I just love the fact that you’re honest. Just because a brand sends you free fragrances, doesn’t mean you kiss their ass so you can keep getting more free fragrances. That’s the problem I have with ALOT of these perfume TH-camrs. They rant and RAVE about every single fragrance they get, but once you get it it’s trash. Aka middle eastern fragrances 🙄 I have never jumped on that train and I never will! I love that you don’t really talk about them much. I just appreciate that you’re honest, that’s all I’m here to say. I also love your long videos, and the science tidbits you put in about fragrance. It’s absolutely fascinating. ❤
I think Kilian's Oak accord has indeed an Apple touch to it. Their original "Apple Brandy" perfume also has Oak listed and gives off an apple smell as well. Love them both!!
The way you're feeding my perfume obsession right now; I don't like to spend money on myself but perfume makes me feel amazing, and I'm letting myself branch out and buy myself scents that I really want. Thank you

girl i had the exact same reaction to happy dust by narcotica!! i'm absolutely in love with this fragrance. it's sooooo pretty and delicious. i was actually stopped by a girl on the way into work to tell me how good i smelled when i was wearing this!! ❤
I love a good dupe, who doesn’t? I haven’t tried Angel’s Share but I blind bought Lataffa Khamrah and it is one of the greatest perfumes, in every sense, of all time. It is so classy, unisex, comforting yet strong, boozy but cinnamon sweet. It smells like a seductive, woody, holiday retreat. It’s very grown up and sexy indeed. I love it. Lasts FOREVER and hearing your description of Angel’s Share further proves to me that Khamrah is the perfect dupe. Highly, highly recommend.
As someone who has tried both, Khamrah isn't close at all and wasn't intended to be a dupe. That being said, some people do like Khamrah better. I heard Maison Alhambra Kismet or Fragrance World Cocktail Intense is the closest.
@@bethyhowl6035 that’s interesting because it has definitely been called a dupe by multiple sources, even if it wasn’t intended to be. I personally purchased it for that reason alone after doing some research. Also, based on her description (and that of many others that review Angel’s Share), it does seem that they are pretty much the same. Maybe they do smell completely different, but that would be incredibly odd if the scent profiles are so similar. Do you prefer one over the other?
@@joannacardoso1115 Angel Share is better in my opinion. I don't get any Apple Pie from Khamrah, which is what I liked about Angel Share.
I've yet to try the other two that I've mentioned.

Peach being a synthetic made from a lactone aldehyde makes so much sense especially for Kilian Good Girl and Good Girl Extreme. Both have peachy milky aspects to me from the osmanthus. The original even smells a little spoiled imo like some peach fragrances to me, but the Extreme manages to take more of the creaminess from the lactones.
Happy Dust is my #1 scent of all time 😊

It has amazed me since I started getting different perfumes and wearing them how much a perfume can change from initial impression to long term wear. Love your reviews Emma! Fall fragrances in my rotation are Tihota, Blanche Bete, Delina Exclusif and Vietnamese Coffee (I just ordered a full bottle from Luckyscent after using the decant and I love it).
Yay for the fall fragrances video! I’m dying for it to be cool enough for Gris Charnel, coco noir, and memo Sherwood!
eyes closed by byredo is very cinnamon based, its very warming and spicy; its supposed to replicate the warmth of breath as you lean in to kiss someone, its encompassing but still gentle, if you're into cinnamon in fragrance its a must try

My fall vibe today: TF Cherry Smoke layered with Zara TOB/03, which has dried fruits, cinnamon, benzoin, musk ... they blend really nice.
LOVE Blue Madeleine. But Dear Polly is also one of my favourites and also has a "cigarette smoke" dry down, so I think that may just be something I'm attracted to.
Have you ever tried Jasmin et Cigarette by ELDO? If you like a smoky note it may be up your alley!

Lauren Mae has compared Angel's Share to that gooey filling that the apples go in for an apple pie. I agree!
Peaches revenge the initial note is yuk but after it sits for 10-15mins it turns into this beautiful scent!! Let it sit for a while!

Excellent analysis of peach scent - I know understand why I hate all peach fragrances despite it being my favorite fruit and one of my IRL fave smells 😭
I think the reason why you’re smelling halls is from that amaretto which tends to smell like cherry, hence the cherry halls cough syrup and that mixed with the fruits gives it a sourness
I think cinnamon is hard to pull off and capture the feeling of a dessert. I notice this in baking a lot where what I THINK is a delicious cinnamon smell is really cinnamon, brown sugar, butter, nutmeg, and whatever else I’m mixing together to get like a full picture of what I might think of exclusively as cinnamon in my head
THANK YOU about blue madeline!! it is sooo smokey. Definitely not bad but the marketing is so misleading for something that they literally named after a cookie and used pastels to just give such a smoke forward scent was wild to me. In love with the bottle tho
Interesting reviews! My favourite cinnamon perfume is Une Nuit Nomade Sugar Leather (should be called Cinnamon Sugar imo!) I was also disappointed in the Peach's Revenge, I liked the juicy peach opening and I did get the caramel and amaretto but I found they didn't last on me at all? (Plus the peach is somewhat artificial/cough syrupy to me as well, maybe it's a Canadian thing? Lol) My fav perfumes with peach are MDCI Peché Cardinal & Killian Liaisons Dangerous (though neither are gourmands) I think for gourmand peaches I'm going to stick with cheaper indie houses since the note is so hard to make natural and realistic anyway, like Haus of Gloi Pumpkin Queen & Peach Rings, and the Canadian house Pulp Fragrances gourmand Embrace (pumpkin shortbread with butter, apricot preserves, & brown sugar). She also has a cozy sounding tea series called "Steeped in Slaughter: Tea & Cozy Mysteries" that I want to try! I found Blue Madeleine on the tannic side for my tastes as well, so not really creamy enough for me. Have you tried Solstice Scents? I think you might really enjoy the Fall Collection! (should be releasing soon) Their gourmands are excellent, esp. Owl Creek Aleworks (this is sweet and malty, not like beer at all!), Corvin's Apple Fest, Blackburn Parlour (banana split!) & Halloween Night (black jelly beans), but they have many others! (PSA: just beware you will probably be hit with duties in Canada, I was unfortunately, but still worth it imo!)

i LOVE the sample i tried of peach’s revenge but it’s not in my budget to get right now - hopefully soon. your research about aldehydes, lactones, and ketones was interesting though!
Eyes Closed from Byredo smells so much like cinnamon. And I think because of that it’s leaning masculine but I love it. 🥰

My fave cinnamon scent is Eyes Closed by Byredo!! I feel like that actually gives cinnamon
I’ve never smelt the original, I only have the oil perfumery impression of it and to me it smells exactly like an unsweetened carrot cake!
mirage gourmande to me smells like a lot of cake when you first put it on, but in my opinion after it settles in and dries down a bit, it turns into such a nice vanilla! i think it's just getting over that initial overwhelming cake scent XD
Finally starting to see Pierre Guillaume mentioned by non-European fragrance folk online ❤ would love to hear what you think of Tonka Bodykon. He is a master. Phaedon is his work too ❤

If you're getting into cinnamon fragrances, try Jo Malone's new Hinoki and Cedarwood launch. It's a really fresh, aromatic cinnamon it's so unique.
I also felt Angels Share smelled like apple pie when I first smelled it. It’s so yummy!
I need to get into sampling more but I bought the rise and shine based on your review and I’m excited 😆

So, who blind bought a full bottle of Blue Madeline? Meeee🙋🏻♀️. Like you, I found the smoke to be overwhelming at first. However, it's been 3 months, and I don't get smoke now, but instead a whole lotta black tea. Which is a marked improvement, but still not quite what I was expecting. It's a nice milky tea, but no madeline. 😢
You should try snow moon magic by Sorce Perfumes! it's a warm cinnamon fragrance & it has a chai note!
Angels’ Share was my wedding perfume. I got married in January. Simply amazing!

Yeah I get apple associations with some cinnamon notes too, especially in Angels' Share, but I'm sure they don't always list all the notes. Lol because the apple pie vibes are very obvious to me. More like deep caramelized apples with cinnamon so the fruit is not bright and dominant as to blend in discreetly with everything else. Like when food is cooked together as opposed to individual ingredients.
I smelled angels share a few days ago and I also smelled apple! I sprayed it on my sweatshirt and then went home and my room still smells like it even 3 days later it’s beautiful

I found it so strange, I couldn’t put my finger as to what it actually smelled like but it was honestly not good… shame, I loved the bottle and really wanted to buy jt x

I wonder if old fashioned is doing what peat does in scotch- peaty scotch comes off as super smokey when its just really strong herbaceous wheaty and earthy notes that give off smoke all combined

I feel the same way about happy dust, waiting till spring to pull the trigger, but getting an inspired by to hold me over. Right now I can’t stop thinking about Angels Share and will def be a purchase for fall/winter. Khamrah Qahwah is good, but doesn’t exactly satisfy what angels share does for me.

I just bought angel share and 15 minutes out of the store I got a compliment! I love it. I did try the brandy one and although it outlasted angel share, I don’t care for it!
Out of all of my samples I have, Pierre Guillaume I own the most full bottles of! I just got a sample of Tonka Bodycon and its lovely! I need to try the one you have.

would really like to see you review something by the Brazilian brand Granado one day. my winter fragrance for the year was Fervo Intenso, made by the same perfumist that created Angel's Share. it uses Brazilian cachaça instead of cognac and although I'm not a big fan of too sweet and intense fragrances (mostly cause I just don't get a lot of opportunities to wear them here because of the weather), I loved it. I know Granado has a store in NYC and a US website but I'm not certain if they ship to Canada :(
What's the general distinction between fall and winter scents? I think the scent I've reached for the most since it started cooling off (I also live in Canada) is probably Jany by Sore Dora. However, I have a disgusting amount of samples coming that I'm so excited to try. I'm really on the hunt for a signature scent.
When you said you blind bought Peach’s Revenge, I was like “Ooo gurl… 😬😬” and was waiting for that reaction… I also got the same medicinal syrupy impression, unfortunately.

I bought a sample of blue madeline thinking that it would similar to what you expected and while I don't get cigarettes on the dry down I did feel really let down by it! I was hoping for a sweeter more gourmand leaning scent, thankfully I still like it but I won't be reaching for it super often,
On the other hand I also picked up a sample of their Lune Feline scent and have been OBSESSED!!! It's so lovely! Definitely what I'm going to be wearing this fall

Btw I bought a 10 mL decant of Bianco Latte from a perfume store. I had tried it maybe twice in store and thought it smelled really good, but now every time I try it there’s this weird strong chemical burnt tire smell that takes a while to evaporate and it’s really unpleasant! I’m so sad 😞
Btw Clean Reserve Sueded Oud, Ellis Brooklyn Après and Liis Bo are cruelty free and vegan if someone in the comments is wondering :)
Have you ever heard of the house bortnikoff? Maybe not your taste but triad and musk khabib are soooo good especially for the fall, very rare that you can tell a fragrance is high quality by the smell

Have you tried Xerjoff Starlight? It is cinnamon and cardamom. It’s so yummy and lasts forever.
You got me started on such a perfume journey from your London Fog layering video, now I'm building my own little collection and apply twice a day lol. I got a scent from a new brand from South Korea called Villa Erbatium that makes my eyes roll back, it's so delicious and boozy and syrupy and warm and fruity, called Fig Whiskey. Would love for you to check out the brand (gorgeous bottles btw).

22:17 recently got Afternoon Delight, part of Maison Margiela’s REPLICA- SO good. Actually smells vanilla-y with a hint of vanilla extract? I’m loving combining it with Coffee Break, smells like a fall rainy day at a coffee shop.
Got samples of blue madeleine along and Lost Alice. Bought a full bottle of Lost Alice. Could hardly stand blue madeleine-kind of sickening and no depth, very linear except the smoky note was more pronounced with time. Not a fan! Love love love Like This and it layers great w/ Lost Alice!!

Finally someone who had the Same expirience with blue Madeleine as me! I had such high hopes because i was expecting a Gourmand tea fragrance and all the influencers described it as a Micky Sweet tea and than it just smelled like smoke🥹
i was really disappointed by peach's revenge as well, it was sickly like really synthetic peach candy, not like peaches or desserts at all

100% agree with Blue Madeleine. I wanted to love it, but it was one of the worst perfumes I have smelled in a while. The bottle, the visuals and the description simply does not match the product. I was expecting a mature, sophisticated gourmand and I got something bizarre. What a shame. And yes AS Kilian smells just like an apple cinnamon pie . Great video xx

I dont know what happens to me but cinnamon isn't my go-to essence when it comes to perfumes. It often makes me gag, so as much as i love the fall vibe is a no no for me
I also didn’t like peaches revenge the first two times I tried it. I needed to try it full body and only smell that perfume that day. I actually like it now and looking to get a bigger decant. I loved “Love me Latte” and now want to try happy dust.
