bit.
So rp is inn now? ._.
chaosdream1 I'll give you credit for thinking it.
Devon Brown lol
how is this a guide? it's just explained lore i'd say
***** It is supposed to give you the basic understanding of the class. What it is about, how it works etc.
For crying out loud.
what a lot of yadda yadda.

No offense to all of the role players out there, but I don't get what's the point of it.
I mean, all you do is acting, that's all.
+Cro the Stray listen I'm not a role player, I'm a completionist
Well you literally asked what's good about it, what's the point. I just explained the best i could while trying to keep it short and to put it even shortet, it's really fun. It's the frosting on top of the "cake" that the game gives you.
Some like it, some don't, and some don't get it because they never experienced it.
Er,ahgerd, I'm so early! ;A;
never heard of the "turd war" is it called that cus the belfs got shit on?
You Russian? Because you have this Russian voice)
Serbian
8:24 the turd war dude the third war wasn't that bad
Please don't. RP a paladin as if apart of Christianity.see this all the damn time.
Lighten up on the nobbel accent, I think we can all tell it's being forced a little much here. Just trying to be constructive.
My ears hurt because of your accent! I honestly can't watch this video. Though, i've decided not to dislike it (but nor will i like it).
Rito Cold me, i was just expressing my opinion. I like the other videos of this guy so i didnt dislike this. Plus i was having a bad day then. Also, i like your profile picture. (cause kitties :P )
all though i like your videos i find these "how to rp" guides silly, I mean I dont know why anyone would want to role play lol its really lame and I can only imagine the type of people who actually do this dont have much of a social life or many real friends besides virtual friends they meet in WoW. anyways lol at RP people
That's a pretty negative way to look at rp.
Boybandhair yea I guess. Its just weird to me
george gonzalez That is not true at all.
Frankthegb I guess that makes sense, its just funny to me is all
If you read the discriptions of the virtues of light of the church of holy light from the humans and then the teachings from the Draenei in Shattrath near A'dal, you see that the Humans have build up a far more complex and deeper philosophy about the light than the Draenei.
