I like the director. If she continues getting help like this through out the series, Karin will become a great English and Japanese voice actress. It’s so cute seeing her bouncing back to Japanese when she makes a mistake.
This is a very late reply, but it’s worth noting that the ADR director is Tony Oliver. This is someone who’s career goes back to the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger days where some of his peers from that era have also done ADR directing. Wendee Lee has been the voice director for Bleach and every Tales game since Legendia. Richard Epcar has been ADR director of many Lupin the 3rd anime installments, including Parts 2, 4 & 5. And Kirk Thornton has been co-ADR director for Naruto & Bleach. In Tony Oliver’s case, he’s been ADR director for the dub’s of every Fate anime installment since Fate/Zero, the Bang Zoom version of Gurren Lagann, Magi, Hunter x Hunter 2011, K-ON, Love Live School Idol Project, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure since part 3 & the Arland’s trilogy of the Atelier JRPG series, just to name some examples.
@@Hypeathon Yep…Tony is one of the best in the business. He was a great choice for this project (although he sadly didn’t get to direct the whole thing.)
Totally respect Karin. That should take a lot of work. The producer (which I think trying to put vocal audio and check the script behind a bunch of television) has to take a lot of time trying to visualized how the voice actress should say to fit with the characters in English Dub (and maybe he have to do the same thing multiple times with other people as well like LilyPichu and Emi Lo). Mad respect of lots of hardwork they put into the franchise.
I just know that Kagamin was sweating and was really nervous doing all this but she did amazing and I congratulate her for achieving such an amazing challenge ❤️❤️❤️
Wow. so that's how voice recording works. Man, I feel that pressure from that editor guy or maybe that the one who ask her to do, idk he is the same person. Anyway I like this content so we can appreciate all of the seeiyu and voice actor for their marvelous work
Man she is really amazing for voicing Maho in both japanese and english 😦 this behind the scenes is so cool, I hope she had a good experience while doing it!
I've recorded some things in studios and it is SO HARD!!! And it wasn't even important productions. Can't imagine the pressure of a project as big as this. Good kob Karin
Woah I don't know about you guys but this is the first time I've seen a voice acting after being animated. It feels pressured and kinda nervous at the same time. Especially if English is not your first language. 😬
I love these looks into the craft and voicing her character in english too, I didn't know that until I saw this. Total respect for the work the producer and Kagami-san put into it to bring the performance to us viewers. No wonder I thought the voice sounded so similar. Sweet with the english message at the end of the video.
This was an interesting look into the dubbing process! I like the way they gave direction here, nice and simple, but insightful -- gets you into the headspace the character's meant to be in. And I think I've said it before, possibly in like... the same words, even, but MAN I have the highest respect for Karin. Couldn't have been easy for her, but she did a fantastic job doing Maho's voice in both versions.
Wow it's actually nice to see the behind the scenes of the english dub and karin did a great job! I hope we get to see tsumutsumu with her English skills (aside from miss aiba aina's english lessons from bandori channel)
I was stunned when I heard a japanese VA on an english dub. But in my opinion it totally works and makes the character that much more authentic. Well done. Hope you continue doing english dubs AND japanese dubs
Thanks for this!! I enjoyed being able to take a sneak peek of how Karin had to adjust to the English dub. It turned out very well!! I hope more opportunities come her way
The way i see it, she could perhaps voice a japanese character in a cartoon or TH-cam web shows with her accent as a trademark. Her english is impressive and her still thick accent just adds to the greatness. Although she sure still has some area to improve regarding word pronounciation
4:30 ganbare Karin!! You can do it!! (you just cant help but to cheer when she's trying her best expressing the same lines in english)..that small voice after she did a mistake, "i'm sorry, please (can i do it again)?"
This is amazing, I didnt knew this since I prefer the original voices, she sounds kinda different in another language. Thank you for this guys, we need more behind the scenes of d4dj and also bandori!
this could hopefully help people respect the English dubs. it's hard to sync for something made for a language that's not English. same thing for international dubs (dubs that aren't in the language of origin)
Idk why y'all calling this broken English/ Japanglish. Just tell me y'all have never speak with non-native speaker. She's fluent to my ear. Idk what would y'all call my accent if you call hers broken.
It’s definitely not japanglish.Engrish or Japanglish is something more than just an accent.it”s literally when you can’t speak language properly but she zcAN even with an accent she still knows language and can speakmit

Great! Just great! ☹️during in English dub, Maho Akashi doesn’t have to be voiced by the American-British English voice actress besides Karin Kagami anyway.
Karin Kagami is special. She's fluent in English because she was born in California before moving to Japan. Same case with Mela Lee. She was raised in the UK before moving to the US.
Ya quisiera ver que hicieran lo mismo con el español latino... eso sería horrible, que manía tienen los yankees de meter negros a doblar negros y japoneses a personajes ponjas
Dubbing both English and Japanese version sure is a lot of pressure I'm impressed with Karin VA skills
It's nice how clear the director is in his instructions. Really came out of this with way more respect than I already had for the whole process.
I like the director. If she continues getting help like this through out the series, Karin will become a great English and Japanese voice actress.

This is cool that we get to see Karin-san behind the scenes doing the English dub.
big props to kagami for doing sub and dub. truly amazing🙏🙏😩
Bilingual Japanese VAs like Karin Kagami are so talented yet not well-known in Seiyuu awards, hopefully she gets some of these.
Man she is really amazing for voicing Maho in both japanese and english 😦 this behind the scenes is so cool, I hope she had a good experience while doing it!
Definitely a good learning experience and probably a good stepping stone for her. I can see a lot of future for her

Wow so much time goes into dubbing just a few lines. Respect for the creators and all seiyuus/VA for any show.
Every time that I see her, she looks prettier and prettier.
I love how professionals are each one of the D4DJ girls.

Hands up to Karin. She really did a good job voicing Maho-nee both Japanese and English.
Would love to see more behind the scenes. Super interesting lol
Just looking at how many takes it took to get it right makes me appreciate all the hard work she put in.
So cool how Karin acts in both the sub and dub!
I couldn’t even do this in my native language- you are so amazing Karin ❤️❤️
Mad respect for getting out of her comfort zone with this. It's never easy employing a different language.
SHE’S SO CUTE
I'm really thankful the D4DJ channel posted a behind the scenes of Kagamin dubbing in English
i cant believe it, her english voice actor can speak japanese too, cool
