    hello, then one quick question; how can i export contacts that are not releated to any account?

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Umay. You'll need to create a new Report Type to see all contacts that don't have an account. The primary object for that report type will be contacts. No need to add anything else.Then filter that report type by Account Name equals "" or blank.

    Should a firm allow exports of contacts?

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. There is always a risk that an employee will export customer data and use it inappropriately. Of course, there are also many legitimate reasons to export customer information from Salesforce. Most often, this is to use the data for marketing purposes or to clean it and update it with data services.
      You can make it harder for someone to export customer data by removing the permission to export reports or by limiting what customer data they can see in the system.

      Brian, is it possible within Salesforce to lock & prevent export of certain objects? If not, is it possible using Apex?

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RaviRJoshi The only way to limit this is to limit access. If a user can "read" the object, they won't be able to export the data. When it comes to exporting reports, it's a global permission. You can't be so granular to limit exports of a certain type of report.

    Yeah, but I have more than 2,000 contacts. Now what?

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Chris, You can go to the Setup are in Salesforce then Data > Data Export. From there you should be able to get a full export of the Contacts table. You'll probably have more data than you need, but it's better than missing some.
