Just lost my father a few hours ago. This is the first song I wanted to hear. He used to play this song all the time when I was young and I with him all the time. As I got older, careers, life, and family of my own I barely got to see him. I have so much regret and hurt for not making more time to see him. The pain is heavy right now. Love you Dad!
When my dad finally passes this is the first song I'm going to hear I'm even going to try to convince the family to play it while we take his coffin out into the hearse
Yesterday august 11, my father would be 100 years old. I was driving and then I listened to this beautiful song on the radio, and I prayed for him, and I said "father I love you". And I am crying right now. God bless him.
I never had a father when I was born...he and my mother gave me up when I was about 2 months old to drugs and sex and other things and my whole life I never had those figures in my life and now that I’m 18 almost 19...it has never hit me harder and this song hits me so so deep cause I never got to have a father to teach me how to play catch or throw a football or any of that. I just wish I could look in his eyes and know that he loves me but he wants nothing to do with me and now I’m going off to college and he never told me one time my entire life he was proud of me nor my mother. I’m so grateful my grandmother raised me to the man I am today.
Bad things will happen to good people, and we can't choose wether they happen to us or not... But be proud of who you are and what you've accomplished. You have people who love you and are proud of you too, and I'm sure you'll be a great father to your kids, if you ever have them.
Sorry for your loss man, I just lost my pops on jan 6 24, he just turned 60 on New years eve, it will be 38 years until I'm 60, then the years after I have no choice but to spend without him 😢
No intention to belittle you guys at all, and it really sucks when your dad goes. We all do of course. He ain't in heaven btw, or hell for that matter. The dude will be everywhere all the time, and you can bet your bottom dollar he will not forget who you are.
I also played this song at my Dad's funeral , I miss my Dad , I love this song , thanks Eric Clapton , a beautiful song to remember our fathers , God Bless .
I think the last time I heard this song was when I was 6 or 7. I was crying (over the loss of my grandfather) and my daddy stopped at a gas station to hold me in his arms when this song was playing. 12-13 years later, I'm listening to this song and reminded of my dad, whose been dead for almost 6 years now and I cry thinking of how tenderly he held me. We may not have had the best relationship, but this song reminds me of how much I actually miss him.
The first time I heard this was in the car with my mom, and it was right when my dad was diagnosed with cancer. This has always held a special part of my life. Life is a definite balance between hard lessons, regrets, pain, but it also can be such a beautiful life.
Lost my dad in 99.he was 52 years young.this song always makes me cry.not a day goes by i don't miss him.last month I lost my mom.so always appriciate your parents cuz one day they will be gone
Never a time when I hear this song, when my eyes don't get watery thinking of my old man, miss him greatly and literally taught me everything there is to know on how to be a Man, from working hard for what you got, to love and protect your wife and kids. Only lesson he didn't teach me is living without him, and his guidance. He prepared me to find the light at the end of the tunnel, but not live with out him, he was my Hero, my best friend, and my confidant and voice of reasoning. I hope one day my kids remember me just like the way I remember my old man. Those of you that still have your dad, cherish him and let him know how much they mean to you, everyday......
I lost my father many years ago and this song still moves me! Enjoy your parents while they are still alive! This song has great meaning to those who have lost their parents and should motovate those who still have theirs alive to appreciate what they have!
Charlie Hecht the greatest loss in life is when someone loses a parent especially when they are close. I love my dad who passed away this year. I miss you dad and pray that I see you one day.
"..."My Father's Eyes" was inspired by the fact that Clapton never met his father, Edward Fryer, who died in 1985. Describing how he wishes he knew his father, the song also refers to Clapton's son Conor, who died in 1991 at age four after falling from an apartment window."
Everytime I hear that song, I feel bad for all the things I've done wrong to my dad and at the same time I am so glad that he is still with me and I can show him what he means to me.
This song hits home to my heart. My father died last Monday. I wish I could look at him one more time. Even talk to him. I'm his Jr. He even nicknamed my son 3D because he is the third generation. Dad I will always love you as I'm crying my heart out on the inside.
Just had my son feb 4th and moved my father up from Florida back to jersey. So happy to have him around and dance to this with my son. God bless you all!
Thanking my Father in heaven for Eric and his gift, offering so many insights to us. (So few appreciate this , as some crude and shallow comments indicate.) Here in Tulsa where Eric worked with his Oklahoma crew, it’s easy to receive and experience the kind of love he sings of
You do have a Heavenly Father you loves you so much. Unconditionally! I lost my son, not too long ago, and I’ve learned to look in my heavenly father’s eyes for my comfort. he sees your broken heart knows about your woundedness. Look into ‘His’ eyes young man. I don’t even know you and I’m so proud of you and what you accomplished without parents.
Lost my dad Easter this year. 9 months later and I still grieve for him. Treasure your father while you have him. I miss him everyday. I love you dad, we will meet again and I will look into your eyes again...
I have always loved this song, but I now love, understand and feel it better, now that I have just lost my Dad. I am the last to see his eyes! I actually closed them. How painful 😭😭😭😭Rest in peace my dad, my best friend!!!
I remember hearing this on Nash Bridges, when his father collapses from a heart attack. This song plays while he's standing over his resting father in the hospital. That memory always makes me tear up. Such a beautiful song.
Драга, мила Анастасиа - и ја тугујем за мојим татом , увек када чујем ову песму- а прошло је толико година--Вечнаја Памјат!......Саучествујем у твојој тузи, овде, из Сербије...
From when I was born, my father was telling me that I was a mistake, and that I was not wanted. My earliest memories were of him having no patience with me, anger, and being beaten. And yet, in his last days, I was the one there who realized that his time was up. Shunned by my siblings, I could not be there for his last moments, because I had seen months of him breaking down to nothing. I actually came to this song for my daughter. Because I know that everything I never had as a kid, I give to her. I will get this song for her, and hope that in years to come, she will relate it to me.
I missed my father so much,,he was very tough old school man,,but he made man of me. Thank you dad for all great values you thought me,,,Love you and miss you.❤😥
I lost my father in 2011... Allah Knows the pain I went through... regretting every moment I could have spent with him that I blew away... shame we can't go back in time and regain so many lost opportunities... I miss you Baba... insha Allah in heaven I will see you
My father is a living legend, a true hero! Decorated military man, navy captain, company CEO, self made man, enthusiastic about fishing, loving husband and greatest father. Everything I've done right in my life so far, he has influenced in a way for the better. Thank you for everything dad! May you one day proudly exclaim "That's my son" to what I have achieved. May we have a million more toasts to good things.
I missed out on the first 3 yrs of my daughter. Not bc I didn't want to but bc I didn't even know she existed. Ever since I found out that I had a daughter, nothing stopped me. Now I'm a big part of her life. She's 5 now and we're closer than ever. "I need my father's eyes" . Love you Vivian
A beautiful song dedicated to his Father.. I had a wonderful and sweet Father and he was my best friend and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. He was the perfect Daddy for me..
Whenever I couldn’t be near my dad or thinking about him and my brother in another country I would play this song, and dance and sang out loud. Few days ago my dad passed away, my brother couldn’t be near and this song saved me. Whenever I see my brother, and look at him I always see that glimpse of my fathers eyes... remember and cherish every single moment ❤️
Need to know the right thing to do??? My dad has been gone 39 years. When I have a question as to what the right thing to do, i hear this song and ask what my Dad would do.
Following my father's passing at age 72 in 1999, I had several dreams about him. In the most vivid of these dreams, I was standing in front of him, simply looking into his eyes, no words being said. That dream is what I think of when I hear this beautiful tribute by Clapton.
I've had many dreams where my father is just smiling at me and I can hear his thoughts, almost like telepathic. Those have been the most special, because the feelings are so real and I believe are a real message from the other side.
My father have just passed away. This song was playing on the radio, as I was many miles away from him. I wish I had the chance to look into his eyes one more time.
Lost my father in January this year, everytime i hear this song, I cry my eyes out, i miss you da, watch over me, keep me on the straight and narrow and I know if i have a question you will answer it in your own way ❤ love you dad
I'm SOOOOOOO THANKFUL I WAS ABLE TO LOOK INTO MY FATHER EYES TODAY AND SPEND FATHER'S DAY WITH HIM❤️❤️❤️🤵🏾 he's been the ONLY man that's ever really loved me!!!! God thank you for my EARTHLY DAD he has really loved me unconditionally ❤️
I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my mom at 18. I never thought I would get over it, and I allowed grief to overtake me. The sadness nearly destroyed me. You will always miss him, but please enjoy the life he gave you. You'll see him again on the other side.
Sometimes we don't ever think about loosing a family member but sometimes it happens so fast as with my mother and father. So next time you see yours give them a big hug and hold on and don't let go, let them know how much you love them.
eric was my dads favorite singer. I have always liked eric clapton too. I lost my dad almost 2 years ago and its really changed me.. there are days where i just wish i could sit with him and feel that feeling of comfort and saftey that we all took for granted as kids..
I miss my parents. Lost my dad when I wad 11 and my mom at 38. I want to live life today that would make them proud of me. And to know they would still love me. I love the verse "Bit by bit ... I realized. I realized: I looked into my father's eyes."
One of the greatest songs ever written indeed. " My Father's Eyes ", has so many learning lessons for me. A decorated Veteran of both theaters of WW 2...I miss him daily from when he passed at 93 on Father's Day 2011...I love you Dad, always will....
I remember listening to this song when I was a kid with my father one time driving to hockey. I knew it reminded him of his deceased father. Now I feel the way he felt. 15 years this February. RIP Dad.
you're not the only one who lost a father. I lost my father, too, last March 2017. He was my first music teacher as well. He died not because of disease or complications but from a broken heart after my mother passed away last November 2015 due to cancer. I thought I would give up playing music because I felt part of me died with him yet still, here I am... still playing music like he always plays. After he died, I asked him, "Dad, how can I carry your legacy? How can I carry you? I feel I can't go on without you." Yet, I am still here. Still playing and playing the music he played when he was still alive. I realize: I am indeed continuing his legacy but carry few things at a time. Hope this helps you a lot. You, me, and everybody else lost their fathers but life goes on. I am sure your dad is watching you and you have to keep moving. But his legacy on you, will always be there. Carry few things at a time and sooner or later, it's comforting before you know it. God bless.
Me & my father's relationship has been tested the past 10 years...lots of yelling, name calling & hurt feelings...he was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in 2014 & I've tried to put our differences aside & just be by his side through this...he's still with us today & I think our relationship has come out stronger in all of this...all I'm saying is try not to let mistakes, anger, regrets & resentments blind you from what your father means to you
a true song of love sorrow and faith. Thank you mister Clapton. You are a masterful songwriter. one of my all time favorite albums especially if im in need of a good cry
I lost my dad just over 18 months ago I miss him so much. He was my dad and my advisor whenever I was unsure about something I would turn to him. This song brings tears to.my eyes each time I hear it. Love it

Lost mines a year ago; On this very day 😔 Stay strong fam. They are still with us in spirit. Continue to make him proud 🙏🏽
Don't worry he's looking from heaven very proud of you and your family
Yesterday august 11, my father would be 100 years old. I was driving and then I listened to this beautiful song on the radio, and I prayed for him, and I said "father I love you". And I am crying right now. God bless him.

God bless you young man. Humanity is proud of you....and our Heavenly Father is proud of you. You are the apple of His eye.
I, as your brother, am proud of you. Prophet Mohammed never saw his father, and his mother died when he was very young. He was an orphan.
Your Heavenly Father loves you. Just call on Him and He will show you his love.
I lost my father when I needed him, I really miss him, may my father rest in heaven

No words to describe this song... Eric Clapton is a living legend.
I simply loved this song on the first day of listening to it

Rough
The great touching sound, the choir, the solo guitar, the trembling with intense feeling voice of Eric - all those make the song magical.
Everytime I hear that song, I feel bad for all the things I've done wrong to my dad and at the same time I am so glad that he is still with me and I can show him what he means to me.
I've seen Clapton in concert 3 times. He puts on a excellent show. One time he had an orchestra with him. A must see for any Clapton fan.
Your so lucky did the man play one we didn't love
I lost my dad when i was 11, now at 21 theres no day i dont think about him. This song is very beautiful moves me every time.

When I hear this song brings back memories of my dad I lost at the age of 13.which was 65 years ago.Still think of him each day.
Lost my dad on fathers day 2018 😢 he was 59. I will never love anyone as much as him, my heart aches 😢
So next time you see yours give them a big hug and hold on and don't let go, let them know how much you love them.
such a wonderful song. I think of my father when I hear it. he does when I was young. clapton have me something to remember him by
eric was my dads favorite singer.

I cant put into words how much I appreciate my father!
What a great song, Eric Clapton has always been one of my favorite guitarist.
Стойностните неща и след десе години са пак стойностни и любими.Благодаря.
... one of a kind guitar man.....
***** Yes, I know... only the best make it on my page... and he earned it several times...
One of the greatest songs ever written indeed. " My Father's Eyes ", has so many learning lessons for me. A decorated Veteran of both theaters of WW 2...I miss him daily from when he passed at 93 on Father's Day 2011...I love you Dad, always will....
This song saved my life thank you
Good to hear.
I remember listening to this song when I was a kid with my father one time driving to hockey. I knew it reminded him of his deceased father. Now I feel the way he felt. 15 years this February. RIP Dad.
I love you dad....missing you so much I will see you again one day please watch over me. x😢
Amen!🌞
Song good
You will meet again soon,in eternal joy, to never part again !
you're not the only one who lost a father.
God bless.
Clapton is one of the greatest musicians of all time.
Beautiful song, i really like it , Clapton man is a legend forever!
Me & my father's relationship has been tested the past 10 years...lots of yelling, name calling & hurt feelings...he was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in 2014 & I've tried to put our differences aside & just be by his side through this...he's still with us today & I think our relationship has come out stronger in all of this...all I'm saying is try not to let mistakes, anger, regrets & resentments blind you from what your father means to you
No tears in heaven. I miss you dad. I'm so sorry your life was so unhappy.God has you now.
why his life unhappy? What youre talking about?
a true song of love sorrow and faith. Thank you mister Clapton. You are a masterful songwriter. one of my all time favorite albums especially if im in need of a good cry
The greatest loss is the loss of this time when music was so soulful and nice. Those artists. Sigh!!.....That time is over now.
