    Thank you! How safe and durable are these connectors? I am in the process of adding a rearview camera to my car and the camera needs to be connected to the positive and ground cables. Will these connectors work in your opinion? Thanks

    • @WelkingVue
      @WelkingVue  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think how durable would be subjective. If you got extra wires and extra connectors the best way to find out is to test it out. Connect wires to this connector and try pulling on the wires it'll give you an idea of how durable it is. I done this test before, but with other type of connectors. Keep in mind if the wires are too skinny you probably won't get a good clamp and it'll fall apart easier.

    • @WelkingVue
      @WelkingVue  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WelkingVue once you push the metal part in on the splicer can you pull it back out? Without ruining the wires

    • @WelkingVue
      @WelkingVue  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think this connector was meant for connecting and removing. If you want to do that there are some connectors made for easier connecting and removing. If you remove this connector from the wire you would have already cut the insulation on the wire. The wire could be partially cut when it was spliced.

    So you're in your car, wanting to quick splice a wire. How do you know what gauge it is to choose the right quick splice connector?

    • @WelkingVue
      @WelkingVue  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      With quick splice connector as long as there's a connection between the wires and the connector, then you should be good to go. It depend which wire on the car you want to splice. If it's a speaker wire I would use 18-22 gauge because speaker wires are usually small wire, hopefully you get the idea. You could also look at the size of the wire and compare it to the part of the connector that will cut into the wire. Know the basic, if the connector is too big for the wire, then the connector might not be able to splice into the wire, but if the connector is too small for the wire, then the wire might not fit into the connector OR too much of the wire might get cut when spliced together and could result in loosing sound connection.

      company I worked for If anyone got caught using Scotchlok, they would be fired on the spot.. they have a tendency to slice wires which creates an open circuit,, we either use crimp connectors or we spliced and soldered them together.. also using connectors in newer cars might trigger the anti-theft system and you will never start your car..
