You keep saying a lot of snow, but for some of us..me..lol..I’ve always thought it snowed almost non stop in AK in the winter. Of course, until my neighbors who live 6 months here and 6 in AK showed me pictures, I thought you all lived in little villages…almost like igloos, but not quit that extreme. They and your channel has been a real education for me. 🦋

Banned bird feeders are area specific, not banned in all of Alaska during the summers. Anchorage/Eagle River have a lot more trouble with drawing in bears.

It is snowing like crazy in Minnesota right now too. We have snowblowed 3 times today and it is still snowing.
You have snow days we have hurricane days tell your husband I love mini moon pie. They are the best they’re not stale, like the triple stack and it brought back so many memories to me when he picked them up
We are supposed to get a blizzard tomorrow and Friday. Not a ton of accumulation... maybe 6 inches. But 50mph winds and -30° windchill! We are going to hunker down!

Hi Lauren I love ur videos ❤ but I love how happy u are with the kettles as Irish woman I find nuts that lots of American don't have a kettle 😂😂 I can guarantee there's not a house in Ireland that doesn't have at least 1 or 2 and the posh teapot for guests 😂😂 no matter what the problem is in Ireland big or small happy sad or indifferent if ur sick or leg hanging off ur giving tea 😂😂
I'm a new subscriber and I was watching an older podcast where you bought butternut squash soup at Costco. Try this instead: Saute a large onion and some garlic in a bit of oil. Add a peeled and diced butternut squash cut into two inch cubes. Also add about 3-4 carrots cut into 1 inch cubes and two or three peeled and cubed sweet potatoes. Cover with chicken stock with about an extra 2 inches. Season with bay leaf, ginger (dried is fine), salt, pepper and nutmeg. Bring to boil, reduce head and simmer until veggies are very soft. Use immersion blender to bring to a smooth "creamed" consistency. If the kiddos like, I always add a good teaspoon of curry powder at the end. There is no dairy in my version, but you would think it's loaded with cream. It's warm and filling and with some great bread or rolls, it's a great meal. This soup also freezes really well, so I also make a big pot. P.S. I'm binge watching!

My grandpa took the banana moon pie to work every day. We called then grandpa cookies.

Do your school buses use chains on their buses? Expecting blustery conditions, here in Va. under a weather advisory from 7pm tonight - 1pm tomorrow, rain, mix, snow, ice, winds gusting up to 50mph, temps dropping, lows in 20 or less into the beginning of the week. I enjoyed seeing everyone. Loved going to the airport, & seeing your favorite Mexican restaurant. Got tickled seeing the boys jump off the banister,. Our brave 'lil fella nearly swallowed up in the snow when he landed. That's a lot of snow. I couldn't shovel all that myself now. I don't envy you. Beautiful seeing the moon over the snow capped pines. Loved seeing that. 💕

Thank you for fillming Snowpocalypse. What an experience. The amount of shovelling is unbelievble and I know how tired one gets when doing this. Kudos to all of you for all you're doing to stay on top of all the things and finding time for fun.
You are so calm with the boys jumping off the deck. Lol. Moms with boys just know how to do it. My sister has 3 boys and it's very much like that. I have a boy and a girl and it's just a little different.
The fair life shakes are definitely good and i prefer them over muscle milk. I think they are one of the healthier protein shakes out there.
Snow, snow everywhere! Here in Minnesota too. I appreciate Mark's knowledge and that he is willing to share. I never thought a moose could be in danger from the snow. I remember doing the happy dance when I was in school. Those cot beds are awesome. Enjoy your Christmas week!

I was SO happy to come on TH-cam and see that you had done a new video. I just cannot believe how much snow you have. In my whole lifetime I'll never see that much snow. I'm in the UK. We did think we would maybe get a little snow shower for Christmas but it doesn't forecast that now. Love your videos. I also enjoy learning more about Alaska from you and Mark. I've learnt SO much since finding your channel. Hopefully the boys will be back at school soon so they can make up the time they've missed. I look forward to updates. I remember back in the late 1990s we had a six foot snow pack in our yard. We had to cut openings so we could see out our windows. The snow sliding off our roof had no where to go anymore so it was curled like archways around the house. Our dogs would run up the curls and play on the roof of all our buildings. All you could do was laugh and hunker down inside. Cheers. 🇨🇦❄️🇨🇦
I worked at the moosehead hair lodge in north branch mi. We had a big moose head in the front. We would put cute hats on her and big ear rings on her. We all loved her so much. ❤❤❤

Merry Christmas, love your family videos. I live in Quesnel in Central British Columbia and we are not getting snow but having minus 40 celsius all week and lots of frozen vehicles and water. Our gas is around $7 a gallon still. But we are warming up for the weekend and looking forward to having Christmas dinner with the family. Have a wonderful season.

I'm from Pipe Creek Texas about 20 miles outside of San Antonio and I agree with Susan we are going to have some nice cold weather at least down to 17° I believe. But no snow. today at 60 degrees right now out where I live. Texas is not used to snow
Hi Alaska, like how y’all work together. When l was in my teens my job was clearing the end of our family’s driveway. My sister too but mostly me. Then when Dad came home he could get in the driveway. Didn’t make any difference that l was a girl still had driveway job. While you guys are getting dumped on, it's the deep freeze up here in the Fairbanks area. Minus 40's for the past week or so. Supposed to warm up but not get above zero until after New Year's. I'd rather have the snow. Need to run errands, etc, but I'm not going anywhere while it's this cold. Happy Christmas, Merry New Year.

my very 1st Christmas in Sitka I remember sitting alone in my living room super sad I was without family. All of a sudden the curtains lit up in pink & green . I stepped outside & witnessed the Aurora!! The most perfect amazing thing I've ever witnessed!! I absolutely love Alaska especially during winter!! ☃️❄️🙏😊❤️❤️❤️ It is heaven on earth!!!!

I grew up in Vt. on the Canadian border. Walking to school one day, I got thrown into a snowbank by the wind. We always joked about Vt.'s two seasons....snow and mud. I've lived in San Diego now for 50 years and it's going to be 80 on Christmas Day. While it's easier on these old bones, I always miss a snowy Christmas. My sons school no longer does snow days, if its to bad to go to school they just do the work at home. Teachers will put the homework online and sometimes they will do zoom class-room for a few hours. It does not take up the whole day, so the kids still can have fun.
I think this is where we should be at after Covid. They need a better plan!! I will be writing in to the school board.

We have been having the same weather here in ND. Ever since Covid and distance learning, the school district where I live decided there is no such thing as snow days anymore. They have virtual learning days where the kids have class on Zoom. As a parent I love that they won't be extending the school year but it is very hard to get my kindergartener to sit down and participate. Thank you so much for all you do. I live in a 3 story log home and I have a moose head hanging over my fireplace. He’s beautiful! My nephew from Maine gave us the head to mount about 8 yrs ago. Looks beautiful in here. 👍🏻💓

Fairlife is great milk! There's a young man recently his dad got stationed down here in Missouri at Whiteman AFB. They came from Alaska and he said he missed the snow! We're supposed to get some the next few days.Lol my kids used to shovel all the snowing a huge pile and jump off our deck into it! Mercy,this spring it will fill the river beds! I live in North Carolina. In our district if they are calling for a lot of snow they send their school computer home with them. They post all class work so the students don't get behind.

Our second wave hits tonite. They said on the news we will be colder than anchorage the next couple days. This cold front is swooping down from Alaska. So we’re getting your storm next. We’re getting snow, but not as much as you all, but I guess as this moves east they will get a lot more snow.

Our school has 1-2 snow days planned. If unused, they’re added to spring break. If used, then every day that gets added is taken from spring break or other off days. My spring break was shortened only twice in my high school years. Other years we had a couple of 1 day offs for various occasions so they canceled.
