I have seen comments on sad songs by many, remembering their lost loved ones. I have always thought how hard it would be for them. Never did I think, I would be one of them. Here I am today listening over and over to the song my best friend once suggested me and I instantly fell in love with. this, overjoyed, and actually most of bad blood, make me want to cry like a baby. i can’t believe it’s been ten years since i was a teenager falling in love with bastille.
This song is so beautiful and so meaningful. It gives me chills listening to it and it brings tears to my eyes, but that's what a good song should do to you. This song is so powerful to me that my words aren't forming right. I just wanted you all to know this, and I only hope you feel the same way as me when listening to this song.
It's really special for me too.. I don't know , I'm a huge fan of Bastille and every single song of theirs is just so good , but somehow I come back to this one everytime ❤️
It’s been over a month I lost my brother.. I miss him every second of everyday.. I listen to this song and it reminds me of the times we had and I cry a lot as well.. I miss you YOMI. I wish I could trade places . I will love you forever.. in this life and the next..
This may sound Toxic, but its true. When someone u loved, leaves u broken their's this one song that leave behind . And at first you hate that song because it brings back all the memories and that constant agony, but over the years while listening to it you realise that it is the same very song that actually helps numbing the pain.. I was thinking about this earlier: I know the videos aren't "given a meaning," but what if the videos are about how people react to death and the side-effects it brings with it? Bad Blood: Lover/partner's reaction Flaws: Your own reaction Oblivion: Your family (possibly friend's) reaction
Builibou well, some people commit suicide because they are so sad about their friends or sisters or someone they cared abouts death. i think it's a brilliant theory btw AGlitterWizard
I think this video is beautiful. Of course, I love Sophie Turner, but it also seems like this connects so well to the previous videos. It seems to me that Sophie's character lost Dan (as he previously drowned in 'Flaws,' I think) and is now trying to reach him again or connect with his spirit through his music (and his jacket). That's my interpretation for why she sings with his voice. And then, when other methods fail, she decides to follow him into 'Oblivion'... perhaps to death.
This was on my playlist whenever I'm reading a book some years ago, and everytime I hear this, it reminds me of the stories I've read, the characters whose lives I got to play in my head. It always gives me the nostalgia, reminding me of the feeling of flipping pages and smelling old books.
If you watch the 3 videos: Bad blood, Flaws and Oblivion, by that order, you ll see that it has a meaning. It's a sequence. In my opinion it represents the reactions people around us and ourselves have of death. For example in the 3 videos, u see that they all have THAT jacket. For me, in Bad blood, it's her gf reacting the fact that his missing, in flaws it's himself understanding what have happened to him and in oblivion, I'm still trying to understand but maybe it's her family. Give me it opinion please

OMG WHAT SOPHIe TURNER. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY FAVOURITE ACRESS FROM MY FAVOURITE SHOW (got) AND MY FAVOURITE BAND ARE IN THE SAME FREAKING VIDEO?!
The comment section is funny but it totally made the meaning of this song lost somewhere. The lyrics are so beautiful and i actually am realising this after 5 years, i came here seeing Sophie Turner but i still come back due the music.
6 years ago this song guided me through the toughest roughest phase of my life... And now when I hear it and think back I just say damn oblivion called my name..
Every time I hear this song, I am simply... speechless. It moves me in a way I don't think I'll ever be able to understand. I don't think there's been a time when I haven't cried. It just connects with me on such a deep level. So thank you, Bastille, for the song that will be played at my funeral, whenever that may be. Just... thanks.
During my wife's complicated risky pregnancy with our daughter, I first heard this thought provoking song and music, which perfectly reflected all of my thoughts, feelings, worries, and emotions I had at the time about the unexplainable emergent properties of life, consciousness, time, love, and of the entire universe. I would listen and sing this song to her while wondering what she would look like, what kind of personality would she have, what would her entire life, experiences, and existence be like, would she have a family of her own one day, and live a very long, meaningful, happy life, would I always be the father to her that I needed to be.
Remember when Damon Told Elena to leave him and turn back Because it would make him happy when this song played in Vampire dairies that’s when I cried for this song
This hit me very hard. All the scenes that played through this song. The result of Hayley’s betrayal, Tyler finding his dead friends, and Stephan raging about the info Caroline gave. Hits really hard!
The people that don't like this video are the same people who wonder why their song "Pompeii" is called "Pompeii" despite the word "Pompeii" not being used in the song
Meekaeel Ajouhaar He means they're thinking way, way too far into it -- thinking a song has to have an exact meaning and something they can find out about it. One does not become a "true" or "hardcore" fan by being the one who can discover the secret depth and meaning behind a song. Real fans of good music (and music videos) should just experience the thing given by the artists, enjoying it knowing that the artists made it the way they wanted to.
pompeii was actually a place that was covered in volcanic ash, the bodies that were found were so well preserved that you could tell what the people were doing right before they died. thus the song "pompeii" actually does have meaning to it, you just had to know your history.
I watched this video ages ago cause I love Bastille without knowing who she was, I literally finished GOT yesterday and got this on my recommended today... TH-cam is really watching

Give me your opinion**
Everyone read this explanation and see the others videos.
words can’t describe how much i love this song
The Queen in the North!
When you fall asleep
With your head upon my shoulder
When you're in my arms
But you've gone somewhere deeper
Are you going to age with grace?
Are you going to age without mistakes?
Are you going to age with grace?
Only to wake and hide your face?
When oblivion is calling out your name
You always take it further
Than I ever can
When you play it hard
And I try to follow you there
It's not about control
But I turn back when I see where you go
Are you going to age with grace?
Are you going to leave a path to trace?
But oblivion is calling out your name
You always take it further
Than I ever can
When oblivion is calling out your name
You always take it further
Than I ever can
This song gives me chills of being alone in the dark under the rain, crying....
so true
OMG WHAT SOPHIe TURNER. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY FAVOURITE ACRESS FROM MY FAVOURITE SHOW (got) AND MY FAVOURITE BAND ARE IN THE SAME FREAKING VIDEO?!
And favorite song.. omgg
The comment section is funny but it totally made the meaning of this song lost somewhere. The lyrics are so beautiful and i actually am realising this after 5 years, i came here seeing Sophie Turner but i still come back due the music.
Such a deep thoughtful melody, along with Sophie's performance is perfection. Reminds me of London city, peacefully misteryous.
Love the violin at the end❤️
cello!
Mohammed Zayne me too
How dare you not recognize this mystical sound?!
His voice 💗. The voice I would love to hear for the rest of my life.
What a nice style for using sansa. I clicked immediately when I saw her.
Every year I listen to this song. It always brings me back to to when life was good, being young and free
I can't help but cry every time I hear this song
TH-cam, why are you recommending me this, I've watched all of Bastille videos thousand times
Six years later, this song still makes me cry...

Doğa Yiğit OKAAAA
Doğa Yiğit yes ,1m visits in 24 h
And at that moment , Stefan Salvatore knew Elena wasn’t his anymore
"How close are they, Caroline?"
"Tell me"
*starts throwing table*
this makes me so sad even though I prefer Damon and Elena
Vampire diaries 😫😫😫😫😫
Watching that part right now💔
Just watched that scene. 😭 it brought me here. 💚
This whole album helped me through addiction. But I think this song was the key song to helping me
Every time I hear this song, I am simply... speechless. It moves me in a way I don't think I'll ever be able to understand. I don't think there's been a time when I haven't cried. It just connects with me on such a deep level. So thank you, Bastille, for the song that will be played at my funeral, whenever that may be. Just... thanks.
Just a year ago all the comments are about GoT and now it's not even relevant anymore.
But this masterpiece of a song will live on
nope its still damn relevant and will be for a while!
This song makes me cry
During my wife's complicated risky pregnancy with our daughter, I first heard this thought provoking song and music, which perfectly reflected all of my thoughts, feelings, worries, and emotions
I had at the time about the unexplainable emergent properties of life, consciousness, time, love, and of the entire universe.
I would listen and sing this song to her while wondering what she would look like, what kind of personality would she have, what would her entire life, experiences, and existence be like, would she have a family of her own one day,
and live a very long, meaningful, happy life, would I always be the father to her that I needed to be.
This song always seems to make me cry (it reminds me of someone)
Same😭
This song still gives me chills.
It's so beautiful. I love this song it literally makes me wanna cry
literaly make me cry too the dan's voice in this song is amazig...well in all the songs..but i feel in this, he touch my heart literaly!!! 😍😭💚
So true
@@dallanaquijada7798 That's so true. It's a really beautiful song, especially the cello at the end, it's just.... 😍
Still one of my favorites Bastille songs even after 10 years since its released
Remember when Damon Told Elena to leave him and turn back Because it would make him happy when this song played in Vampire dairies that’s when I cried for this song
It's the reason I'm here, wonderful song, wonderful TVD scene.
Yea man same reason!!❤️❤️❤️
Watching that episode now actually. Such a beautiful song
Yeah! I’m here because I saw in tvd, amazing this serie 🥺
Explain
Meekaeel Ajouhaar He means they're thinking way, way too far into it -- thinking a song has to have an exact meaning and something they can find out about it. One does not become a "true" or "hardcore" fan by being the one who can discover the secret depth and meaning behind a song. Real fans of good music (and music videos) should just experience the thing given by the artists, enjoying it knowing that the artists made it the way they wanted to.
So accurate
mrchuckmorris thanks
pompeii was actually a place that was covered in volcanic ash, the bodies that were found were so well preserved that you could tell what the people were doing right before they died. thus the song "pompeii" actually does have meaning to it, you just had to know your history.
Truly beautiful.
The song is beautiful, not the video though.
ndg43 whats not bbeautiful about this video
Martha Washington the video
The cars
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG I REALLY LOVE IT! I don’t no why but it so beautiful that makes me cry (literally)
Oh my god! Isn't that the girl who plays Sansa in GoT?! Also, amazing video.
Yup
Música, cinema, copa do mundo, séries de tv, 7 minutoz, rezende.. 2014 foi um ano inesquecível mesmo 😍🤧
Pq 7 mnz??
That girls voice frightens me.
yeah.. it sure is :(
***** I know, it's a joke.
Wow me too.
***** Wait WHAT???? Dan is dead in this vid? i did not get that picture...
She's Sansa Stark!
I watched this video ages ago cause I love Bastille without knowing who she was, I literally finished GOT yesterday and got this on my recommended today... TH-cam is really watching
Bro I remember when the comment section was filled with people trying to figure out the meaning and now it’s filled with Sansa fans the queen of the north 😂😭
Sad same
Can somebody tell me the meaning of the song? :(
I swear 😭
@@rom9426 the first para is about a person slipping into a permanent sleep (death ) I think so
@@antheiaaurisedits8777 thank you :")
Bastille have always been in a league of their own.
This is the shortest song I have ever heard! and the best
It's 4 minutes, not exactly short.
+Tendai Mhiripiri It's actually 3 minutes without the first clip... and it feels short tho cause the song is so great!
Aboud Scott yeah there's like only a few lyrics in the song hope it had been longer
4min is actually about average
Bring back my reckless glory days of good old times... So many memories... 😭😭
2:42 Cersei? Is that you?!
😂😂
😂
ahahahah
OMG 😂😂
really!! XD
I was confused when the singing started
Then I realized it wasn’t her singing
I laughed
I cried
And then fell in love with this video
hahahaha me too
only Bastille could make something like a derby feel like something as elegant as a waltz.
Damn. Time flies 😢
