Oh my gosh the “Best Friend’s House” description! Tache de Café is like hugging my grandma, but I can’t tell my husband that about his signature scent, it doesn’t smell LIKE Gran! but it smells like how it feels to be hugged by someone safe and good, the Best Friend’s House effect, and it suits him so perfectly

Hey Emma, I blind bought Liis choux choux and when I first sprayed it I was a little disappointed, it came off as a really stingy lime coconut scent. For some reason the opening reminded me a little of skylar lime sands. Not what I was expecting at all considering the notes listed for choux choux. But I thought "oh well, I'll still wear it because I paid enough for it" but then something magical happened after wearing it for a couple days it morphed into this very airy but cozy gourmand. The deep drydown is amazing, at least for me. Now I can't get enough of it and it is a compliment getter.
The first like ten or twelve sprays sometimes are the juice that's been sitting in the tube for a good while... I never trust the first try when fresh out of the box

I also found a new joy in life, ordering perfume samples is becoming my monthly guilty pleasure haha (less expensive than blind buying and funnier because I can try many many niche perfumes) 🥰🤍 Love from France !
Emma, all these l'eau papier/glossier you type of smells remind me of the old KENZO Amour, except for the Amour being so so so much better... KENZO AMOUR EAU DE PARFUM A sensual musky woody floral fragrance, inspired by the sensations of a journey of love. Cherry and Frangipani blossoms, woods, incense from here, Thanaka wood from elsewhere, Rice, White Tea and a touch of Vanilla. Created by Daphné Bugey and Olivier Cresp.
I love watching all of your hauls because you say whether you like it or not but then you really get into the fine details. You stress getting a sample first. You are cautious about hyping a fragrance. You are really thoughtful of your viewers. Though I do appreciate beast mode fragrances and bonkers longevity is a plus to me if I enjoy the scent. I put loud perfumes in a roller ball to quiet them down and be precise in my application. Here's a talking point that might be controversial, if your fragrance can be smelled from a mile away what about the consent of other people? Consent is so important in whether or not someone wants to be touched but if I'm smelling your fragrance in another aisle it's touching me. Yes, it's just air but it's invasive, right? It's silent screaming. Sure, I can leave the area most times but if someone touches you without asking and runs away that's not okay. This just came to me as I was writing this comment.
Oh, I just wear beast-mode perfumes straight up. They make me happy so I don't care. There are a lot of people that wear perfumes that are yucky to me and I don't say anything. So, no. Perfume and makeup are personal. The only exception is if you wear it when someone is allergic or in a medical setting where you are not supposed to wear anything with fragrance, not even deodorant nor antiperspirant. Then I am respectful.
I think that you cannot compare a perfume wafting into the aisle you are in to a stranger touching you. There is absolutely not comparison there. People pass gas and that gets picked up by air and circulated in a store so you will smell it even though it wasn't you. But while that is inconvenient and even repulsive and you might question their manners that cannot be compared to someone physically laying a hand on you. What do you say to chemical companies that release chemicals [that are more often than not harmful] into the air? You can't sue them for "touching you" with the cmpds. released in air but you can go after them if there are significant health adverse effects. Perfume doesn't pose (for most people who do not have respiratory system problems and who are exposed very briefly) such detrimental adverse effects. Hope you understand my argument.
Fellow leftie here and things like that drive me nuts its the assumption everyone is right handed that irks me. I take fragrantica with a giant pinch of salt for that very reason given how sometimes people are just not accurate. This was so fun to watch.
nice to see more Canadian fragrance reviewers, I do a lot of blind buying, of my 120 bottles 106 were blind buys, and I haven't bought one that I hate, there are like 3 that are good but not as good as I thought they would be and there are about 10 that FAR EXCEEDED my expectations and I have 5 more blind buys in the mail from Fragrancebuy ( I love that site ) I just found your channel a few days ago and I like it, its not like other female fragrance reviewers, its refreshing.

Ah! Scentrique! I've been to that store and they have so many scents I've been wanting to try. They were fresh out of Lyra (Lira? sp?) when I visited but otherwise was so happy to have found them!❤
I love Story of Your Life but I agree that it's a bit messy at first. I've had my bottle for a month and I actually think it matured and got better. As to d'Orsay, you really need to try Sur tes lèvres ❤ It's so simple yet beautiful.
I received a free sample of Story of Your Life. The smell made me really uncomfortable. It disturbed me and took me straight back to my childhood. It was a very small sample, thankfully. I threw it in the trash. Strange how a fragrance can really bring out some (negative) visceral reactions.
Fragrantica also says God Bless Cola from versatile has BUTTER and peanut… I came to find out it’s actually a *peanut butter* note, which makes so much more sense!! When I realized that, I was like “YES!! That’s IT!”
I'm SOOO HAPPY I found your channel!! I'm binging a lot of your videos rn. I am finding we have a good amount of similar tastes, but even if I didn't I enjoy how you describe them. Blind buying perfumes is not my preference but I have a lot of anxiety shopping and some health issues. Soooo, on that note THANK YOU❤ and btw thanks for honest and even the little weird quirky things about fragrances.
I love your honest take on fragrances. It's so appreciated, and why I continue to click every video you post, even if I'm not interested in the fragrances. Correction: now I'm buying velvet infusion. D&G need to hook you up.😂
I shouldn't be surprised, but always am by how fragrance can smell so different on everyone. Glossier You stays on me and my clothes for ages, and Doux definitely lasted longer than Reve because I desperately tried to get it off my skin and it would. not. budge. Doux I expected to love and somehow smelled unwashed and pickley on me, confirmed by my partner. By the Fireplace is the only other demi-gourmand I like and own fullsize, so Reve seems to be a gourmand for people who dont normally like gourmands. I do find Reve lasts all day when layered with the You solid.
The one fragrance TH-camr I actually believe and continue to watch. You are not on here to SELL me something with a code. You’re not on here HYPING every single fragrance that gets sent to you for free. You’re not on here telling us that “We just got to have it!” And man I appreciate that sooo much ❤ You actually study perfume. You’re not on here just smelling, you’re tellin and I love that! I bought Reve and returned it. Lasts maybe an hour. Not worth it at all.
You Doux smells like the lobby of a spa or like…the incense sticks in a high-end store’s bathroom to me. Love the scent but I feel like it’s better suited as a room spray if that makes any sense lol
i smelled rêve in sephora and barely smelled the gourmand at first!! i sprayed it on my skin and wore it for the next 8 hours (i can still smell it) and it smells incredible on the skin even though i really did not like it on the paper, as i expected it to because it’s a second skin scent. my brothers girlfriend smelled so strongly of something incredible and i found out it was the glossier rêve, and it smelled the same on me thankfully. i think the second skin thing is very prevalent because it seems like it even lasted longer on me and her.
Could you make a video on sad/depressing perfumes? I know it may sound a bit strange though. I've seen someone saying Black Orchid may be way too sad and depressing and that made me wonder whether it's true that some scents may have this feeling to it. On the contrary, are there perfumes that are kind of "euphoric"? It's really exciting that scents can have a feeling attached to them.
Not me getting a bottle of Black Orchid as my Xmas present 💀 I never heard that association, but makes sense I guess. It is very moody and mysterious which is what I love about it
Saying “doux” smells like your best friend’s house really resonated with me. I remember the first time I smelled JHAG “not a perfume”. A woman in my trivia group wore it to every trivia night. Eventually I had to ask what she was wearing because it smelled identical to my best friends house in middle school
Love this video I have the same feeling about Reve and the name lol! But for me I'm the opposite of Glossier you and doux.. You works well with me (the slight pencil shavings vibe I think comes from the pink pepper rather than ambroxan, sonic flower has a similar vibe) but doux just completely clashes with me and doesn't like me at all and I could smell it the entire day on my skin having this sort of B.O vibe. So interesting how different people have different experiences
I love wearing Crushed Fruits. Regime des fleurs are definitely a favourite for me. I ordered a few samples of the Bottega Veneta fragrances. They look amazing and love a handblown bottle: beautiful 💚
I have the same "butter-orris" issue with fragrantica 🤣 so annoying!!! It happened before with some other perfume, I wrote about it on the forum (topic: Absences, Corrections of Notes) and they've corrected the notes. I just let them know about these two Bottega scents 😉👍
This is off topic but I’ve had a bottle of Goutal Hadrian’s Wall that I’ve had forever. Ok, maybe 15 years. I don’t wear it often (almost never) 3:29 but it still smells the same to me. We’ve moved to Europe and back twice, with cargo ships carrying our stuff. Could this be possible or has it changed and I’ve not picked up on it. It’s always been kept from light and heat. Except for the sea- going cargo ships. Can perfumes be kept longer than we think? And thank you for all your work. Your approach is rational and measured. Then you give us your personal preferences. I’m sure that all of your training and lab classes led to your adopting a scientific approach to perfumery.
Had so much fun watching this! I loveeeee the bottega bottles and need to get my nose on the discovery set asap. As an original Glossier You lover I was pretty dissapointed in the new ones. Reve had a weird stank and Doux was a bit basic to me. I'd still like to get ahold of some samples and test outside the store to give them a fair shot though.
OH MY GOD I am so happy that you called out Glossier on their right-handed bottles, haha, I absolutely love the original You but I always notice this when I hold the bottle ;) Really curious to try out the new ones, but I find them too expensive to blind buy :'(
I already wanted to get my nose on the Bottega fragrances... now I am DESPERATE to smell them! Your reactions have made them even more intriguing, anyone know where in the UK I can try them?!
Hi! I’m really inspired by your journey at ISIPCA. Could you share how you got into the program? Did you study chemistry or a related field before applying? It would be amazing if you could make a video about your experience and give some tips for aspiring students. Thanks!
I would love to hear your thoughts on Juliette Has a Gun. Especially the not a perfume (original and super dose). Unless I’ve missed it in your previous videos ?
Will you please please please do a video on clean fresh scents? Im talking like specifically ones that smell like sexy laundry detergent 😂 I can’t seem to find the ONE !! Love & trust your opinions so much!! Xoxo
Came here because of the Bottega bottle in the thumbnail, was watching Hannah Louise Poston recently and she was kind of roasting the bottle design 💀 I had to hear how the scent itself is
Hi, i read somewhere that spraying perfume on the back of your neck is bad because the back of the neck produces sebum which can alter the scent. Is this true? Also in the winter, where on your clothing do you spray? The sleeves, the torso, or do you just spray and walk through?
The comment "the top reminded me of cork....because it is....." just made me laugh so hard! And your expression! Thanks for a full on belly laugh to start my day! 🤣😂😉
I want to try perfumes, but I often don't know if I even want to spend the money on the samples. Are there any places that give free samples easily? I don't want to sell my soul to ads or junk mail to get free samples either.
hey, what are your thoughts and opinions for victoria's secret body mists ? i really wanna buy one but i'm not so sure. my last experience was good though!
I love these videos 😻 I ended up liking Glossier Reve more than I thought I would because I don’t typically like gourmands and I felt like the Glossier Doux goes beast mode on me. Like I will smell Doux on myself when I go to bed after wearing it all day from the morning. So crazy that it doesn’t last long on you! I really disliked the merit one, it felt very outdated like an 80’s fragrance, but I’m happy other people are liking it 😁 Thanks for these videos! 🫶

I love wearing Crushed Fruits. Regime des fleurs are definitely a favourite for me. I ordered a few samples of the Bottega Veneta fragrances. They look amazing and love a handblown bottle: beautiful 💚
Crushed Fruits is absolutely beautiful. Choux choux is very pretty.
please make a follow up of bottega fragrances they are so intriguing and am thinking of getting on for my mom's bday since she likes their perfumes.
Can you review some Mancera and Monatale fragrances?
I have the same "butter-orris" issue with fragrantica 🤣 so annoying!!! It happened before with some other perfume, I wrote about it on the forum (topic: Absences, Corrections of Notes) and they've corrected the notes. I just let them know about these two Bottega scents 😉👍
Longer videos, please! This is amaaaaaaaaazing! ❤️
Any perfume that is described as cheeky is a must!
i looked up the price of the bottega perfumes and nearly collapsed hahaha
So glad to be here early, excited for this next part of the series!
I love a long video! ♥
Omg you’re the only person I’ve seen drag Fragrantica’s accuracy. They’re SO WRONG, SO OFTEN.
OH MY GOD I am so happy that you called out Glossier on their right-handed bottles, haha, I absolutely love the original You but I always notice this when I hold the bottle ;) Really curious to try out the new ones, but I find them too expensive to blind buy :'(
Sickeningly white 😂. Oh honey you don’t know. I glow in the dark. Thank you for this video ❤
Love your videos and recommendations! To me, Glossier Doux kinda smells like Dedcool Xtra Milk
I already wanted to get my nose on the Bottega fragrances... now I am DESPERATE to smell them! Your reactions have made them even more intriguing, anyone know where in the UK I can try them?!
i’ve been layering you doux and vanilla 28 and it is everything!!! pls try it
Hi! I’m really inspired by your journey at ISIPCA. Could you share how you got into the program? Did you study chemistry or a related field before applying? It would be amazing if you could make a video about your experience and give some tips for aspiring students. Thanks!
“an actor in a forrest…sailing a ship” 👌
Hi, for palatine, on me it doesn't stay, just 15 min and after 15 min, I don't smell it anymore 😢, a big big deception for me 😮
Wow your friend is really lucky to get nice perfumes as a gift❤❤
Btw I'm a perfume enthusiast & m glad to find you!!
you should try Granado, a Brazilian house and it's so good, I am using the Bossa and I'm curious about your opinion in their fragrances!!
I would love to hear your thoughts on Juliette Has a Gun. Especially the not a perfume (original and super dose). Unless I’ve missed it in your previous videos ?
girl can you pls do like a "mysterious, dark, seductive" perfume list? i'm begging you🥺
Will you please please please do a video on clean fresh scents? Im talking like specifically ones that smell like sexy laundry detergent 😂 I can’t seem to find the ONE !! Love & trust your opinions so much!! Xoxo
i love the vlog style!!
Came here because of the Bottega bottle in the thumbnail, was watching Hannah Louise Poston recently and she was kind of roasting the bottle design 💀 I had to hear how the scent itself is
I love the description of “best friend’s house”. I got that vibe from Ylop from Sora Dora. Have you smelled it?
Hi Emma! I just got a sample size of black opium over red, and I really love it, I was curious to know what your opinion is on it?
Would love to hear your thoughts on Marissa Zappas’s perfumes
Oh i love this channel. it's just that good. love it
Hi, i read somewhere that spraying perfume on the back of your neck is bad because the back of the neck produces sebum which can alter the scent. Is this true? Also in the winter, where on your clothing do you spray? The sleeves, the torso, or do you just spray and walk through?
Tonka hysteria sounds so good
The comment "the top reminded me of cork....because it is....." just made me laugh so hard! And your expression! Thanks for a full on belly laugh to start my day! 🤣😂😉
🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
Love this video and you!!!!
I love these videos 😻
I ended up liking Glossier Reve more than I thought I would because I don’t typically like gourmands and I felt like the Glossier Doux goes beast mode on me. Like I will smell Doux on myself when I go to bed after wearing it all day from the morning. So crazy that it doesn’t last long on you!
I really disliked the merit one, it felt very outdated like an 80’s fragrance, but I’m happy other people are liking it 😁
Thanks for these videos! 🫶
This long video was ❤❤❤ chefs kiss
Ugh I had the exact same experience with Palentine. It ended up giving me a headache and I couldn’t ESCAPE IT.
I needed this video after the recent election 😢😢😢 thanks ❤
Hi Emma, do you have Lanvin in your collection? What's your take on Lanvin Modern Princess edt and edp?
Hi! Thank you for this video. Can you share where you studied perfumery in France?
Love plum note!
Can you pls do reviews of classic fragrances? Now I want to know about Jicky!
