I drive a 2015 RCF every day and I can’t imagine myself ever getting rid of it. Threw a catback on it and that’s all it needs. Wakes up that V8 and sounds incredible. If you want to go further, headers and a good tune will put it well over 400 to the wheels. What most people don’t know is that you can get 30+mpg if you drive in eco while you commute on the highway.
I got a 2015 rc f in Dec as a second to my 2008 ls 460 I lovem both totally different cars the f is my fav car ever I try not to rack up miles but she is stunningly gorgeous and I’ll never part with her worth every penny
I’m so happy they are still making the RCF. Such a pretty yet aggressive sports coupe
I love the RC F, but man that interior needs an update. However, if you don’t care much for the interior, you can find a used RC F in the high 30ks and low 40ks. Killer deal.

Lexus is reliable and good at making hybrids, but they can't build light-weighted, performance car. RC and IS are way heavier than German counterparts.

It's unfortunate that Lexus is slow to get infotainment up to par because they do everything else so damn well! Despite the infotainment woes, Lexus is my favorite brand. Second to none in overall design and quality.
The ES and LS infotainment is fine tbh but the IS and rcf is not idk why

Nice video. I am a GM and German guy. I own a 2011 CTS-V, and 2013 Audi S5 convertible, have owned a 1989 Corvette Z51, 1991 corvette ZR-1, and a 2001 Audi S8. With all that bragging said that Lexus is a Japanese car I could get with. I like it!

I just got one of these and let me tell you. The v8 overall is such a better engine than these v6 turbo. It is silky smooth. Fast enough. And way more reliable. The induction sound cannot be replaced. I got the 2020 because this might be the final year or two for these v8. Once these v8 goes out. These resale will sky rocket. If you been wanting yours get it now while you can!
i been investing crypto currency and i think by this month im going to be able to afford it, did you get yours from the dealership or did you have to order it. and if so how long was the process/wait??

I gave it some thought. Wanted a M4 but after dealing with this 335i I'm not going to get another Bimmer. Going to get a RC-F. Loved my ISF but I need the CoupeLife. Super beautiful and fast. Unless I find a nice Nismo for a better price.

LC500 is bigger and weighs over 400 lbs more than the RCF so it is apples to oranges with RCF. My RCF is a 2016 and it has a carbon fiber performance package with all of the carbon fiber (and TVD) that RCF has. The TVD in my 2016 also makes the front end super sharp in slalom. Only the lip spoiler is new. The Sport 4S tires are the biggest improvement as they are stiffer and more grippier than the Super Sport I had. Rest is nothing new as it had been there since 2015. The paddles are not plastic. They are lightweight magnesium paddles.
I know the TVD has been around a while, I praised it years ago in my original GSF review. The engine enhancements and lighter weight are new for 2020 though. Do you have a link showing the paddles are magnesium? They feel like plastic to me, like in all the other F-Sport models and don't feel anything like the magnesium paddles in the GT-R and G37 Coupe.
@@MattMaranMotoring Great review overall. I enjoy my RCF carbon/TVD immensely after almost 3 years of ownership. I put a full exhaust on it and it sounds 10x better and makes significantly more power. In my RCF brochure, it says magnesium. I drove the LC500 as well, which has almost very similar paddle shifters as my RCF. You can check lexus.com and they state it is magnesium in the specifications. The ISF also used to have magnesium paddles (as per Lexus claim). That is what Lexus claims they have always been on F cars (and LC500). I think the tires having stiffer sidewalls and better traction are the biggest factor on the standard RCF. The OEM Michelin Pilot Super Sport were terrible on my RCF. Good traction, but much softer in slower turns than my current Pilot Sport 4S (with extra load sidewalls).

@@MattMaranMotoring Yeah, agree. Your review is one of the most fair and the best review on the RCF. The stock exhaust is extremely tame. You really wake it up with a good aftermarket exhaust. Being a high-revving engine (7300 rpm redline and 7450 rpm cut off), it really screams with a great exhaust.
@@MattMaranMotoring Also, while you have the RCF, spend your maximum time in sport+ with manual mode downshifting at every turn once it is properly warmed up. Forget the auto mode and anything below sport+. Also keep it in slalom mode for city driving.

Hahaha! Seriously that’s so ridiculous! They pigeonholed themselves by saying it had to be an in-line 6, but the GTR used to be i6 before the r35 and they went ahead and made a dope as twin turbo v6 in house. Fuck, even Lotus used the 2gr-fe Camry 3.5 V6 for their Evora line and threw a supercharger on that and that cranks out 400hp. So c’mon Toyota!
@@GhostNinjaTactical Toyota used to work with lotus in the past so there just paying them back in respect by giving them their V6. Toyota literally don't know how to make a tunable engine especially i6 since none of the Lexus enthusiasts rarely ever touch there V8s or V6s worth anything nor do they ever try to push their platforms. So they went to BMW since they know how to make a decent chassis and i6 already.
@@GhostNinjaTactical also that V6 is open deck. The B58 is closed deck so it has a better advantage with power any way.

Very nice car and the v8 is Def making it a future classic. Yes the new supra is faster by alot but, the sound and feel of an na motor is what you pay for in this car! Glad to see they still make it. Also if you don't wanna spend a ton of money these are going for mid 30s with under 50k miles on them by me which is a great deal for what you get

Just picked up my 2016 rcf its a blast the new design is nice headlights are amazing but the tailights look better on the previous model
@@davidwade7681 I’ve had my 2017 RCF for nearly 2 months now. Got her in Nov 2020 I’m still trying to adjust ha. I’m coming from a 2014 IS250. The power difference is night and day. Love the RC-F. I could careless about the infotainment I just wanted the dang engine.

I agree, the cosmetic differences between the 2020 model and our years isn’t that big of a deal. We both did good man 👍🏼

I think their transmission issues would be fixed if they started using the 10 speed thats in the LC 500. Everyone says that transmission is great.
Honestly the transmission only has issues if you drive in Auto while you're getting on it. If you use the paddles when driving it aggressively it's fine. I only recommend driving in auto if you're just cruising.

@@-Zelo i put it in sport mode and its fine especially from a dead stop but sometimes it can be a little lazy but once u hit 3k rpm its goood its amazing off the line

Dude they have had that carbon fiber package since 2016 with the roof and carbon fiber wing minus the lip kit which doesn’t make a weight difference. With that being said gaining 5 more hp with a tune and some bolt ons is easy Af . My meisterschaft exhaust and mid pipe along with my Siebon carbon fiber oem style hood and HRE flow form wheels and now I’m faster and weigh less than the track edition at a fraction of the cost . Without voiding warranty on top of everything. . . Lexus should have made it more like 550 hp at the least to make a difference.

is this car comfortable? Any current owners? I need a small commuting vehicle. 80 miles round trip.
It's basically a decent car for daily use (if anything)and yes it's comfortable and you won't have a problem traveling that far with this thing.

Look at the front lip. It looks aftermarket in carbon fiber. The base RC F with the front lip painted the same color as the body of the car looks SO much better, and 11k less. The weight savings with carbon fiber is negligible unless you plan to pull everything out of the car to primarily track it. But I guess if you love carbon fiber alot, then it would be cool to have. But that front lip. The body color ties it in so much better imo.

Tried several 2016-2017 RCs they seem to be all about looks but not much pull or power. Maybe they updated the 2020s.
Plenty of power off the line..and on freeway i beat a c7 stingray vette on freeway half a car

In 5 years when I retire (end of 2026) This may be an option along with a 2021-22 Supra 3.0 premium. Long term reliability with a Supra may hold me back on that model.

Agreed! This 2020 looks very aftermarket. Tailight turn signals look like an afterthought. Triple beam to the sides look good but the DRL implementation is atrociously generic and does not follow the typical Lexus styling.
I love the car but they really need to get similar levels of tech and performance as the German competitors. Also maybe some1 can answer this for me, why doesn’t Toyota or Lexus utilize the engines lotus produces? Cuz lotus buys Toyota engines, mods them and then uses them to make good performance so it almost seems like a no brained to share exact engines and parts like how they did with the Supra and bmw. I just feel like Lexus and Toyota sports cars could be so much more.
That's a Corolla/Camry engine though, so they are using it. Lotus fine tweaks it, but they put it in a small ass car(Exige etc) that's only 2k lbs(914 kg) and it gets around 200whp but the power to weight ratio is there. It's pretty much like how Miata's are but the market for a Toyota version of the Miata isn't there.
Because Toyota can't make a performance car since no one tries to to anything with there in house sports cars already. Reason why they teamed up with BMW.

I don't get it either. They could of literally just built a Toyota version of the RCF with the ZF tranny for better performance and called it the Supra and have it priced competitively with the Mustang.
@@DragonKnightX12 problem is. They already overprice that platform and Lexus wanted noting to do with the supra Weridly. But what that would if it that really happened would just be it stealing the rc's sales. People would still be mad since it's V8 and not i6 like it is now. Sorta including that Lexus in gerneral really makes anything that's really tuner friendly really doesn't help it.

I think the mark Levinson sound system as a little over rated if you listen to that factory Pioneer in a 2008 IS250 Japanese Pioneer pushing the subwoofers on all doors and plus two woofers in the back y'all see exactly what I'm talking about

I don’t like the light steering. At all. The adjustable weighted steering is nice. Girls I know also can’t stand the light steering. ( which I found odd bcuz I didn’t think they would enjoy fighting w the wheel lol).
